Three men and a babe

I may just the luckiest girl in all the Galaxy. I wake up every morning in my little studio in the upper city and go next door for a cup o' joe. Today is a rare occasion all three of my favorite people in like the history of forever are in town under one roof.

First there is Mr. X. Mr. X is actually not around too much. He's always out on his "fishing trips". He's gone about 200 days out of the year but he likes keeping tabs on me just like the other two gentlemen in my life. He may look tough but Mr. X is probably the biggest softy of the three. I can get him to agree to just about anything.

Then there is [member="Cross Ikon"]. Cross is a big time soldier out in the far reaches of space. I see him even less than I see Mr. X but I get it, he's got major responsibilities. I feel like it's always an extra special day when he's around. He's the least gruff looking of the bunch but you wouldn't know it by his reputation. He always looks at me like he has something he just wants to get off his chest, and I really want to know what it is, I just don't wanna press him too hard on it cause I hate to make our short time together so drama filled.

And finally there is @Xalus. Xalus is very quiet... like eerily so. He's the one who is always in town making sure I'm not getting into too much trouble. I can't tell you how many times he's been there for me, how many nights I've cried on his shoulder, he's even saved my life once or twice from some undercity punks.

They all used to work for my father's "Starship industry" and ever since he died they kinda picked up the slack. They don't have any kids of their own and so they all kinda share that sorta responsibility. Sure I'm seventeen been at the age of reason for more than a year now but it's nice having them around. They're basically the only family I have.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Kiandra burst through the door of Xalus' apartment with a big grin on her face. She looked around the table at her three men, she couldn't be more excited that they were there. [member="Xar "]appeared to be looking at the Galactic News. Xalus sitting in the corner, still not eating... as a matter of fact she had never actually ever seen him remove his helmet. Cross was in the kitchen whipping up something that smelled just out of this world good.

"Good morning, guys!" She said walking up to each of them and planting a big kiss on their respective cheeks.... except for Xalus, she kissed him on the visor of his helmet.

"So what's on the agenda today? Galactic Museum? Park? I hear the Opera is pretty good this time of year." Her eyes sparkled signifying her excitement that they were all in one place for the first time in what seemed like forever.

This was a rare occasion indeed to have all three pseudo fathers in the same room with their adopted daughter. Xar, a Firrerreon born and raised on Corellia sat there on the couch reading flimsy news print when [member="Kiandra Kinases"] burst into the apartment and ambushed him with a kiss on the cheek. The six foot eight mountain of a humanoid, chiseled to perfection, slowly looked up from the flimsy to gaze upon the human female he has aided in raising.

Xar's third eyelid, a nictitating membrane, grazed over his good eye moistening it on pure reflex as he kept in the moment of staring at girl while she moved on to the next father in the room. How did they survive this long was a pure mystery but here they were, three dangerous men able to foster and raise a girl in this unruly galaxy. "In all nine hells will I ever go to the opera" The big guy snarled in a huff as his eyes now glanced back to the flimsy. More specifically he was looking at the obituaries seeing if anyone has tagged more ravens. Seems the war between the black sun and the Ravens has kicked up making the galaxy that much more profitable to a man like Xar.

"Besides, Little One! Wouldn't you rather come with me and blow something up?" The Corellian Firrerreon was obsessed with explosives. "If not, I am sure pretty boy" He pointed towards Cross Ikon " Would fit in just fine at the opera"

I looked over at Xar, and grimaced. Bastard was trying to make me go to the opera, now? I'm really not the biggest fan of having people in robes scream unintelligible sentences into the air. It hadn't escaped my notice that he was looking at the paper. Sure, I usually looked at the holos for that sort of thing, but whatever. I flipped my hair jokingly, and kept cooking breakfast. Bacon. Because no matter what planet I was on, ditch I'd fallen into, or half-dead ship I was flying, fried strips of animal butt would always keep me going.

I hadn't been around long enough to know her father, seeing as only about five years ago I was in stasis, but the name "Kinases" had sparked an odd curiosity that I couldn't sate. I'd known her great-times-something grandfather nine hundred years ago. Good guy, and a good shot to have covering your back. I couldn't remember where I'd met Kiandra, but some odd protective instinct had led me to try and take care of the girl (who was twelve at the time) when I heard her name. Rikki had called it 'paternal instincts'. I had called Rikki crazy. She didn't disagree with the label.

"Hi, there, princess. Still didn't move out of this tiny place, huh? Poor Xalus hit his head on the door again."

I looked, almost mesmerized, at the bacon in the pan, and then finally shrugged and ate it the next time I flipped it past my face.

"I don't like operas. It's the one place where I have to listen to things screaming without just plugging 'em out of their misery."

Wiping my beard off from the bacon, I started on pancakes.

"Too bad I didn't bring Rikki with me, though. She likes museums. They give me war flashbacks. 'Specially the Clone Wars exhibits."

Often times when Xalus sat alone he was tinkering away at something on his HUD. Sometimes browsing the HoloNet, other occasions were full of intense non-verbal action as he slid screens past with his eyes and gather intelligence on his targets. While the mercenary attempted to remain here to take care of this young one, he had to make a living and keep his name near the top of the ladder rankings. A day passing without progression was one that was wasted - especially in the competitive world of a bounty hunter. Such was the life of a lonely "man" and his charge.

Speaking of her, she happened to barge into the little apartment complex with a broad grin before planting a smooch right upon his visor as he pulled up the profile of a possible acquisition. The Gen'Dai returned what was actually a heartfelt recognition of a nod. Xalus didn't exactly like to talk much. He'd learned in his near thousand year existence that the less you talked, the more people listened when you actually did. That was especially the case for this young girl standing before him, a twinkle in her eyes and a mindset on the here and now.

As for the other two men, Xalus merely regarded them with cold calculation. He had nothing against him, he would probably even treat his owner mother the same - if he knew who she was. Xalus mentally shrugged.

"I will go wherever you desire," he said, deep and gruff, "But I wish to show you something."

He hesitated for a fraction of a second. "Show you later, I will."

She scowled at [member="Xar "]and [member="Cross Ikon"] "Now, now.... You two know better than to talk about work at the breakfast table." She said glancing across the room at one of her padrino's rifle haphazardly thrown upon the couch. She drummed her fingers on the counter and then decided to steal some of Cross' bacon off his plate as his 'punishment'. Sure she was in a room with deadly killers but she could more than hold her own. She took a bite and very unlady-like began speaking with her mouth full, "I should make you guys take me." She said with a faux grumpy look on her face.

Then she let out a sigh, "Hmmm... but maybe I'll let you guys off easy.... see there's this wonderful little airspeeder I've had my eye on and well I'm just a tad short on the credits....." Her lips curled up into a smile as her bright eyes darted from one surrogate father to another. "It beat walking home on these dangerous street at night from my COMPLETELY LEGITAMATE job."

"And whatever you need to tell me, [member="Xalus"] you can tell me on the way." She said with a quick nod as if it wa decided already.

"You clever girl" The overly large humanoid responded as he lifted his attention off the flimsy and back upon [member="Kiandra Kinases"] with both his good and shiny eye "You knew we would bail on the opera and use your daughterly wiles to guilt and shanghai us into buying a landspeeder" There was a moment of pride in the tone of his voice. The girl was smart, deceptive and goal driven what more would a father want in his daughter. Well sides from being trained in martial arts, heavy weapons, explosives, survival techniques, escape and evasion along with piloting and other deadly smashy things. Though Xar was convinced that the girl learned how to use make up from direct tutelage under [member="Cross Ikon"].

"Please tell me that my girl is choosing a vehicle with big guns!"

I shook my head, grinning. My red hair sort of flowed around behind my head as I did so.

"Stealing my bacon, huh? Nice way to say thanks for a present. Of course, you didn't even see the present, yet, eh?"

I ate some more of my bacon, and then swore loudly as I remembered the now-burning pancakes. I flipped them. The undersides weren't burned too badly. I smirked at Xar, and cocked my head.

"Of course it has guns on it, X. I don't build crappy machines."

She smiled at [member="Xar"] 's compliment.

"Well you know me... raised by the best." And truly she believed it. There was something about being raised by borderline psychopaths that really brought out something strong within her. While for the most part she learned to be a scrapper early on she also picked up a few techniques from the guys. Whether it was piloting, handling various weapons or picking up some martial arts. She certainly wasn't a pushover. But the thing she gained the most was how not to act like the men that surrounded her. Not all examples were good ones and though she loved the beer swilling, feet on the coffee table, nose picking brutes she was still a lady.

Her eyes brightened at [member="Cross Ikon"] 's suggestion of a gift. "Present?" She stuck her hands out and smiled at him.

I smiled back and held up a finger while I snapped up the rest of my bacon. Then, I pointed out the window, down to the street.

"Present."

Washing the whole thing down with a glass of whiskey, I stepped up to the window, and waited for Kiandra to notice the blue and gold speeder parked almost directly under us on the street.
