SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Turbo-booster: The Thrinx comes equipped with a basic turbo-booster package installed, allowing the craft to briefly accelerate faster than normal at the cost of maneuverability and power.
  • Expanded Powercell bank: The Thrinx is designed to be used for long-range transport runs which means that it has a larger number of powercells than normal in order to give it greater range. A Thrinx can run continuously for over a week at average cruising speeds before needing to get recharged.
  • Projected HUD: The ceraglass windshield doesn't just protect the user from the elements and enemy fire, but it also has several diminutive holo-projectors built into its frame that allow it act as the surface for a projectable heads-up display. This allows navigational data and information from sensors to easily be displayed for the user to see even at high speeds.
  • HUD Link: The Thrinx can be link to its user's HUD through a direct datalink or wirelessly, allowing users to keep quick track of their surroundings and the vehicle's performance without having to look down at the speeder's control panel. It's also particularly handy for controlling the speeder's MAST turret if the device is installed in the speeder's bed.
  • Particle Shield: The Thrinx sports a light-duty particle shield that protects the speeder and its occupants rom from wind, sand, rain, and other common atmospheric debris. This generator can also nudge the craft away from glancing collisions. It does not provide any protection from weapons.
  • Psykhe-series Droid Brain: Thrinx has an integrated droid brain that allows the speeder to operate itself in emergencies (such as when the driver is wounded) and act as a safety assistant autopilot in high speed chases. It also helps automatically interprets sensor data, provides real time diagnostic information, and can also control the MAST turret if installed.
STRENGTHS
  • Maneuverable: The Thrinx's powerful repulsorlift systems allow it to make quick and tight turns.
  • Fast: The Thrinx's solid repulorslifts and outboard ion thrusters make it a fairly fast landspeeder. With its turbo-boost activated, it can catch up to most speeder bikes and even some swoops.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Armament: The Thrinx has no weapons of any kind.
  • Open Top: While the Thrinx does have a retractable canvas roof that can cover the body, it's open top nature makes it riders and cargo vulnerable to enemy fire.
DESCRIPTION
The Thrinx is a relatively plain and unassuming speeder designed to act as a rugged utility transport, whether its hauling victuals to remote scout camps in the mountains or hauling heavy munitions to the front lines. As primarily a logistical vehicle, the Thrinx's greatest asset is its modular cargo bed, which has a variety of slots and attachment slots fitted into the floor and sides, allowing different seats, benches, and cargo fasteners to be installed with a minimum of work. In fifteen minutes, a Thrinx can change from a general purpose cargo hauler carrying several thousand kilograms of cargo to a basic transport for a squad of infantry. It's not uncommon to see them carrying a mixture of cargo or people depending on the owner's needs. While unarmed in order to maximize cargo space and economic efficiency, the Thrix can be fitted with a modular auxiliary systems turret just behind the front row of seats. Most often, this turret is a tractor beam projector in order to assist with moving cargo in and out of the speeder or a sensor jammer to better prevent the speeder from being targeted. But most often, the Thrinx relies on its good speed and maneuverability to survive hostile encounters. Most militaries need some sort of logistical support which almost guarantees that the Thrinx will be built and sold in large numbers, even if its unglamorous vehicle.
