- City Name: The Walk
- Classification: Metropolis
- Location: Coruscant
- Affiliation: SIN, Coratanni Cartel, Heartbeat House
- Demographics:
Anyone and everyone is welcome within the District, the only exclusive factor being their wealth. Though technically it doesn't matter your social standing as anyone can choose to wander through the district itself, the actual shops, clubs, casino, and everything else is extremely expensive. That being said there are no 'guards' keeping people out and everyone is invited to at least walk through the place and see the wonder of it.
- Wealth: High
- Stability: High
Built by two large corporations and backed by several powerful investors, the Entertainment District is not only patrolled by Coruscant Security officers but also various Private Security forces. This creates a sense of extreme security within the District, and it is clear that almost everything is watched carefully.
Along with these more public facades, the District is also routinely patrolled by elements of the Coratanni Cartel.
- Description:
This would eventually evolve into what would become the Walk, built directly upon the rubble of old sections of Coruscant that were left untouched after the liberation.
The district itself is made up of a single huge street dubbed "The Walk" on either side of which one can find anything ranging from Nightclubs to Casinos. Anything and everything can be found within the Entertainment District, and it is meant as a place that one can truly lose themselves in a night of Debauchery.
There are many different kinds of forms of entertainment to be found within the district, both Heartbeat House and SIN supplying the masses with anything they could dream of. Gambling, Drinking, some drugs, and even certain aspects of 'high life' can be found dotted throughout the Entertainment district.
It is without a doubt that the Walk was designed as one massive tourist trap, located directly on the the surface of Coruscant where many travelers and tourists walk though.
Due to it's nature, some have taken to calling this area of Coruscant "Little Zeltros".
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Walk: This is the central part of this District.
The Walk is the actual street that most of the locations within the District are actually placed on. This massive road stretches for nearly three miles, surrounded on either side with massive buildings and structures that are filled to the brim with Casino's, nightclubs, and dozens of other attractions that actually bring people to the Entertainment District.
Though not really an 'attraction' like the malls or casinos, the Walk itself is quite a sight. Composed mostly of Solarium Glasteel, various neon lights, and several more showcasing components the Walk is intensely bright and entertaining. Fountains, artificial light trees, and other things draw people to The Walk simply to see it.
Unlike many other things in the District, one does not have to pay for visiting the Walk. Everyone is free to simply stroll down the road and take in the glamorous sights.
Casino: The Casino is one of the main and largest components of the Walk. Located directly in the center of The Walk, the Casino sits at the very top of luxury and high life. The inside of the Casino is decorated with what most would consider the height of class, large crystal chandeliers, elegant carpets, and bright tapestries.
Even the 'lower' sections of the casino scream of the need for elegance.
The Casino itself is split into three separate sections for the convenience of customers. There is the lowest tier on the first five floors, containing all games at a cheaper price. Then there are the mid floors on the next ten floors, servicing those customers who hold a little bit more wealth, and then the very top of the Casino is reserved for only the highest of rollers.
The entire Casino has more than enough space and rooms to service all kinds of customers, and it is clear that the Casino strives to serve customers of all sorts. Giving all the best experience that they can afford.
Shopping Mall: Located within several buildings, the shopping 'mall' located in The Walk is more like a massive collection of dozens of stores and locations.
The Mall is much less a singular place, but more of a smattering of every luxury good store that one could imagine all over the Walk.
The Basics of The Walk is if you can imagine it, there's probably a store for it somewhere. Each and every store on the Walk is carefully vetted by SIN and Heartbeat House, only given a location when they meet certain qualifications. This is mostly because of the massive tourist draw of The Walk itself, and most of the stores who set up shop within the District become massively successful.
Clubs: Much like the the "Mall" located on The Walk, the clubs of the Walk are spread throughout the entire place. Some are big, some are small, and others are hidden beneath the very streets.
Both SIN and Heartbeat House have tried to make it so each and every club within the Walk feels like a different experience from the next. No two nightclubs upon The Walk are alike, and every single one carries a different theme, layout, and of course type of customers.
It is not an accident that all of these clubs are spread throughout the District, and it is not inaccurate to say that there is something for everyone, even those that prefer not to go to clubs at all.
Theaters: Though perhaps not the most expected component, found alongside the night clubs, casino, and shopping centers on The Walk are a myriad of small and large theaters.
These establishments are one of the most curious and perhaps entertainment aspects of The Walk and most often feature everything from Comedians to full-on dramatic plays about the Galaxy at large. Though something that had to debated over, the theaters found in the Coruscant Entertainment District are critically acclaimed, with some being geared towards the lap of luxury.
Of course, the theaters are sometimes rented out for other purposes as well.
Other: The Walk is quite literally a city within a city, one can find much more there than is just listed here.
Within the District there are dozens of restaurants, food carts, art galleries, and other things that one might find in any large cities entertainment sector. Within the District one can find almost anything if they look hard enough, including the those more inclined for the darker sides of life.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The history of the Walk is neither long nor storied.
The idea and relative concept was created by both [member="Joza Perl"] and Slevin Thawne. Though initially their business dealings were simple and small, starting with only two nightclubs and planning to expand into a further few locations, their eventual combined Corporations were able to achieve something far greater.
With both SIN and Heartbeat House working together, their small concept eventually evolved into The Walk.
Utilizing funds from both of their corporations, as well as tax cuts from the Galactic Alliance, the two companies began to buy up a large amount of real estate of Coruscant. This was achieved through mostly buying older, run down, and destroyed properties which were largely ignored after the liberation of the planet.
This property was then all homogenized into a singular plot which would eventually become the Walk.
Over the course of several months SIN set it's construction arm to work, building up structures. Heartbeat House supplied a large amount of interior furnishings as well as sourcing labor from it's various philanthropic ventures, with each laborer being well compensated and offered a new life on Coruscant for their families.
Before long the two Corporations managed to stitch together dozens of smaller entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, as well as other small businesses and before long the Coruscant Entertainment District was open for business.
