  • Command Platform - The upper structure of the Tho Yor II Warship is designed so that the armor plating is capable of separating and retracting out of the way. This provides a sweeping, and often, commanding view of the area around the vessel when it has fully landed and deploy on a planet.

  • Planetary Lander - Designed to be capable of entering a planet's atmosphere; the overall pyramidal structure of the vessel ensures that it is capable of landing on the planet without additional assistance such as landing struts or a similar landing platform.

  • High Capacity - Less weaponry means more room for additional personnel and equipment. The Tho Yor II Warship focuses on ferrying personnel, equipment, starfighters and support vessels to planets that the CIS are reinforcing or otherwise assisting in joining the Confederacy.

  • Mobile Fortress - When established on a planet, the Tho Yor II Warship can attack as a Regional Fortress, providing a supply point for its troops and units operating near its landing site. While its weaponry is minimal when compared to other vessels; its armed capabilities are more than enough for planetary forces save for the heaviest armed and armored forces.

  • Minimally Armed - In terms of capital ships, the Tho Yor II Warship is less armed than many vessels of similar capabilities and class.

  • Weakened Armor - The weakest part of the vessel is its command deck at the top of the vessel. Due to the armor in that section being capable of withdrawing down and out of the way to provide a commanding view around the vessel when established on a planet. Weapon strikes in these areas during the time it takes the vessel to lift off, or even in transit have the potential of damaging or destroying the mechanisms that govern the lowering and raising of those sections armor plates.

  • Exposed Underbelly - When lifting off or landing on a world; or in transit between worlds, the bulk of the vessel's primary engine and vital components are vulnerable. Successive strikes to the underside of the vessel, or a lucky shot from a kid from a desert planet, could potentially destroy or damage the vessel. A damaged vessel would otherwise be incapable of landing on a planet below to safely offload its personnel and cargo.

  • Sitting... er... Duck - It takes time for the vessel to lift off from a planet that it has been stationary on or otherwise established a landing area. During this time the vessel is extremely vulnerable to enemy fire from vessels overhead or anti-vessel weaponry stationed on the ground. If not properly screened or protected during this duration, the vessel could potentially be damaged or destroyed.

Tho Yor II Warships are mobile fortresses, capable of landing on a planet to offload their cargo of personnel, equipment, and supplies in a more rapid manner - rather than rely on Dropships or Shuttles. The Warship is the first in a series of Pyramidal designed vessels produced by Von Sorenn Industries for use by the Confederacy of Independent Systems; named after the ancient Tho Yor vessels that brought the first force users to Tython - and a similar design utilized sometime in the years between 830 ABY to 840 ABY. Their capability to land on planets and establish the vessel as a fortress and command center is its greatest strength, among its capability of carrying and deploying a large number of Starfighter and Support vessel Squadrons.

The most unique feature of the vessel - its Command Platform - sees the upper section of armor at the peak of the vessel separate and retract to provide a command platform. From this location, commanders are capable of maintaining a sweeping and commanding view of the surrounding area around the landed Warship. In this configuration the vessel becomes an established warship; however, this section is also one of the greatest weaknesses for the vessel. Successive strikes to the area, either when the vessel is vulnerable while landing and lifting off from a planet - or during transit between worlds - has the potential to damage or destroy the mechanisms that govern this capability. This can potentially prevent the armor plating from retracting, or completely remove it from the vessel, leaving its interior vulnerable to additional attacks.

Likewise, it is most exposed when it has landed on a world; specifically at the mercy of defensive positions when landing - which leaves its engines and primary components exposed - or it an enemy vessel or vessels in orbit began to fire upon the Warship when landed. However, even with these problems, the design and the vessel's capabilities appear to more than makeup for the risks in fielding these vessels, making them a valuable asset to the Confederacy.
