The World of Opportunities

The Techno Union. Another rising power in this chaotic galaxy, and one of the few economically stable factions in existence. The ideal client for Hill Holdings. Having them as allies would greatly help Targo Hill's bid for the position of Chairman in the Intergalactic Banking Clan. He needed as many allies as he could get if he wanted to survive in this galaxy, and this was the perfect opportunity to make one.

The head of Hill Holdings took a deep breath as his ship, a luxurious Gaillard Galaxy-One called Hill's Pride, entered Hypori's atmosphere. The planet was one of the most industrialized worlds in the Southern region of the galaxy, and Targo Hill was to meet the director of the Union's finance department in an isolated building away from the pollution and ugliness of the Hypori foundries.

The ship made its way to a landing pad close to the meeting place. Hill's Pride successfully landed and opened its entrance door and ramp, revealing a Muun dressed in a green business suit, flanked by three others of the same species. Targo looked at his surroundings for a moment, before walking down the ramp with his three advisors.

"I am to speak to Lucien Cordel," the well-dressed Hill stated as the ship's doors closed behind him.

Lucien's assistant awaited [member="Targo Hill"] at the landing platform of the Hypori Shard Hotel, a premises of good renown and even better views, she was a behemoth in the body of a debutante, where most staff lasted a year or two at most this lady had lasted nigh on a decade. She greeted Targo with a polite nod. "Mr. Cordel was quite intrigued to receive a request to meet Mr. Hill, you will be meeting with him and representatives from both his company and the unions department of finance " she gestured for Targo and his entourage to follow "Mr. Cordel has booked out the entire top floor to ensure your meeting isn't looked in upon, there is provision for you to stay the night here at the hotel should you require"

The conference room Lucien had situated himself in was relatively simple room, a light wood floor and dominated by a polished glass table. It could perhaps be confused for average were it not for the imposing feature window overlooking the economic heartland of the techno union, a fitting place to form a partnership for the ages ... or perhaps kickoff a corporate war. Lucien's assistant gave a light knock on the conference room door before escorting Targo in. "Mr. Cordel , Sirs and Madams this is Mr. Hill and representatives from his Bank"

"Thank you Miss Havinden" Lucien stood up " Mr. Hill, an Honour... " he gestured to the chairs facing him and his companions "Please take a seat, If you wish for any refreshments Miss Havinden will fetch them before we begin " he said with a polite smile.

The Muun returned a polite nod to the assistant before following her into the luxurious building. "I doubt this will be necessary, but I appreciate your concern," Targo replied politely, concerning the matter of staying on Hypori for the night.

Targo Hill thoroughly studied his surroundings as they made their way to the conference room, with a curiosity not unusual for a Muun. A nearly-invisible smirk appeared on his thin lips as the conference room's doors slid open. That day he would either win a great ally, or a powerful rival. The Muun wished for the former, as he had more than enough opponents already. Targo and his entourage entered the room graciously, with Targo saluting the Union head of finances with a polite nod before taking a seat.

"Pleased to meet you as well, Mr. Cordel," he said, smiling lightly. "Word of your success reaches Muunilinst. You've truly made the Techno Union an economic superpower."

The Muun wasn't flattering the man—the Union currently had one of the strongest economies in the galaxy, if not the strongest. "And us Muuns prefer not to consume while doing business," Hill rejected the offer as politely as possible.

Smiles they were the cloaks of cloak and dagger business. The best industrialists could smile convincingly all the time, and there was no denying that both Lucien and [member="Targo Hill"] were good at their jobs, they would be smiling a lot it seemed.

"You do me a great honour Mr. Hill but I can't take credit for the unions prior success, I have only been in this job a few weeks " He smiled in turn "I do plan some very big things however so perhaps I can take credit for it's future success"

Lucien subtly raised an eyebrow, was Mr. Hill telling the truth was it a species custom that led to Targo declining refreshment or was it a trust issue. Some degree of mistrust was always a symptom of intelligence but too much would complicate matters. "Very good" he replied before shifting to sit upright "Let us get down to business, I am given to understand you are seeking to rise within the banking clan ..." Lucien couldn't see why the banking clan was by no means the galactic power it once was ... unless the Muun had designs on it's revival now that was an interesting thought. " ... How can the union help you in that regard, or indeed in any regard?"

"Straight to the heart of the matter, then," the Muun said, the sly smile still on his face. Before asking for their help right away, which had the potential to harm Cordel's opinion on him, he would do the Union—and its director of finances—some favors.

"Good sir, I am not here to request your assistance, but rather, help you rise in this galaxy," Hill stated, before clearing his throat, the smile starting to disappear. "The Techno Union is currently one of the biggest industrial superpowers. But how long will this last? You possess very few mineral-rich planets, and those metals you use to build your droids and ships are getting scarcer by the minute. And you cannot keep importing them from other factions or neutral worlds paying over ten times their worth." The Muun leaned closer to Cordel and slightly lowered his voice. "What I am offering, Mr. Cordel, is a partnership. I can ally worlds to you and get them to sell you resources with less inflated prices. With those resources, you can expand your influence in the Southern region of the galaxy and start making your way to the Core Worlds."

The Muun leaned back, awaiting for the question "and what'll be your gain from this?".

Lucien raised an eyebrow, he couldn't decide whether the Munn was lying to him. [member="Targo Hill"] would be very naive to lie in this regard ... it was awfully suspicious to come before the union and request nothing. especially when they promised to fix one of the unions fatal flaws. In union space it was every man for himself and everything, no matter, cost something. Lucien hummed it was clear the union needed what Targo offered but did they need it from Targo. The Munn were notoriously whiley.

" Your offer is enticing but it would not be sporting of me to take all that from you and give you nothing in return, so now is your opportunity name your price, how much will you need for your ... sacrifice?" Lucien knew there would be a price, there was always a price and lucien intended to see the price tag first. He smiled and took a drink.
