Thinking about making a Silver or Lotus Jedi ...

So I was thinking of joining the Silver faction or the Lotus faction and was wondering if either would be willing to take on new people? I haven't ever created a character from scratch here so I'll be a total noob. Anybody willing to put up with that?

So Silver Jedi are very light warriors and Lotus Jedi are more humanitarians. Does that sound right?

Most silvers have a lot of humanitarian means and a large medical fleet. They also are lightside warriors working with the Antraian rangers. They are more isolationist preferring the area they control to be helped out and expanding outwards where they can but are always willing to lend a hand where needed.

[member="Katarine Ryiah"] Hi there, someone asked a similar question the other day about the differences between the different Jedi sects, so I'm just going to copypasta my answer I provided them.

I'm just going to touch on the Silver Jedi Order as a member and let Jedi from other groups speak for themselves. The Silver Order is a Jedi organization of light side and neutral members dedicated to protecting our slice of the galaxy from the Sith and other threats that may arise, which is more or less the south-east corner of the Chaos map under our sphere of influence, as represented by our silver blob. As stated above, as a group we don't often intervene in matters outside of our cloud, though some of us are more proactive or adventurous on an individual level, and you may see some of us acting alongside other groups like the Iron Empire or the Galactic Alliance in joint operations.

As far as philosophy goes, we are a light side organization but pretty lax in comparison to to Orthodox Jedi of the canon Jedi Order from the prequel movie trilogy. There's no rules against having a family or romantic interests, and you can pursue your own projects and interests. All that's really asked of our members is that you try to act decently in all your endevours as both a Jedi and just a person. We do accept Dark Jedi/Sith within our ranks, but only under the condition that they make a serious attempt at rehabilitation.

OOCily, the SJO is a faction that likes to focus on internal storylines or PvE. We try to maintain a relaxed atmosphere and steer clear of drama. We're not a faction big on initiating invasions or skirmishes against other groups, but we will always respond to attacks against us with full force.

If you have any other questions, then feel free to reach out to me, or poke your head into our faction forum to check around. I should point out that we're about to celebrate our third year anniversary as a faction, and are currently in the process on installing a new Grandmaster, Sorel Crieff.

On top of that, the SJO also places heavy emphasis on humanitarian work, we're just not neutral.

[member="Katarine Ryiah"] the rangers are allied witht he silver jedi and act as a military force backing them up on missions and generally helping to maintain law and order where they are stationed working with the local government. Non force users are welcome to join and lead them as well as in some of the other positions around.

Chiming in on OSL- The Order of the Sacred Lotus is a small faction, without hoards of NPCs or soldiers. Our focus is on providing aid and relief efforts, both as needed due to natural catastrophes and war. If you are familiar with the White Helmets operating in Syria think that plus Doctor's Without Borders and you have OSL.

We focus on an earlier version of the Jedi code that stresses *balance* rather than forbidding things like attachments.

Even though we are focused on aid and peace efforts, there is room for a wide variety of Jedi and Lightside types, from pilots to guardians and beyond. Feel free to PM me or stop by our forums if you have any questions
