- This is a high quality makeup foundation/concealer that when warmed begins a very mild exothermic reaction that keeps the makeup at approximately 37°C although with adjustments of the ratio of Baradium to Pyronium in the recipe, this can be adjusted up or down by approximately 4 degrees each way.
- Side effects include blocked pores, potential hypersensitivity reactions and drying of the skin.
- The ingredient strengths above give a sustained temperature of around 37°C for 6-8 hours, dropping off slowly after that time as the reaction slows down. The ratios can be change to increase or decrease the desired temperature to suit different species, this is done via special order requests to the manufacturer and may incur additional charges for small quantities.
- The makeup is compatible with most widely available brands of makeup so can be used with the buyers existing makeup.
- Pot is insulated to keep the contents protected from warm environments but in particularly hot weather, refrigeration is recommended to prevent reaction progressing in the pot.
- Multiple colour pigments to match many different skin tones and colours. Our experts can find the best match for you.
- Keeps the face warm - has been tested in several cold climates down to -40°C for several hours and 95% of 200 users reported no discomfort associated with the cold and none of the test cohort recorded any cold related injury on areas covered by the makeup.
- Fantastic quality - this is not some chemical slop, this is fine quality and hasna good feel to it, making it acceptable for even the most discerning consumer.
- Expert sellers - the sellers are wel trained at skin matching and can make sure the recipe is tailored to your skin type and standard body temperature as required.
- Fairly drying of the skin - the warming effect and the chemicals can do the skin. Thankfully the manufacturer also stocks the perfect moisturiser to use at the end of the day to prevent dryness causing problems.
- Very expensive - like all top end makeup the price for this small tub of paste is surprisingly high, but the additional benefits of this product puts it in a good place amongst its competitors.
- Risk of skin reaction - an larger study of 4000 people found that around 7% had some form of irritation caused by the makeup, around half of these found the irritation enough to prevent use. And 3 people had a serious reaction to the makeup requiring medical treatment. All recovered with no last lon injury.
Isla, well known for taking great pride in her appearance and valuing her image as part of her professional air found that on missions that involved her attending cold climates, she was often lost under thermal protective gear.
She asked her military chemical engineers to look into a solution, funding the research herself, and in conjunction with a large existing makeup lab created this product. There were several development cycles and significant testing, but once Isla was happy with the product, Thermluxe Foundation/concealer was released to the wider market with big sales anticipated from world with beauty conscious populations but cold climates.
It is typically worn as a base layer but can be word over a primer, once an even coverage is achieved, then other makeup can be used to give colour, contouring or other desired effects.
There is a couple of issues with the makeup, most of these are common with many other traditional brands so they are not brand specific, but the chemical reaction involved has been reported to dry the skin, so the same company now sells a silky smooth high quality moisturiser to complement the concealer.
