OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

- Lightsabers: Low
- Other: Low
SPECIAL FEATURES
At a glance, the Vest is a plain black leather bustier, stylish and well made, but certainly nothing fancy. It's flattering to the figure, but more utilitarian in function than decorative. It works well as an undergarment, but is modest enough to be worn by itself without attracting undue attention. It's the sort of hard wearing but sinfully comfortable garment that one might expect from a Head of State who likes to look good, but also ditch the formal robes at a moment's notice and go Jedi on some fools.
A closer look reveals that it also has a discreet armorweave layer between the leather and the silk lining, designed to defeat surprise attacks. Although the wearer probably isn't going to come out the other side unscathed, their security detail should have enough time to pull them to safety.
Thanks to a small umbilical that connects to the tibanna gas reservoir and power cell hidden in the small of the Vest's back, it can also greatly extend the ammunition capacity of The Bracer, giving the Queen of Commenor the extra firepower she might need to survive an attack.

SPECIAL FEATURES
- Armorweave construction provides limited protection against attacks
- Flexible blaster gas reservoir provides additional ammunition for the Bracer Blaster
- Comfortable and discreet
- Protection: Though the Vest is not intended to serve as battlefield armor, it does provide limited protection against kinetic and energy attacks. Its purpose is to defeat the initial salvo of an assassination attempt, be it a blaster bolt or sniper's bullet, and give the wearer a chance to get to cover.
- Low Profile: Outwardly, the Vest resembles a plain black leather bustier. Rusty is no one's idea of a fashion designer, but he knows a few, so he shopped the design out to a high end company that specializes in clothing for women at the very top of the social food chain. Though it's certainly flattering, the Vest is by no means designed to draw attention, and a casual inspection wouldn't reveal anything out of the ordinary. A closer inspection would reveal its nature, but the chances of someone performing an in depth inspection of a Queen's undergarments seems very low indeed.
- Comfortable: Sandwiched in between the leather and armorweave is a network of tiny capillaries. In warm temperatures, the capillaries circulate cooled tibanna gas drawn from the reservoir. A separate network of low powered heating elements is threaded through the Vest as well, in order to provide heating in cold conditions. As a bonus, if the capillaries are struck by a high energy blast, they tend to ablate away much of the energy before it can get to the wearer.
- Hidden Depths: Stored in the small of the back is a tibanna gas reservoir that holds enough gas for 500 shots of the Bracer Blaster, as well as a power cell to provide the energy for an equal number of shots. Both the gas reservoir and the power cell are designed to be puncture resistant. In the event that they are breached, they're designed to vent outwards, violently, ensuring that as much of their contents as possible are hurled away from the wearer. The fact that this violent outgassing would hurl large quantities of gas towards a potential assailant is simply a fringe benefit.
- Limited Protection: The Vest is designed to defeat the first salvo or two of an incoming attack, not hold off a firing squad. This is to give the wearer time to get off the X and behind cover, which is the first and most important step to defeating an assassination attempt. That's not to say that they'll survive unscathed. The armorweave defeats incoming attacks by dispersing the energy over a wider area, so while it may stop an energetic bolt from punching through, burns are still likely. Similarly with bullets, while the initial penetration may be prevented, the wearer can still expect to face significant injury from the kinetic energy.
- Detectable: Because the Vest uses powered systems, it is detectable by scans looking for electronics. While this shouldn't be an issue, seeing as how a Queen can more or less wear what she damn well pleases, in a situation where such a thing is prohibited, the Vest could cause issues.
- Reloads: Though the power cell can be recharged quickly and easily, the tibanna gas reservoir is a bit trickier. Though it can be filled from standard blaster gas packs, the transfer process takes time, and is not something you want to attempt in the middle of a firefight.
