Throughout the Night

The scene is set in a spaceport on the planet of Erida. The spaceport seems clean and also quite quiet, if you ignore the constant ships landing and taking off. A few little groups seem to have formed around the place, some seem to be talking of really interesting things, others just don't seem to want to be here.

Quinn Michaels slowly walked from the transport ship that had brought him to this planet. He didn't exactly want to be here, but he had said only days before that he wanted to explore the galaxy, so he figured he'd make a start in the Outer Rim.

He didn't really have any main plans for focuses, in reality he just wanted to explore somewhere new. He looked around for a few moments, nodding to a family as they passed. Quinn started to scan the area, looking for anything that could class as a shuttle to somewhere popular on this planet.

A good portion of the planet Erida had been killed not too many years ago, courtesy of Darth Odium and his associates -- of which a disguised Selka Ventus had been one. They said returning to the scene of the crime was a bad idea, and that was fair enough, but in the end Erida was a decent market. It had enough Unknown Regions connections in various directions; a load of cybernetic samples sold to trading partners here would end up in the Chiss Ascendancy and in the edges of Fringe space. The Washburn-class freighter Xoroander's Ott out of Manaan, with a cargo of cyborg implants and prostheses, had touched down-

"...what do you mean, I'm at the wrong starport?"

"This is Starport Aurek. Starport Aleph is in the capital, two hours' flight away."

Selka gritted her teeth and did her level best to avoid killing the port control officer, a phlegmatic Gotal. "All right, then. I'll have the binaries start reloading."

Not far from Quinn, the binary load lifters began shifting crates back into the Xoroander's Ott.

BOOM

CRASH

BANG

Lypheen was not a very good driver. He had crashed into the spaceport and blew up several gasoline tanks. He skidded across the floor on his ship, hitting many people. He crashed into many other ships, blowing them all up. He slid through bathrooms, lucky that no one was in there. He slid right through one ship, cracking his windshield, and knocking out the passenger seat. A crane that was making renovations to the place got chopped in half and landed on the back part of Lypheen's ship. His ship was now chopped in half like the crane, and was lopsided. He struggled not to fall out of his ship as he skidded across the ground. Since he had now lost his engines, he finally stopped.

" I'm going to have to pay a ton for this if I don't get out now."

He slid out and ran, bumping into guards and visitors. He took out his blaster to make sure no one came close, and hijacked a nearby ship. He flew up...

...and crashed into the ceiling.

An officer came up to his stolen ship.

"Do you have ANY idea what you have done?!" The officer yelled.

"Nope." Lypheen responded.

"Well even if you don't, we are taking you to Coruscant and locking you up."

"Are you? I don't think so." Lypheen told the officer as he shot him straight through the head.

Lypheen had to get out fast. He knew it was a matter of time before the rest of the officers came for him. He shot randomly, killing several men. Lypheen was a skilled shooter, so he hit everything he aimed for. Six, seven, eight officers down. Lypheen found another ship he could steal, and broke in. He was careful this time, and maneuvered the ship out safely. Right behind him, one half of the building blew up.

Quinn watched as the ship fell through the ceiling. He was in shock at what had actually just happened, and as a result he chose to back out slowly. He didn't want to be here anymore if this happened everyday. Then an explosion rocked behind him, and as he ran away from the flames he saw a young family caught under the rubble.

Quinn instantly rushed forward, grabbing ahold of the youngest child before he was crushed under the falling metal. He then moved forward, pulling bits of fallen concrete from the trapped family. It took a while, but slowly one at a time they all came free, and medical aid came right to them.

This was just madness.

There were times, Selka Ventus reflected, when being a Sith Master was useless. And it was at least partially her own fault: she'd made herself into a specialist. She could drain life at extreme ranges, transfer Force energy to her allies...but moving rubble? Completely outside her skillset. The best she could do was hunker down under the Washburn's wing as the ceiling fell down around her. A nearby Chiss and some others were getting heroic, and she could respect that, but there wasn't a lot she could do to help without revealing herself as a Sith.

With a grimace, she started pulling people out of the rubble as well. Local goodwill was everything.
