Jak Sandrow

"Nobody cares for the woods anymore."
"I'll bid 10,000C on Lot A," Jak spoke up. He held a datapad before him. "You can verify that I have the funds." He eyed the room - compared to the other lots, a simple modification station seemed like peanuts. And it probably was - he had no need for a starship, but a salvaging component? He could use one of those on The Foundry.

Keric sat within the crowd at the cantina, a root beer at his elbow, though it was mostly untouched as he looked over the lots and current bids. Keric knew the worth of what Jorus made, he'd been the man's student in another life, under another identity.

Ra Vizsla said:
"2,000 credits on Lot E.", Ra commanded. He took a swig of his jawa juice, a hologram of the golden massive behemoth awkwardly perched on a tiny wooden stool in the back of the room.
The booming voice, which seemed unaffected by any issue though it was coming out of an annunciator on the holoprojector, had startled Keric a bit. Even had he not been wearing the voidstone gunbelt that kept him from the Force, he wouldn't have really known the Mandalorian had been there. He'd been too engrossed in looking over the design specs.

Looking back from the Undying to the pad in front of him, Keric nodded.

"5,000 credits on Lot C, 3,000 on Lot E." He said, he couldn't help but grin. He'd seen holos of the great Mandalorian Ra Viszla, had seen re-enactments of his life and death. All of the war, and violence, and Keric found himself in a good old bidding war against the man come back to life.

In the back of his mind he was trying to calculate the likleyhood of winning the bidding war and enjoying the map himself. Rumors went around that the Undying didn't brook dissent very well. Keric shrugged to himself. 'He'd have to catch me first.'

Vaudin took a drink from his flask and eyed the lots. A lot of tempting stuff. "400 on lot A, 3,100 on lot E, 400 on lot F" he leaned back and hoped he didn't have to ahoot his way out.

Six Vodrans entered stage right, backs bowed beneath a palanquin ‘pon which sat the magnanimous Gorba in all his prodigity. They lowered the palanquin outside of Wuher’s and Gorba slithered in, accompanied by two Bareesh Kajidic retainers.

The Hutt leered upon the room with his one good eye, then made a pompous gesture with his hand.

A gaunt Givin standing beside him stepped forward and announced, “the great and mighty Gorba places a bid of 8,000 credits upon each lot, save lot A.”

Kay hadn't gone to an auction before that wasn't a slave auction. She had gained items such as ships from other auctions in the past, though those were always attended by others such as her husband [member="Veiere Arenais"] . However she was inclined to go to this one for reasons known only to herself. Yet here she was, having heard word of it while she was passing through the territory for business that was entirely her own.

[member="Jak Sandrow"] she recognized from Kwenn Station. [member="Keric Dynt"] she didn't know from anywhere; just a random face in the crowd. But [member="Ra Vizsla"] she did know. Although he was thankfully just a holoprojection, that didn't stop the chill from creeping down her spine. So the rumours were true. He was alive. Her mind couldn't help but drift back to the trial of [member="Gray Raxis"] that she had to attend. They nearly lost their lives that day. And there was no doubt in her mind that he was going to be at the forefront for more destruction in the Galaxy. Her people would have to keep an indirect eye on that.

"100,000 credits on Lot F. 20,000 on Lot D."

Keric was far less surprised to see the next few bids, particularly from the Hutt. It seemed most of that species endeavored to try to fit the stereotype to a 'T', and bidding on almost every lot in such a grandiose fashion definitely placed this Hutt in that race of ego.

Keric tapped a few keys on his pad, shifting money around. The wonderful thing about having multiple personalities set up around the galaxy, was their bank accounts accrued interest even when you weren't active in that personality. He was careful to make sure his connection was as secure as possible, though certainly not slice proof if a slicer knew what to look for. A little bit of funds from each of several of his past lives, into what he was using to bid with gave him some breathing room.

"8,001 credits each on Lots C and E. I'm also throwing in a discount on executive protection provided by Aegis Security." He replied to the Hutts offer, whether the Hutt took the single credit raise as a slight was entirely up to what kind of Hutt this one was.

"Dick move." Vaudin muttered to himself, "8,100 on lot E and 8,002 of lot F." He said as he watched his drinking funds dwindle.

One.

Hundred.

Thousand.

Gorba’s eye bulged wrathfully. “Aggh! Buh-kah. Teedee Jedi!“

The Givin, an accountant by the name of Ni’gel, quailed slightly. “The gracious Gorba offers 105,000 credits on lot F.”

The girl stood at the side of the room close to a hologram of some sleemo clad in bulky armor. Who wears armor if your holoing in. She thought to herself. Lot F was the only one that applied to her since her ship was bare minimum. The spineless hutt seemed to be emptying his bank account. She had been saving credits for the modifications herself but she didn't know what parts or anything she needed. Ships alluded her. "I bid one hundred and ten thousand five hundred credits on lot F!." She said loudly to be heard. Her eyes immediately shifted to the hutt as she smirked.

Kay's eyes were drawn to [member="Gorba the Hutt"] as he seemed to react quite strongly to her bid. Obviously he wasn't expecting things to go so high so quickly. She had no idea of what his finances were like, but one could assume. Still, she was confident enough in her own.

One of his minions put in a bid straight away. It was a bit of a raise, but not much. [member="Darth Pellax"] spoke up next with a bid on the same lot. Did she have some score to settle with the Hutt? It was difficult to say.

Regardless, Kay couldn't remain quiet for long. "120,000 credits on Lot F."

[member="Jorus Merrill"] [member="Vaudin Miir"]

"10,000 credits, a copy of Kael's next planned blaster design, and a custom blaster to fit customer's need for Lot F." Kael ate and drank in the background while playing Dejarik with a Trandoshan. He was losing pretty badly.

"Ee chuga" grumbled the Hutt.

"One hundred five thousand credits, two - er.... dancers and-" the Givin froze and turned back to the Hutt. "What? I can't say that!"

Gorba blinked. Slowly.

The Givin swallowed, then turned back around and adjusted his robe. "Ahem. And ah- a full week of uh, pleasure, at any Bareesh palace."

The bid by [member="Kael Rose"] was low, yet he probably already knew that. His manner suggested enough that he didn't care either way.

Kay did a double-take at [member="Gorba the Hutt"] 's offer. Did he just bid what she thought he did? Of course she had no idea if [member="Jorus Merrill"] was the type that valued easy sex from what could probably be best described as a brothel.

She shuddered at the thought of the very idea of such a place and decided on a bid to up the anty on her end. "125,000 credits and a chest of chrysopaz gemstones for Lot F." Those gemstones could be used for any number of things; from jewelry making to lightsabers. They were just one of the exports that the world of Commenor had to offer.

Vaudin perked up and turned toward the large mass of the slug that seemed to ooze money and debauchery.

"I'll bid one year of free cargo hauling for the brothel bid." He said as he eyed the Hutt.

The other bidders was starting to add in personal effects. By the sounds of it these people had enough credits and assets to have just brought a brand new ship. Unlike the others she lacked assets that could bolster the bid. She owned very little. Every credit she had was from plundering the rich targets homes and her hard earned pay from assassination jobs. "I raise the bid to 150,000cr for lot F and my Pauldron made from songsteel and aurodium."

Bareesh palaces didn't offer cheap sex.

They offered obscenely expensive, incredible sex.

And that was just one aspect of what the palaces could offer. Spice dens. Cutting edge virtual reality simulation. Exotic animal shows. They had it all.

Gorba glanced at the red skinned fellow with the horns, then blinked and waved a hand to Ni'gel.

The Givin cleared his throat. "Your offer is accepted. Contact us outside afterward." [member="Vaudin Miir"]

Then to the denizens of Wuher's, "His eminence, the mighty Gorba, offers one hundred and five thousand credits, all the aforementioned, and free entry for any racer into any Bareesh racing track."

[member="Vaudin Miir"] 's offer to [member="Gorba the Hutt"] caused Kay to raise a brow. In all honesty it shouldn't surprise her. Those types of places weren't popular because no one went. But still she found the very idea to be horrid, much like slavery. There was a reason that she was wanted by the Hutt Cartel for a time. Back when she was a Senator for the Republic, she spent a lot of money and effort at rescuing slaves, ambushing village raids and attacking the slave camps.

Maybe those kinds of missions weren't at an end, especially as her territory expanded.

But of course she had other things to concern herself over. Ones that dealt a lot more with her personally than her distaste for brothels and slavery in Hutt space.

Her eyes drifted to [member="Darth Pellax"] and her offer. There seemed to be a very good reason that the woman posed such a high bid. Perhaps she'll speak with her later.

Kay clenched her jaw as she had to put forth a better offer. In her mind, LOT F held more to it than just ship modifications. "150,000 credits, the chest of chrysopaz gemstones as well as free access to one of our trade routes for one standard month for Lot F." The lack of taxes and tariffs could save any company or government a lot of taxes and CSA space was neutral that led into the Core.
