DESCRIPTION
The design used by Thol Amroth is reflective of his status as a Jedi Knight, in that it is simple but effective, though nowhere near as complex as Master constructions. The weapon handle has been forged with songsteel plating, making it highly resistant to most damage sources. Also making use of non-dimetris circuitry components, as well as a locking activator, allows Thol to ensure his weapon would block cortosis and remain activated when he desired it. Also installed is a jolt cell, which fluctuates the blades properties to also inflict electrical damage to what it touches.

The weapon also houses multiple standard focusing crystals, which work in conjunction with dual-phase components, allowing the blade to adjust length near-instantaneously. The dual-phase settings for Thol's lightsaber include standard length (approximately 3' or 91") and an extended length (approximately 6' or 183"). Like some other dual-phase blades, it is also possible to double the width of the blade, independently of length.

The most prized component, by far, is the rare Etaan crystal used for the blade. This gives the crimson blade a pulsing appearance, as it flows with resonant energy in excessive amounts. The innate power of the crystal was realized when clashing against other lightsaber blades, which resulted in a near-deafening crack and flare of energy - bouncing opponent's blades back rather than locking with them, blade-to-blade. Additionally, when deflecting blaster bolts, the bolt would absorb a portion of the resonant energy, becoming increasingly dangerous when redirected back toward a target.

It is an excellent weapon for a lightsaber combatant who engages enemies in duels or needs to defend against blaster wielding foes.

Strengths:

• Can cut through many materials with relative ease, while also doing electrical damage alongside the standard plasma effects.
• Allows resistance to cortosis, and instead of shorting out the blade, it blocks.
• Songsteel plating makes weapon near indestructible and extremely light.
• Etaan crystal provides increased energy blade output, near-deafening crack on blade-to-blade impact, bounces other blades away, and increases blaster bolt deadliness when reflected/redirected at target.
• Dual-phase settings allow for near-instant blade length changes, for surprise and combat applications.

Weaknesses:

• Some materials, like Phrik and Beskar, are resistant to the blade of a lightsaber.
• The resonant impact crack is indiscriminate in what it affects, whether opponents or Thol.
• Lightsaber blades are weaker at blocking solid projectiles (slug rounds, etc).
• Cannot function underwater.
• Higher resonant energy blade makes for a louder lightsaber when activated.
