Variant with shield taken off and energy pack on ground instead of being connected to super structure
Strengths:
- High Charge: The shear energy of the charge makes a single shot from this quite powerful, able to puncture the armor of most standard fighting vehicles (E.g. an ATST or average grav tank). The single coherent beam can be likened to having the cutting power of a light saber but with the width of a laser cannon, if but for a mere second.
- Pint Point: The use of one single coherent beam of energy, unlike a blaster, means that THLC will instantly hit what ever it aims at with dead accuracy, this make it hard to doge for enemies and makes aiming easier for the crew.
- Recharge: Due to the power in the weapon after each shot the THLC need several seconds to power back up to full power, thus making it a bad weapon to use again infantry and small fast moving targets.
- Weight: The THLC was made in mind to either be a stationary defense weapon or on craft, and though tow-able and relatively ease to load onto a transport once set up it can be difficult to redeploy it quickly, even with the battery pack and shield removed.
The THLC (often called a Thicl 'Tilk') is basically an oversize version of the already existing Phamas weapons made with the intend of being an anti-vehicle weapon that can be fitted onto APC, tanks or used in some sort of defensive role. Such a weapon came into play similar to the development of the hand held variants, that being the lack of Tibana gas available to the planet of Tythe due to other worlds and the CIS military. As such the Royal Armory, again with help from the Mechanicum went about designing an upscale version of the Phamas weapons to replace the usual laser cannon carried on fighter craft and other vehciles. They were successful in their endeavors though ran into a few problems with the power cell used, unable to make it fire with the required speed of most cannons. As such they opted to go for power over rate of fire, making a high energy single shot weapon ideal for taking out other vehicles with relative ease.
