The Trials

In a group that allows so many different orders to come together, it is almost impossible to keep it free from conflict. To not jeopardize the safety of the whole Blackguard, the Trials were created to offer a solution. Should two members of the Guard feel the need to engage in conflict, they either have to take on each other in the Trials or are to be expelled.

The Trials:

The Trial of Wisdom: Both contestants are faced by a problem that can only be solved by creative application of the force.

The Trial of Knowledge: Both contestants have to take a test of knowledge, where they have to answer question around the force, often about more obscure topics and orders.

The Trial of Might: A fight one on one, where everything is allowed besides killing an opponent (should one do so, it automatically counts as a defeat). Members of the Guard can agree to a variation where they will be faced with physical training exercises if they refuse to fight each other.

The contestant that wins 2 or more of the Trials is named victorious and has the right to remain within the Blackguard. The loser is forced to either leave the guard forever or successfully walk the Path of Wisdom to return. Even if a contestant wins the first two rounds he or she has to take part in the last trial, or else it automatically counts as a defeat.
