Thoughts on Battlefront

With the Beta for Star Wars Battlefront set to close tomorrow, I had a few things pop into my mind. Mainly seeing many people complaining about the Beta, or various aspects of it. I've seen people claim its become a COD rip off, while other's have complained about the game favoring the Empire, and I had the following thoughts that I had to write down.
I felt that it was only reasonable to share them as well.
Over the past week I've been enjoying the Star Wars Battlefront Beta that will be closing tomorrow.

One of the things that I've noticed is a lot of people either saying it sucks, or that it's just a COD rip off with DICE and EA slapped on it, as well as the unique star card abilities being too much like the COD perk abilities.

To those people whom have done nothing more than complain about the game through out the entire Beta and have already said they aren't going to purchase the game, or that it has been ruined, I have a simple thing to say.

Good. Don't purchase it. If you are going to look at a Beta of an unreleased game and base your accusations and state that you wont purchase it, or that the game is ruined, based off of a sliver of the over all product; that is fine. I will be more than happy while I play my copy knowing that there is extra room on the servers for those whom want to play the game.

I have seen a small fraction of what is being offered. Yes the Walker Assault on Hoth seemed to be one sided, and what the Rebellion wins (Which I've seen happen quite often) it is glorious. Many of said that was another reason they weren't going to purchase the game is because it seems to favor the Empire more, or that the game seemed to be in favor of the Empire.

That's the point. I felt that it matched the Movies perfectly. When you play as the Empire with the AT-ATs, the AT-STs, and TIE Fighters flying over head you feel invincible. You feel like a part of the massive Imperial War Machine that reigns supreme in the Galaxy. That is the feeling that you are meant to have.

When you play as the Rebellion and all you have are nodes to secure to call in Y-Wing strikes, and Anti-Infantry and Anti-Vehicle Turrets against this looming Titan of War, you feel like it is impossible. You feel like hell is about to rain down upon you, and that is how you are supposed to feel. When you win as the Rebellion you cheer and shout because you've stopped the unstoppable Empire.

The game is fine with it favoring the Empire because that is how it was in the Movies. The Empire was a Galaxy wide massive Military Force that could bring the power of multiple systems down upon a single point when it deemed necessary to do so.

The Rebellion on the other hand had to carefully choose its targets. They had to choose when to and when not to fight. They were fighting against the odds and so far from what I've played and experienced in the game; it feels the exact same way.

So please continue to miss the point. Continue to say that its unbalanced and that you feel like there is no point. That the game is rubbish and that EA has ruined it, or that DICE has ruined it, or that it has become a COD rip off.

I will be sitting there when it comes out, playing my copy (when I can get my hands on it) and enjoying the feeling that I'll get as the Empire stomping the hell out of the Rebellion, or enjoying the feeling that I get when I do the impossible and bring down the Empire.

That was also my hope, that they would have opened up one or two of the other game modes as the Beta Continued. It was more than enough though for me to enjoy myself and look forward to getting it as soon as I have the funds to do so.
