The Tuesday Treasure Hunt(Wide Open)

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
In the deep recesses of the Tingle Arm a sword was placed in the the bottom of a tomb. Between the Alchemist's touch, the ruins of a forgotten Dark Lord, and what may have been Valik's ultimate creation, the three created a sort of resonance in the Force. The temporary wave of dark side energy could be felt thoughout the galaxy, despite the systems remoteness. If Tash-Taral was hidden from the Gulag Plague before, it wasn't anymore.

Anyone who landed on the planet would find a planet not unlike Korriban, filled with SIthspawn and tombs of Sith Lords long past. The native Tashai were a disorganized people, filled with more of tribes or clans than cities. Talking with the locals or even simple observation would find a common trend. While many of the Tashai men and warriors would brave the tombs for honor and glory there was one tomb all avoided. One which was braved by a slick black haired man armed with a sword unlike any had ever seen, only for both him and sword to disappear quicker than a fire in the rain. Since then the beasts inside became restless, attacking a fury they hadn't seen since the Sith ruled the world.

If any treasure were to be found, it would be there.

OOC:

A treasure hunt in the tombs of Tash-Taral. Ultimate prize is the Kata'nari, but I'll be making a lot of minor Force Artifacts in the factory today as other prizes. I'm gonna tag a couple people who requested it, but everyone is welcome. Have fun guys.

Mrrew had heard of Tash-Taral not long ago, when researching some of the most deadly creatures of the galaxy for his Guild. Storm beasts, was one of them. Very deadly, they had said, able to roar with such ferocity they would actually create sonic damage. Sadly, the wookieepedia.holonet article had said Storm Beasts were driven extinct. Or, the article said, so scientists thought. Recently, it had said, a few specimins were discovered living wild on the planet Tash-Taral, a desert wasteland of a planet in th etingel arm, mostly overlooked by the greater galaxy.

So that's where he went. After paying a local with some silverware and a comlink in exchange for information, he had learned that many storm beasts and other interesting dark creatures roamed the tombs of the planet. He had also learned that there was a paticularly famous tomb, one that the local warned him to avoid. Now, if the locals avoid it, and the galaxy avoids the planets, it was likely to think that the tomb would be relitively ountouched. Which meant if there were anything in there worth looking into, like the treasures the local spoke of, they were likely untouched.

So he set out to the Tomb.

Now, Mrrew stood in front of the sandstone tomb, frowning as he stared into the darkness that loomed behind the enterance way. The Togorian gfrowned, and flicked on a small flashlight in one hand, brandishing his shattergun in the other. This would be interesting.

Mrrew would hear the growl of Tuk'ata's, perhaps a pack, not far off in the distance. The walls would be etched in paint, faded and written in graffiti of differing languages. Though it was expressed in many different ways the common theme was "Turn Back." After a short while the growl of the Tuk'ata would grow silent, before the sound of running paws and claws would come rushing towards him. At the edge of the vision of his flashlight the sight of a dozen, perhaps a dozen and a half tuk'ata would emerge, before the beasts began to pounce at the Togorian.

Now this was a sight to see. A tomb that would be for the hunt of supposable artifacts of the force. I have accepted the fact that my arm will never leave me, and with the fact that nothing would really ever change. Drawing my lightsaber hilt, I walked down the sands of the planet. Making sure to stay out of the way of any creatures that was not worth my time to tango with. Taking two to tango, I avoided the situation. Moving with speed and stealth to move in on the tomb where I could find this Tash-Taral. Well not really find him but find what he left behind and what could be used for later on.

Moving In, I watched as a large feline was walking into the tomb opening. I watched with caution and using the sand to hide myself until he or she entered. Looking around to see that nobody else as making their way, I rushed forwards across the sands on my feet as my lightsaber was in my hand. My left hand then ignited into a small flame the size of a lighter, but illuminated brighter than flood lights. Just to feel like blocking off the entrance should the Feline turn back around, I clenched my fist with my right hand and behind me three spikes, two coming from the sides of the ground in a diagonal fashion, while one placed in the center from smaller people from sliding in or out.

Hearing the sounds of hounds, I looked down the tunnel, and made the flame in my hand lessen to that little more to than a candle. it was then that there was silence, followed by howls and roars. THis was not going to be good for the guy ahead of me.

(Technically I dind't go into the tomb yet, but i'll just pretend I did, and the Tuk'atas are inside.)

He had ignored the dozens of repititions of 'Turn back'. He'd fought Terentateks in the shadowlands, shot down hordes of zombies, and fought technobeasts. There couldn't be anything in there that could do him to much harm, could there? He was proven wrong very quickly. Tuk'atas- he'd seen them before, he'd had orders placed through his Guild for them- were in the tomb. And they were hungry. As the first leaped at him, Mrrew didn't have time to fire his shattergun, instead he quickly stepped to the side. 'Agile as a cat', they'd say. That's when he realized there were others in the tomb. A lot of them. The first one landed easily on Mrrew's left side, while the others began to circle him in the enterance of the tomb. Fantastic, he thought, a fethload of them. His shattergun was excellent force close quarters and groups, but they were to spread out for a group shot- and it would have to recharge after a shot... not something he could afford when he was surrrounded. Another jumped at him. He whacked it aside, swinging his shattergun like a club. He was covered in weapons- a chiru rifle, his heavy balster pistol, his bodo bass gunbelt and bandoleir, his blade- but none of them would be very useful for fighting a dozen monsters at once. Another jumped at his side. He coudln't move in time, it quickly had him pinned. The others ran forwards once the Tuk'ata was standing over him, until Mrrew grabbed the Tuk'ata's muzzle with both hands, quickly pushing it off him. Another one lunged frowards, trying to sink it's jaws into his ankle, but he was able to kick it back- hitting it int he nose just before it did. But he couldn't get up. They were everywhere. It took everything he had just to keep the mob back.

Though the entrance behind was now riddle with spikes, they weren't made with alchemical stone, or mandalorian iron. More adventurers could still come in, but it would take time to clear the rubble

The Tuk'ata struck by Mrrew's club-rifle promptly hit a wall and the cracking of ribs could be heard. It seemed the strength of a togorian was not something to be played with. That strength helped him in keeping the beasts off for a time, until a few of them smelled a different scent. More primate than feline. Smaller, without the power of a being nearly three meters tall. While four or five continued to try to bite pieces out of the Hunter the rest circled around him, wanting the boy with the lightsaber as their next meal.

Walking in closer to the sounds since that was the only way to go, I saw the shadows of a feline smash one of the hounds and when alot of them came to me. I shook my head as this would be difficult to deal with. Taking a hold of the saber in my right hand, I activated the black saber, as well that before they could lunge at me, I lashed out my hand and in a second a pillar rose under one of the hounds, pushing up to the ceiling to crush the creature.

Seeing that I had the ability to kill them, three rushed me at once. My left hand ignited into flames sending a steam of fire to the first of the three, followed by my saber cutting into the second one. But I was not prepared for the third. Leaping on top of me, it tried to bite down on me, only I moved my head as a earthen spike came up to protrude through his mouth, and into his head. Rolling over to my side, I tried to get away from the Dying hound before another rushed me.

I was really looking forward to what I would maybe find. Because I wanted something worth my while. I didn't want to come here for just dust and ashes.

Meanwhile, Mrrew was having a bit more trouble. He'd managed to stand, just as another one of the Tuk'ata leaped at him, trying to go for his throat. Mrrew quickly stepped to the side again, causing the beast to fly past him, and land on the other side of the tomb enterance. Mrrew drew his dauntless combat blade from his belt as another leaped at him, raising the blade in a quick arc that ripped in to the underbelly of the hound, literally spilling it's guts onto the ground. After that, the other hounds began to keep their distance. The Togorian backed himself into a corner. This may not seem like that smart of a thing to do, but when you're dealing with several creatures looking for an opening, it's wise to make sure they can't attack you from behind. Mrrew growled slightly, under his breath, as he watched the hounds, who continued to search for any opening. His shattergun was on the other side of the room, where he'd dropped it when he was tackled, so it wouldn't be much help. The Togorian frowned. He had expected to be fighting monsters, of course, but he hadn't expected this many...

Between the two adventurers nine or ten of the Tuk'ata had now been slain. The rest circled with analytic eyes, before fleeing deeper into the cavernous tomb. It seemed they were not as brave when they didn't have the advantage of numbers. As such things were quiet, for now. The hallways were now empty, save for the decaying corpses of slain tuk'ata and the dropped shatter gun of Mrrew. If they continued onwards they would find a huge square room at the end of the hallway. Walls fifteen meters high, doors on each end five or six meters high and wide. While no beasts occupied the room in the center there was a large pool of water. Analysis would show it was deep, deep enough to swim in. It was up to them to choose whether to go left, right, forward, or into the depths of what appeared to be water and explore below.

Mrrew smiled as the Tuk'ata ran off, breathing a sigh of relief. Before long, he had gathered his small flashlight again- though he hardly needed it, with his excellent night vision- and had his shattergun readied in his other hand. He was still oblivious to the fac tthat there was naothe rin the tombs- the man had fought the Tuk'atas in the corridor behind him, and the scent of TUk'ata overpowered any scent he may have picked up of the huma, while the nosei of fighting them stopped him from hearing the Sith's approach. So he continued onto the square room.

A well of water, that looked plenty deep, in the middle of a desert? The fact that a practical swarm of Tuk'ata had attacked him already showed that there were m onsters in this tomb. And he'd heard stories of Diagnos, and the like. Plus he shuddered at the thought of diving into a pool of water. So rather then go swimming, the Togorian started towards the third corridor, keeping his shattergun raised and fully charged for a good shot. He just hoped that wasn't another monster waiting for him. Unless it was a storm beast, of course.

She had never heard of this world and coming down to the planet with the few rakatan honorguards to protect her brought a smile to her face. Mommy might not know she was here but she was eight years old more then old enough to go out and explore the galaxy. Besides if anyone really wanted to kidnap her they really wouldn't like dealing with her mommies.... or mommies friends. Mommy Dharma was really good at finding things and as her wide eyes looked out the window at the barren planet she could feel the force all around. It was time to explore and have some fun just like the ancient temples on Rakata Beta. "La la la la la we're going to have some fun now okay remember to smile and show those teeth." Bundori held the chain blade in her hands as it revved up and she skipped out looking around.

The third corridor, the Togorian's right, would be a tunnel that seemed half-collapsed in every section. Using his strength he'd be able to push up or move rocks to continue forward rather easily, though it would take a little time, and make backtracking quickly difficult. Ahead the slip-slop of a creature feasting on meat could be heard, and as he continued he'd likely spot fresh blood under the last set of rocks blocking his path.

[member="Bundori"]

When Bundori came to the tomb she'd find the entrance blocked by a few rockey spikes, they'd be easily cleared by some blasters or her Scylla, but it'd take a little time. After that though she'd find an open passageway, the tuk'ata having been cleared by the Sith Knight and Beast Hunter.

Mrrew almost turned back when he'd found that the corridor he'd chosen was blocked by loose rubble, but then he'd herad a sound. A sound much like something eating. He remembered why he had come here, to hunt a Storm Beast, and this could've been his chance. So, keeping his shattergun handy and charged, the Togorian began to easily clear the loose rubble. He made sure to set the rocks only at the side of the corridor, to make it possible for him to double back if needed, just in case whatever was on the other end was something he wasn't prepared for. As the Togorian went on, he could sense the scent of fresh blood in the air. Whatever was on the other side of the rocks had made a kill, and a recent one at that. Mrrew reached for his shattergun, but thougth better of it, and slowly retrieved the Chiru rifle from his back. If it was a storm beast, he'd want it alive. So, holding the rifle in one hand, and cleraing the last of hte rocks with the other, Mrrew continued his work....

Upon removing the last rock Mrrew would find his prey, a Greater Stormbeast that looked to be an alphamale of it's kind, towering at a height even larger than the togorian. Upon seeing the Togorian he'd throw the half-eaten Tuk'ata carcass at Mrrew, using it as a projectile while he charged forward, aiming to rip into the feline's chest with a clawed, meaty hand that held almost unnatural muscle behind it.

Bundori was walking around the planet at first and then she noticed it when one of the honor guards slowed and pointed. Her eyes lighting up while she went over to the tomb and pointed. "Look we found a whatchacallit..... A source of amazing and awesome power that has been sought by the evil je'daii for eons and evers. We must get inside and make sure they do not find it. Come minions to me." Bundori revved the blade up as she started to try and get inside, the guards helping where they could but it would take plenty of time and she was humming about the grand adventures of Buckaroo Banana's and the Connorites vs the evil Je'daii just like that holorecord talked about on Saturday mornings.

While more difficult to peel through than a normal rock formation the stalagmites were no match for the Sith Alchemized chainsaw. Despite the girl's size and age the motors did their work, cutting through it cleanly, if not jerking the tiny girl a bit. With the path clear they could enter the tomb, finding freshly dead tuk'ata on the ground and messages of various languages telling Bundori to turn back spraypainted on the walls.

Holy feth. Those were the only two words Mrrew even had time to thinking before a flying Tuk'ata carcass hit him in the chest, sending him sprawling on the ground of the tomb, his Chiru rifle dropped somehwere. The the beast was on him. Hot stinking breath was around him, and he could feel burning pain in his chest as the beast's claws ripped into himm. Luckily for him however, it was not deep enough to stop him from fighting. The Togorian pulled his blade form his belt, attempting to jab at the beast's shoulder. He didn't intend to badly injure the beast; rather he just wanted to get it away from him long enough to reach for his rifle...

The storm beast cried out in pain as mohc blade entered into his shoulder. While he didn't sever the beast's arm it was obvious tendons and muscles were gone, with the beast trying awkwardly and unsuccessfully to move it afterwards. Backstepping a moment due to the pain it let out a powerful, shrill cry, somehow resonating with it's own voice, creating a sonic wave that seemed to shake the very foundation of the tomb.

Mrrew clamped his hands over his ears, shutting his eyes tight with pain. The sound of the creature's roar would not be pleasent to anyone's ears, let alone the ears of someone with a Togorian's hearing. Mrrew slowly stood, grunting in pain from his chest wound as he did. His sword was wedged in the creature's shoulder. His pistol would be useless. His shattergun would kill it. His rifle. H needed his Chiru rifle. The Togorian frantically searched the corridor for the rifle, only to find it rather quickly. It was directly under the storm beast. The Togorian slowly looked up to the angry monster, and took a step back. This would be harder then he'd ever imagined.

With the Torogian covering his ears and in a moment of weakness the Storm Beast charged, luckily not stepping on the Chiru Rifle, and swung a clawed fist at the feline's neck, aiming for a killing blow.
