Three UP, One Down

Coruscant wasn't a great place to live sometimes it could be riddled with crime and deception. Rekha had learned a lot about it in all the time she had been here.

Rumors were spreading constantly about movement of gangs, and planned jobs. All she had to do was spend an hour walking around The Lucky Lady and she'd hear all kinds of things. Course she had to work at finding what was the truth and what wasn't. Then she had to decide what to do about it.

There were a few law enforcement coming around lately. She could have just walked over and gave the information to them but she wanted in on some of this action. Being the barmaid and owner sometimes only left her with breaking up a few brawls she wanted something that would make her blood go.

So...when she got the tip about the Crimson Circle attempting to pull three jobs on the same night to add a little chaos to Coruscant, she knew she wanted in and she had this hair stand up on your neck moment that said...that's not the real target.

Right now she waited for whomever the Coruscanti would send for her to talk to.

There was no place Detective Terrix would rather be than Coruscant. Even undercover in the Undercity where no natural light penetrated, the blonde CSF agent relished the intrigue and noir of the nightlife and colorful, dangerous denizens who inhabited it. Wearing a white dress and black, strappy stilettos, she’d settled into a third night at The Lucky Lady. Twirling an index finger around the rim of her martini glass, she went over the facts that she was able to unveil to date.

There was an active gang in the neighborhood called the Crimson Circle. They were planning something big.

But that was it. Even her cover as a Nar Huttian crime lady here on temporary business hadn’t exactly exposed some huge criminal plot. But Basca was hopeful.

Her martini - dirty with a fat, juicy olive - was at the end of its lifespan. Lifting up the same index finger she tried to get the barmaid’s attention. Hopefully the lovely brunette was down for a little neighborhood gossip in addition to getting her another drink, maybe a Gapanga fruit cocktail this time.

Oh look Rekha thought the finger gesture, gotta love it when they think you are at their beck n call. Oh yeah...she considered sending the newbie over to deal with the woman but Rekha being who she was opted to do it herself. Why not...let's have a little fun.

"Sup" She smiled at the blonde she was drinking one of those high brow drinks a martini with an olive...well at least it didn't have a parasol, and fruit. There were something that the Keladian couldn't handle those drinks that people had that were so sweet you couldn't taste the alcohol. Feth if they wanted fruit juice why didn't they just order fruit juice?

She shook her head driving herself nuts with her own internal conversation.

Yeah yeah she knew it was their money they could buy what they wanted, and if she stopped complaining for a moment she'd remember they were in the bar...buying from her.

"You want another, or you up for something else?"

“I’d like a Rhuvian fizz with Gapanga fruit. If you don’t have that, another martini will do.” If Basca were to become too inebriated to aim straight, she had a stim-shot full of vitamins and adrenaline packed away in her small clutch bag. But since she was on a fact-finding mission, the Detective did not predict using the medicine nor the blaster which was holstered to her thigh.

“But before you get that…” Basca opened the white shiny purse and flashed a few credit chits at the waitress. “I bet you hear a lot of stuff around here. I’m looking for information about the Crimson Circle. Do you know anything about them?”

Drumming her long red nails on the scratched up table - the graffiti had been interesting to read to say the least - she continued, knowing that if she blathered on, her time with the barmaid would be short. “I’m Kavra Twilight. White Serpent Clan. Nal Hutta.”

Fruity drink no parasol..she smiled broadly as she laughed internally. She was eyeing what she needed to make the drink when the other shoe dropped. The offer of credits, and a request for information.

She leaned on the bar toying with the chits, taking the one she needed to pay for the drink. "I hear lots of things." She heard some she even at times started some. Fortunately so far no one seemed to notice or care. Customers all around them and most of them only interested in their food and drinks.

White Serpent Clan. Rekha arched a brow. "You're far from home Kavra Twilight. You come all the way from Nal Hutta for information about Crimson Circle. A holo call might have sufficed." Information brokers were available usually having paid for all the information needed, with a side supply of what could be provided for free. Rekha wanted to know what exactly was Kavra Twlight looking for. Confirmation of something? Numbers? Hang outs? hmmm what could it be.

"Why don't you tell me a few specifics of what you are looking for." Rekha wasn't sure who was playing the game here. While she herself enjoyed the occasional game of cat and mouse tonight wasn't really a good night for such things.

The detective’s cerulean eyes glittered with interest as the barmaid began to speak of what she’d heard. Play it cool, Bas. This woman's acting might be better than yours - undoubtedly so, in fact - and then you’ll be out of credits before you know it with no useful information.

Suspicion hung between them like a cloud of cigarra smoke.

“There is some kind of business one cannot do remotely. Let’s just say I like a hands-on approach,” she said, waving away the fact that she was a long way from her presumed home planet. Out of her clutch bag, what followed the credit chit was a flimsi copied from a hologram of a man with a long and prominent nose and dark, flowing hair.

“I’m looking for Merasska Cormin. He used to be a member of the Serpents, but I hear he’s working for the Circle. No vendetta here. I just want to talk to him. To lure him back if you know what I mean.”

Truthfully Merasska had been her lover and an informant, but he’d disappeared recently. While Basca could keep her emotions separate from her work, she more or less worried that he had either been executed or was planning something big, something that would cause him to reject the witness protection program he was headed towards.

“You’re attractive and Merasska likes his women. Perhaps he tried to hit on you one night? He has a memorable face," she said with sincere nostalgia for better times with the man.

It was evident that Kavra, if that was her name, had not dealt with Rekha before. If she had she wouldn't have opened that one particular door. The brunette couldn't help but go through it.

"I always enjoy 'hands on'" She leaned on the bar a little more looking at what she was producing from her bag. A flimsi Rekha took it carefully and stared at the man. hmm...interesting eyes the hair and nose weren't lost on her either. He was a bit of an aristocrat it appeared it was the nose why did all aristocrats have the bump in their nose.

Lure him back...she had to think now. She straightened up and looked toward Jarrod and wiggling a finger for him to come on over. "my first mate." Jarrod large and lumbering, with his big paws stood next to his boss. Rekha gave him a quick glance..."mon Loup, what do you think?'

Jarrod groaned and nodded then walked away.

Rekha smiled, "yeah...tell ya what sweetheart why don't you walk with me back to my office. Put your hand around my waist folks will think we're getting cozy...then we can talk." She handed the flimsi back.

"What do you say?" Rekha leaned over and kissed her cheek then backed up winked at her and headed to the end of the bar. She'd either come, or sit. Up to her as Rekha stood waiting for a moment.
