The Witch and The Rites

Feet planted firmly on the grassy knoll, overlooking the crashing waves of purity, Darth Venefica stood poised to assist in the training of an Acolyte. The girl was not her Apprentice in the official capacity, just giving back to ones who sought knowledge from her. She may never accept a bid for an Apprentice, though she felt almost obliged to trickle down her knowledge. The One Sith were gone, and still she felt unrest in her soul. Watching the circling birds dart across the twilight sky conjured up memories of her youth, when she was reckless and childish; oh how the youth of ignorance gave birth to the age of maturity.
And the lone tear of loss cascaded down her cheek. Somewhere out there her only child, her beloved Daughter, was alone and without Mother. Since the conception of the girl, The Dagobah Sith had turned from monster to Mother in a breath's wisp. Her life was dedicated to her child, struggling to hold back her history from whispering into her Daughter's ears. Her Daughter loved her Mother, just as Mother loved her Daughter, but that schism forced between them turned her blood colder than it ever had when she first embraced the Dark Side. For the first time in her life, she felt powerless. And more angrier than ever.
Releasing her clasped hands, she spoke for the first time to a Sith in nearly ten years. "You're late."

I left the nearly completed Temple on Bastion, for the hillside to meet a Sith Lord who was smelling of loss and a troubled heart. When I first met the awkward Sith, I tried to speak to her, and she cast me aside without a hint of emotion. So it came to my surprise that she had accepted my offer to study under her. She wasn't my Master, but my Master allowed me to study with this woman. I felt there was history between them; one of respect I would never know or understand. I would not squander this opportunity.

Drawing closer to the hill, I saw the wraith-like woman staring across the ocean, hands clasped behind her back; studying and calculating while spilling an aura of Darkside energy around her. It smelled aromatic and tasted like forbidden fruit, and there was great immense power there. The pause my legs exhibited frowned my monster lips, who was this woman? I heard her name spoken among those that knew her, but with her name spoken there grew an icy chill in the air; as if they were speaking of the dead and resurrecting ghosts from the beyond. She was haunting and beautiful, and for one brief instance my heart knew jealousy. But any attempts to kill her, I knew, would not bode well for me. I was scary, this woman elevated the level of fright.

Cautiously I moved toward her, seeing her robe move and react to my steps. Was that thing alive? Keeping my eyes on her robe, I slowly moved toward her; dropping my weapons along the way to show submission for once. The catching of her robe moving gave me concern. What was she? Halting me in mid-step, she spoke. A tone in her voice raised the hairs on the back of my neck in a saluting posture. "Lord Venefica. I am Satia, you requested my presence to join you."

"My name is Darth Venefica....Dark Lady of the Sith. You will not refer to me with the title of Lord again. If you cannot differentiate between genders...then you are already a lost hope to me."
Darth Venefica always shunned the reference of Lord to her, she was a female who earned the right to be called Lady. There were other female Sith Lords who answered to the Lord title, as if that gave them more power than the feminine counterpart. Which was not the case except in their own minds.
"I called for you because you seek to walk down the path of mental domination....a powerful and admirable set of knowledgeable powers indeed. Sith by nature are brutal who crave conflict....leaving destruction and worlds aflame in their wake. That is narrow thinking. The galaxy is filled with advantages and mysteries ripe for the picking, Satia. Thus mental domination.
Darth Venefica turned to face the girl seeing the imposing figure in front of her. The Swamp Witch believed Satia could use her size in a menacing and fearful prospect, the girl held no sway over the Sith Lady. Darth Venefica looked up at the girl.
"Before we begin young Sith....tell me why you embraced the Dark Side and most importantly why you are worthy of learing from me?"
