Private Through Life and Loss

The young woman certainly felt like she had been around the block a few too many times and just needed to take a break. Walking off the public transport onto this new world, she looked out over the city and to the lands beyond. She wanted to push her body to its limits and see what she could or could not do. It had been a long time since the last time she had done this and the cyborg had the feeling she had grown weak.

Since she considered her having fallen down a few notches in her abilities, she bought a few supplies...just in case, she needed them. With a bit of haste, the former Sith headed out of the city and into the countryside. Without a map, all Bryn could do was rely on her instincts to guide her and keep her safe. She had once been in the Nightmare Lands of Kashyyyk and came out from there alive. She could do that here too and she did not sense anything nearly as threatening here.

Drawing in a breath as she reached the top of a hill, there was a valley below. Turning to look at the sky, she should have enough time to find or create some shelter for herself and stay put for the night. Following the natural flow of the land, she stopped for a moment on the way down. Looking around, she could tell some of the animals were starting to find their sleeping places for the night and the nocturnal ones were starting to come out of hiding.

She would need to find a location sooner rather than later. Covering her mouth as she yawned, she thought she spied a cave not too far above where she was. Of course, it was on a cliff face but that was to be expected. Heading in that direction, when she was close enough she used the Force to finish the way up and found herself in a cave that seemed like it might already be in use.

Placing a hand on one of her daggers, she started slowly walking over the threshold...

The older man felt her presence long before he saw her. Her presence in the force may have been diminished but it was nevertheless still strong enough to be detectable by those attuned with the flow of the force.
Parageon stepped out towards the woman as she neared the mouth of the cave, a large, white staff held in his hand as he looked upon the women, his robes slightly tattered and withered but still made of fine white cloth, his beard as white as a cloud on a sunny day. His eyes were as blue as the ocean on a fine spring day.
"Come the creatures of the night do not enjoy the smell of humanoids and will come for you if you linger past dawn. I am a friend and have a safe and warm place to take refuge for the night if you are so inclined."
The man eyes the woman in front of him, his presence soft and warm, his body showing decades of wear, but his connection with the force as strong as a Rancors strength. He hoped that this woman would take his advice and take him up on taking refuge within the place he had called home.

With her hand on the hilt of her knife, she just stopped when an old man started coming out of the cave. Looking at him from head to toe and back up again, the cyborg met his blue eyes and for whatever reason, she relaxed. Taking her hand away from it, she faced the old man directly.

"Why are you welcoming me so warmly?"

Even though the question was out in the open, she still stepped forward. Not taking off anything she wore, Bryn looked like she would take off at the first sign of danger. Maybe. The other course of action the former Sith could do was to fight. However, unless she had been on a mission to do this, she had never killed anybody.

Standing face to face with the man, she waited on his answer before making a decision. Not entirely letting her guard down, she watched his body as a whole.

The older man felt the woman in front of him ease slightly, but he knew better to believe that she would trust him so quickly. He had been around for long enough to know that even using the force you could not fully find the confidence of others.
"Because those who have touched the darkness do much to protect themselves. To come out without extending warmth would be foolish, you have seen much in your years and still have much more to see. For now, though, let us seek shelter, and mayhap we can learn more about one another."
Parageon looked at Bryn, he saw the hurt and the pain that the young woman had gone through and knew that in her few years of life had experienced much that most people would never have to live through.
All the older gentleman could do was motion towards the interior of the cave before he walked away, the darkness of the cavern slowly taking his form before he disappeared completely from her sight, the only thing at her back was the dying son, and the only thing in front of her was the darkness of the cave.

She tilted her head to the side slightly at his words. Still, without any sign of hostility to her, Bryn decided to allow him to welcome her. Taking her hand from her weapon she followed the movement of his invitation and went into the darkness after him.

Her cybernetic eye adjusted to the darkness faster than her organic one but the cyborg was used to this by now.

"Thank you for the invitation. You can call me Bryn. I am still curious about something. What are you doing out here all alone?"

Maybe he was also a seeker of answers or perhaps their meeting had been guided by something stronger than she expected. Bryn wasn't one to say it was the Force to herself or anybody else, but deep in her mind, the thought touched there briefly before she pushed it away.
