The Unlikely Meeting

Jalek finally, after 12 years of waiting, got tired of waiting for a master. He knew if he waited any longer that he'd never gain the power he needed. He tried to push those thoughts away as he pulled the circuits from the broken panel. He kept attaching wires, carefully to make sure he doesn't alarm anyone. He took a deep breath as he attached the final wire, opening the door to the forbidden texts of the Jedi.

The archives was an odd place for the blind woman to be. One not being not able to read, but yet she found herself walking the isles here. Stopping, she heard an odd sound nearby and headed in that direction.

Through the Force she could tell there was a young man attempting to break into where some potentially harmful texts were held.

"What do you think you are doing?"

He turned to look at Jairdain, cursing under his breath. He knew he was in deep trouble this time, yet something told him he'd be fine.
" Just ummm…. fixing the control panels, ya never know when someone might break in"
He said in a sarcastic tone, he knew he couldn't lie to a master so he went to his smartass tone.

If he noticed her eyes, he would see they were clear, but not focused on anything. However, he had all of her focus through the Force and he might feel that.

"Why are you lying?"

She wasn't going to pry into his mind to find out, Jairdain would rather get the answers from his own mouth. Her tone wasn't mad though and she had a calm that seemed to rub off on him.

He looked at her feeling the force around her. He sighed knowing what he needed to do.
" I'm trying to learn the ways of the force on my own."
He said it in a gentle tone as if he was speaking in a normal situation.

One moment the boy was being sarcastic and then next truthful and polite. At least he didn't attempt to lie to her again. Nodding, she made a casual gesture to the mess he had made with the wires.

"Will you be able to fix that or should I call a tech to come down?"

Taking a guess at his age, she assumed mid teens. When she was her age, she had been forced to grow up. Her world had been destroyed and she was the last of her people.

"I can fix it, just go do what you were doing."
He started to fix everything by hand as he thought about the texts he read in the unrestricted area in the jedi sanctum. About the power of the dark side and how it corrupted the user.

"But I wasn't actually doing anything. What good really does an archive do for somebody that can't see?"

Granted she had a device that could do the reading for her, she did not mention it to the boy. His actions though pleased her and she waited until she was done putting the panel back together. Making some sort of conversation though seemed proper.

"I am Jairdain Ismet."

Leaving off any title, she preferred to keep things more informal normally.

"Jakel Shin"
He said as a wire shocked him. He flinched a little as he felt the sting.
"So why did you come down here"
He was curious to why someone would be here when they're blind. Even though it was none of his business.

"Nice to meet you, Jalek."

She would have offered to shake hands, but he was putting the panel back together. Curiosity was good and it was clear he had pleanty of that as he asked what had brought her down here.

Running a hand along the wall next to them, Jairdain paused a moment while she thought of an answer.

"Somebody I knew a long time ago worked here. I just wanted to come down and relive the past a little I guess."

[member="Jalek Shin"]

"You're right, I am a little sad. But that man isn't the same anymore."

Now that he had stood up and was facing her, she held a hand out for him to shake if he wanted to.

"Learning on your own? What have you learned so far?"

[member="Jalek Shin"]

"I find that really rather odd. There are always classes going on...unless you are new?"

She had held some classes herself that were open to any and all student. With or without masters. At least he told her he didn't know much. Shaking hands she nodded and took her hand back after a few moments.

"Any ideas where you might be strongest?"

[member="Jalek Shin"]

He became very quiet, ashamed to admit anymore. He knew if he told her anything else she would treat him like the council does. Like a parasite. He shook his head, knowing it was a lie. He remembered using the books he took from the archives to learn the ways of the force.

It wasn't often Jairdain would be stern with somebody, but sometimes there was a need. Now was one of them. Looking at him through the Force, she shook her head in return to him.

"I could get that information out of your head if I wanted to. However, I would rather you tell me."

Her face was as stern as her voice. She also took half a step closer. A simple movement of intimidation.

He knew he couldn't hide it anymore. He went against the concils orders. Whether or not he was punished didn't matter to him.
" What little I've learned from books in the archives I learned within an hour or so. Force push, telekinesis, manipulation, and others."
He said in a barely audible tone.

Her attitude changed when he answered. Jairdain was no Council member, but she was a master.

"Very good. I can give you lessons if you wish. However, fighting you'll have to learn from another master. I am more of a mentalist."

Focusing almost fully on the Force itself, she did know how to fight. Just not very well physically.

"Sometimes orders are meant to be broken..."

She said this with a bit of a mischievous smile and some humor.

"Look if you don't get somebody to learn from you're just going to get yourself into worse trouble."
