Therapist characters

Sometimes I wonder whether there actually are therapists among the player character pool... if not, I would have to create a therapist toon. Because I believe one of my NPCs may need a therapist if the heist falls apart.

If I need to create a therapist toon (may be NPC or PC depending on how much of a need there is for therapy among PCs, especially NFUs), I have three ideas: a Jawa (undecided gender at this point), a purple female Twi'lek or a Zeltron female, undecided between FU or NFU.

If a NPC therapist is enough NFU the therapist will be. But if there is enough demand for therapy I think it may be best for the therapist to be a FU, and probably a witch at that.

I have a Doctor who isn't a therapist per se, but she is a therapeutic in nature and telepathic (as well as blind) but she is basically working on making the world a better place by helping people.

Ohh, that would be a fun thing!

...Kat or her mother will never come see this therapist. They like their freedom. :D [member="Charzon Loulan"]

A witch though? You wanna do a Witch or some other reason why you'd make therapist a witch?

[member="Charzon Loulan"] No, no. I was liking the Witch idea. I was legit curious. I imagine for some reasons her making potions instead prescribing meds, lol

[member="Saran Drast"] So true. And probably 'cos they'd never go on holiday once they open their practice. Plus, such Harley Quinn possibilities. Listen to all that crazy, eventually go crazy :D

You don't provide therapy to Force-users the same way you would with NFUs. NFUs would have a harder time providing therapy to FUs than FUs would. FUs in particular are sensitive as to whom to receive care from: dark-sided patients would rarely, if ever, go see a light-sided therapist, and vice-versa. A witch therapist would allow me to have a FU therapist without having to care about the therapist's Force-alignment (in terms of light vs. dark) or the patient's.

But again, the temptation would be greater for a FU therapist to just use the Force to solve a patient's problems, especially if said therapist leaned towards the dark. Plus my witch therapist would have initially a limited spellbook: a spell where one would hurl alcohol much like they would a Force-lightning bolt, and another one where she would use the Force to sense a patient's potential problems.

You may even think of such a character as a witch doctor (pun intended)... but it poses the problem of factions. I see a player character as a long-term investment and each character I'm playing seems to have a primary faction allegiance (Republic for Charzon, Galactic Alliance for Ugohr, First Order for Dunames).

[member="Katrine Van-Derveld"] Behold, I'm Mandalore's most famous therapist! (Although ICly that doesn't mean much, Mandalore isn't exactly known as a premier destination for mental health)

I'm digging the train of thoughts you had for a witch doctor. Those would also be pretty unique spells so would have loved to see wording for it :D

I see your logic in treatment. Kat herself had a long lasting borderline personality disorder and a prescription. But it only really worked for as long as the meds works since that's only part of her problem. Yep, mental problems in character fascinate me.

Yay, Mandalore's most famous therapist ^_^

[member="Katrine Van-Derveld"] I shall open a thread tomorrow. It's late, I was setting up that character, as well as respond to any other threads of my alts (including but not limited to Charzon)
