The Attack on the first Shipyard had begun. The ZuEric was given a pounding unlike anything given before but there was something bad going on. Attached to it was the fuel section, it was finishing for deployment when they arrived and had the most chance to attack. Turning their turbolaser cannons, they would fire a few shots but it was to late, it was overwhelmed by the constant barrage of turbolaser and ion cannon fire to the point it was destroyed in almost half a minute but the worst had yet to come as it started to implode onto itself. People inside were rushing to get to escape pods...all the while the reactor was going critical.
Shipyard I and II were recording footage of the attack as personal were evacuating, the feed being directly linked into multiple light freighters as they proceeded to take off and escape. Shipyard I however was issuing a fuel fire as it whined loudly in warning. The Restoration and several other corvettes and frigates were attempting to escape, all the while the Restoration having dropped its main shield generators for the jump to hyperspace out of the ships dock....only to be disabled while turning. People inside the Restoration rushed towards the support craft inside as it ranged from light freighters, repair and tug ships as well as retrieval ships. The momentum...smashed directly into the shipyard violently as people and several ships were thrown into the hanger bays walls. It sheered into a section of it from the top as the fuel fire had spread on the inside as two of the Maito Corvettes had escaped upon powering up and fought off some of its attackers. Everything was at critical until...the ZuEric exploded.
The Reactor had failed in the ZuEric, exploding violently as it went into the engineering room and caught the entire fuel system it was connected to ablaze. It linked all the way through into the shipyard as numerous explosions occurred on the inside, bright flashes of red as it arched into the frigates and corvettes docked and ultimately...the Restoration. Being disabled, it had no way to escape and thus, was caught in the explosion as it sheered the front half of the Restoration into pieces, causing a chain reaction of explosions across the Restoration as only a few support craft starships escaped...and the rest were destroyed along with it.
The Restoration Dreadnought, the new Repair ship to assist those in need, was now gone in less than a few minutes, now in nine pieces with the back right corner being the longest. Shipyard I was destroyed along with it, most personal having escaped as several light and heavy freighters streaked through sector space as they witnessed the carnage. The two Dirk Patrol Frigates were caught in the explosion as well as the other four Maito Corvettes, being either crippled or destroyed in the process as they floated harmlessly in space with their pieces scattered among space.
Shipyard II however had enough time to prepare as every ship launched, the Haunting Moon included as the entire sensor field was online, giving it a rather large tactical advantage. The ZuBrain itself was releasing its large payload of starfighters as well as the corvettes and missile frigates. The Missile Frigates, all three would open with a salvo of three hundred Proton Torpedos towards one of the Conquistador known as the Goliath to pound it possibly into dust...and if that was not enough, near to the left side, the Flatwell Cloaked Carrier literally uncloaked as starfighters and bombers poured out of it, firing all turbolasers directly into the Goliaths left side. The missiles from the frigates would be unrelentless, almost constantly firing as they were one of the largest threats on the battlefield but also, one of the most vulnerable as they started to all leave from Shipyard IIs area.
While the Tridents would open fire with several shots from their Long Range Turbolasers near the back towards the Conquistador, the Invader, the Class-J Type Trap Containers would take complete advantage of being between the shipyards and open fire with a resounding salvo of one hundred dual turbolasers firing in unison towards also the Invaders underside. While they may not last long, the element of surprise was on them as the moment they opened fire, forty squadrons of Maia Interceptors would screech out of their hanger bays and engage with multiple upon multiple starfighters such as the K-Types and the Shredder Droids. While they may lose two at a time, they always killed another one of theirs in the process. This combined with the entire combination of more and more squadrons of starfighters coming out of newer Zweihander Interceptors and Bombers, it was becoming more deadly every second.
The PCL-27Cs meanwhile had activated their SLAM systems and decided to scram as fast as they could, dropping behind the entire compliments of their starfighter and bomber mixture right on top of one of the two Alavare Star Destroyers, pummeling it rather quickly with its bombing runs if possible and shredding nearby starfighter support. The Tssukurians however...were merely distractions as they fired at a few starfighters in an attempt to escape but were quickly destroyed, their squadrons having deployed as they fly off to help destroy more K-Type starfighters as ten squadrons of Maia-class Interceptors swooped down with scramjets on full towards the Zweihander Union Headquarters.
The battle was increasing in crescendo, all the while down below, things were about to get grim.
On planetside, everyone in the Headquarters were freaking out as sirens would be going off of possible enemies coming in towards the landing sites to close in on them. Walkers would be out to intercept them as they fired all around the scrap piles, using them as cover as the main quad walkers would be firing more often and inflicting heavy damage. All the while, the Maia-class Interceptors would start to pour in within a few minutes, firing their weapons at nearby starfighters but could not inflict much damage towards the heavier armor. These were extremely well made starfighters and surprisingly, mass produced. Missile Batteries set up would destroy a few of them as they whined loudly before slamming into nearby rubble as several dozen if not more of makeshift vehicles would pour of the cities to evacuate, seeing the war had been brought to them.
At the headquarters, the Executioner Troops would start to surround Haon Hafey as they started to go towards a nearby scrap pile and vanish inside it, a small bunker like spaceport as they were to prepare the Type-K Assault Corvette for immediate departure. His datapad was lighting up constantly for orders as he had given them to a few able captains but...this was getting out of hand. They needed to retreat...and his best hope to stalling was Bad Company. The Pit Droids.
They had only twenty minutes notice before they were told to create havoc and sabotage...which is what they did. There is almost no data on their activites and almost nothing on them from the Metal Lords of the Void yet...they existed. Two Hundred under his employ as they had registered their commands and did what he asked. Create Havoc. As a nearby factory of his was destroyed, no doubt more people being killed in the process for this senseless attack on a falling government and civilian populace, the Pit Droids of Bad Company started to install Thorium Charges in nearby scrap piles. Highly dangerous explosives more powerful then average Thermal Detonators.
This was found out rather quickly possibly a few minutes later when one of the Pit Droids detonated one of the charges near a squad of mercenaries as the explosion would almost shake the ground as screeches be heard from a few Pit Droids, an odd war cry as their small right arms unfolded a blaster and opened fire on a group. As only one Pit Droid would fall, the rest would scatter as sensors could not pick them up, having them each covered in Nightshadow. As reports most likely came in of these guerrilla like tactics droids, a TT-37 Transport would possibly meet an untimely end as a Thorium Charge would erupt from beside it, scrap and rubble shoving it completely into it in not only an attempt to bury it, but to destroy it as more Pit Droids would come from hiding and fire their blasters, only to hide rather quickly. Each attack was at random, fast and was unpredictable. Each one that fell, it seems that a squadron or a vehicle was destroyed with them. They were extremely dangerous, hard to detect and now a thorn in the landing parties side. With the Walkers assisting where they could, they were hopefully making a dent...but were now possibly losing more men than they can sustain.
Meanwhile in the space port bunker, Haon Hafey would slowly enter through the hanger bay as starships were being pulled into the Hanger Bay, a squadron of TIE/AR Bombers. Blast Doors would slowly close violently behind them and seal shut permanently. People were quickly preparing for departure as more datapad messages were blasting through his hip. Still unable to read, he hoped his distress call would soon get out to someone. This was becoming a mess...and getting worse.
