There is Power in a Union

It was said time changed people and it was no different for Jairdain. There were a few things that would never change for her. Fighting was one or so she thought. She really only knew the basics and followed a far more natural or instinct based fighting style. At least she knew the business end of her saber from the other and had yet to hurt herself (or anybody else) with it.

Time had also changed the man who had once been her enemy. Much of that changed had accidently been caused by her, but he had continued with that even after her touch had ended.

Twice now he had asked her to stay with him, but she still declined to make any formal decision. She now freely came and went from Iridonia and did spend time there when she could. Heading back now to the gift he had given her there. That plot of land with the home and here she could just be herself.

She sat meditating on the property without a care to the weather around her.

It was almost another day as normal. Krest was in his own home when he felt a familiar sensation arrive to his world. His head lifted to glance around, a grin forming. [member="Jairdain"] . Immediately finding himself bored with what ever he was doing he left his home to head towards hers, his hands behind his head and his grin still remained. At least, until he saw snow falling.

Snow was an impossibility for Iridonia. He laughed loudly as he entered her home, peering around. "Jair, you've made it snow. It's a first here, but do try not to freeze any of the neighbors crops. The farmers here work hard to keep their plants alive."

She might be blind and in a form of meditation, but Jaridain was fully aware of Krest's approach. Being oblivious to the atmosphere around her, when Krest laughed and said she had made it snow, she ended that meditation rather quickly.

Standing up with a slight blush, but still a smile for Krest, she made to brush any snow that might have collected on her shoulders and hair.

"Well, they might like the moisture that comes with it? My first land here you gave me, I tried farming. Luckily I learned a bit of plant surge and didn't have too much issue. Not like the other farmers. It is nice to see you."

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"Moisture is fine. Cold will send a shock to the poor plants qho are use to the dry heat of Iridonia. Still, its impressive you can alter the weather to that degree." Krest mumbled, idly scratching his chin. That wasn't a skill he remembered her having, yet she had mastered it to some degree. Seems even masters can learn new things.

"Its good to see you too, Jair." He smiled wide. However brief her trips were they were the highlight of his day. "What's the plan for today anyway?"

This was still a relatively new skill to Jairdain and while she generally had good control over it, there were still times when that was lost. As was displayed by the falling snow. Which was melting and going away in the heat.

Though she couldn't see the smile Krest gave her, she could sense his happiness through the Force and returned the smile. It was rather contagious at times and it rubbed off on her this time.

"Well, not too much. Was just meditating and well, I guess touching the weather."

She offered him a seat and drink. If he wanted one, she would return with the drink he asked for.

"I was also thinking on something. This does me very little good. Barely know how to use it."

Motioning to her saber hilt clipped to her belt, she thought back to her school days and the swords her people used. Lessons though had been kept from her because they didn't it would do her any benefit because she couldn't see.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

Krest snickered at her response before he sat and joined her for a drink. "Tea." He muttered, glancing around the room. He use to be addicted to tea, so long ago. Now it was a passing desire. He gave a curious glance to the saber on her hip, his head tiltig to one side.

"You've no idea how to use it but have it with you? That's a danger mostly to yourself you know. Though, I'm surprised they didn't teach you despite being blind. There's a whole race of people without eyes who can fight with a saber no issue." He paused, idly scratching at his chin. "I can teach you if you want."

[member="Jairdain"]

The request for tea came as no surprise to Jairdain and got some for both of them.

"I know the business end from the other. More or less use it on instinct alone."

The race he mentioned were the Miraluka who she had met a few of them in her time. Her vision wasn't quite the same and she couldn't read their writing at all. Not that it really mattered to her. She had gotten along just fine in her life without knowing how to read.

"How? Nobody has done it yet."

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"An apprentice of mine is also blind, yet he's almost as skilled as I am with a blade. It's never stopped him being unable to see." Krest shrugged a bit as he sipped his tea. Vaulkhar Zambrano, one of the many children to the Sith Emperor. "You can see enough of the world around you. All you need to do is be able to predict danger and learn how to strike, yeah?" A grin flashed across the Zabrak's face as he watched [member="Jairdain"] for a moment.

"Unless, you don't feel up to it."

She listened to what Krest said about another apprentice of his, but barely nodded.

"I was always told I would never be a good fighter. So I focused on mental abilities. Yet you say it can happen?"

Lifting a hand to her head, she lowered it when she finished and took a sip of her own drink.

"It's not so much I can see the world really. Life, intentions, thoughts and those things I can. You know how I view the world."

Giving him a rather dirty look when he suggested she might not be up for it, the message should be clear to him.

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"I don't see you stumbling around, and being able to sense intention is a huge asset to swordplay." Krest had spent nesrly a decade just learning how to sense intention to better protect himself from surprise attacks. Thankfully, it paid off on more than one occasion. He grinned wide at her look though, laughing.

"At least you're up for it! Come on, let's get you started yeah?"

"You have too seen me stumble around a bit."

Any poor feelings she might have had harbored for Krest were long gone. Jairdain was able to joke around about their past and enjoyed taking jabs at it now and then. So far he hadn't made any mention of her stopping, so she continued.

"Let's do this. Worst that happens...I learn I still can't hold a weapon properly."

[member="Darth Ferus"]

"Then pull your weapon out and lets see what you can do." Krest pushed himself up from his chair, grinning over to [member="Jairdain"] again. He was genuinely curious if she even could, and if she was wrong on her being unable to use it. He stretched himself out, yawning loudly before glancing around the room. "Outside yeah?"

If there was one thing Jairdain knew about Krest is that he enjoyed using his weapon. Though they had never in a physical battle, she remembered knowing this of him. He was also zabrak and formerly sith. Each group usually held physical battle in high regard and Krest was one of those numbers.

Finishing off her tea, she set the glass down and smiled when he mentioned he wanted to see what she could do.

"Out...yes."

Standing up and walking outside, her saber hilt was already on her hip and she nodded.

"Ready."

Pulling it off her belt, he might notice she was holding it left handed.

[member="Krest"]

"A lefty! Interesting. I suppose since you don't normally do much with your hands I never noticed." From his hip the Zabrak pulled his own saber out, igniting it with a simple push of a button. A crisp blue blade emerged, light and soft. A color he hadn't seen in a very long time himself. He peered down at the blade in surprise, forgetting that his weapon was no longer the red color of blood.

He shoot the idea from his head and quickly turned down the setting on his saber to nonlethal. "Set it to stun, and we'll begin yeah?"

[member="Jairdain"]

It might be a blessing or a curse, but Krest was right. She did not use her hands for much more than work. As for left or right, without being able to write, Jairdain had no clue which hand she would write with.

"This just feels right. Is this odd?"

Nodding when he suggested changing the setting, she adjusted it and a white blade extended from what should be a familiar looking hilt. This had been with her since before he had taken her captive and remained with her.

[member="Krest"]

"Nothing odd about it. Just find it funny I never bothered to think which hand of yours was dominant." Krest chuckled a bit before raising his blade before him. He moved it from side to side, up and down, having the tip tracel all around him.

All the while he spoke. "Can you 'see' this move by chance? I'm curious to know if this sort of weapon is in the realm of your sight or not. Depending will change how the training will go, yeah?"

Shaking her head at his question.

"No I can not see your blade. However, I can see your hands, the way you hold your hilt and hear the weapon."

To prove her point, Jairdain would attempt to mimic and mirror his moves. In a way it brought back her memories of when she was a new padawan with the Silver's. Before they had met and before she had been sent on a mission that got her captured for the first time. Krest had been the second time and had played a far greater role in her life.

"I know nothing more than some of what are called katas. When I've had to use my saber, well I've lost."

[member="Krest"]

"Being unable to see the blade certainly makes it a bit more difficult, but not impossible. I'm going to swing at you. There's a style I'd loke to see you try out. Feel with the force not for me or my weapon, but for danger. Sense the danger before it comes if you can, and block."

As soon as he was done speaking Krest lashed out with his saber with enough force to certainly leave a bruise should the saber connect. It was as real as he was willing tk make the strike so [member="Jairdain"] would have the realist setting possible, though if she failed to block he'd stop the strike less then an inch from her side. He wasn't trying to hurt her after all.

Listening to what Krest was saying and his instructions was a little odd. It had been a long time since she had taken any sort of lesson. More often she was the one doing the training. What he described wasn't a form or stance, but a Force ability.

As soon as he finished speaking, he made a fast last at her. While she knew their weapons were set to a training level, they could still hurt. What she did wasn't exactly what he asked for though and jumped away instead.

"Hey give me a moment. Need to figure out what you mean."

Provided he gave her that moment, she listened to the Force and nodded when she was ready. Bringing her saber up, she waited for him to make the next move.

[member="Krest"]

"Hmm? Ah, right. Sorry." He was admittedly use to training Sith, where immediately attacking was a major part of the training itself. So he stood and waited for her to be ready.

As soon as she said she was ready however he lashed out, lunging forward with impressive speed, though not enough to overwhelm her. "Be on guard yeah? I dont wanna hurt you."
