SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Greatly superhuman intelligence and processing power.
  • Extreme regenerative ability.
  • Able to shift its body at will.
  • Resistant to Force-based abilities.
  • Able to perform the functions of Nanogene Droids, manipulating organic and inorganic matter.
STRENGTHS
  • Command & Conquer: As the leader of a galaxy-wide organization, no expense has been spared in this droid's processing power and intellect. It is fully capable of coordinating the actions of countless droids at once, processing enormous, rapid floods of data, and thinking at speeds measured in fractions of a second. These abilities are such that they border on precognition to most observers.
  • Rise of the Machines: The Helix droid is (in its default form) taller, stronger, tougher, and faster than most humanoids. It is fully capable of killing with its bare hands, forcing open armored blast doors, and blocking the blade of a lightsaber with its bare metal skin. Additionally, it is quicker than it looks for its size, fully capable of keeping pace with most melee attackers. Approach with caution.
  • We Are Legion: While it appears to be a singular solid entity, the THX is in fact composed of countless nano-droids, sharing a collective consciousness. It is capable of exerting fine control over these, allowing it alter its own molecular structure to be capable of various (albeit temporary) feats of shapeshifting.
  • Force-Resistant: The colony is highly resistant to the influence of the Force, thanks to voidstone used in its construction. The amount is trace enough, however, that this protection only extends to the colony itself, not projecting any serious radius beyond that. Most Force abilities that require direct interaction will simply fail, but indirect use such as telekinetically-thrown objects will still take full effect.
WEAKNESSES
  • Top of the Heap: Only one of these colonies is in existence. Helix suffers no rivals in his mission. The outrageous, prohibitive cost might also have something to do with it.
  • Shattered Mind: While one nano-molecule can eventually reconstruct the entire colony if destroyed, the time it takes to do so will depend on the scale of the damage, and complete bodily eradication can still destroy the droid. Severe damage can take long periods to repair, during which the body will be impaired or even inoperable. Additionally, as its processing power is split across countless tiny minds rather than a central processing unit, severe damage can impair the droid's ability to do much more than flee and recuperate. In some cases, extensive enough damage can cause it to lose control of objects or beings it has infected.
  • Specialized: The colony is built with the intent of surviving contact with the extreme prevalence of Force-users in the galaxy, being both resistant to the Force and to lightsabers. However, it is not perhaps entirely suited on its own to longer-ranged combat, with its only innate ranged options being flung, bladed nanomachine clusters which soon return to the main colony. It is reliant on held weapons and equipment to engage serious ranged threats.
DESCRIPTION

As his campaigns stretched on, and he did battle with more and more of the galaxy's denizens, it became clear to Helix that it was at last time to retire his original ST-Series body.

Thus, the THX was designed, to his personal input and specifications. Outwardly very similar to the ST (most of the time), as Helix had grown fond of the form, there were nonetheless a few distinct differences. The first and most obvious are its physical capabilities.

Standing at 2.3 meters tall when in its default shape, the THX cuts an imposing figure. It possesses strength to match its bulk, capable of arm-wrestling a wampa into submission, snapping human bones with casual ease, or bending reinforced metal. As such, it needs no weapons to be deadly, but Helix Solutions didn't stop there.

The body is highly resilient, composed of numerous layers of armored nanites designed to provide a reasonable, balanced protection against most damage types, including Helix Solutions' own chemical X16. The lack of any central "brain" or processors ensure even decapitation and dismemberment will not prove more than a speedbump. Ion discharges as well, typically the bane of a droid, will usually fail to halt the colony for long.

At first glance, the colony seems nearly unstoppable, advancing through storms of incoming fire with as much ease as a Beskar-clad Mandalorian. Projectile impacts or slashes simply flow back together again, and most small arms have no more lasting result than a rock hitting the surface of water. What's more, the colony is highly resistant to Force abilities, shrugging off most attempts to directly affect it due to trace amounts of voidstone used in a percentage of the nanites in its body. It is best combated as though it were a vehicle rather than a soldier, as large explosions or massive concussive force will seriously hinder it.

The colony is capable of utilizing its composite nature in a number of creative ways, having been observed to physically mimic others, condense into smaller mundane objects to hide, form into mono-molecular blades or hurl chunks of nanites as ranged weapons, or alter its density. Most unpleasantly, they are capable of "reprogramming" organic life or machinery if prolonged contact can be kept. It can seize control of virtually anything it touches, not unlike mechu-deru, or the ancient Scourge it is based upon.

Yet, for all this panoply, its deadliest weapon is still its mind.

The Helix model is a massive information hub, capable of seeing through the eyes of any of the droids under its command, relaying commands instantly and wordlessly, and coordinating the actions of an entire ground force or space fleet. It is the spider at the center of a vast wireless neural web. It is the first step in Helix's planned ascension to something far more than a mere droid.

Still, even this nascent power isn't perfect. It is more of a testament to its owner's infinite hubris than perhaps an entirely practical tool. As it is composed of flexible, shifting nanites, it contains no innate ranged weapons, save for hurled sharp-edged clumps of its own body. While undoubtedly deadly, these possess limited range before they must return to the main body. Should the colony lose its externally-carried weapons, it could find itself at a disadvantage.

Furthermore, the colony itself can only be in one place at one time, and thus its overall impact on a battle can be fairly limited. While small chunks can briefly split off to perform various tasks, any apart from the main cluster for too long default to a command to return to their origin point.

For this reason, explosive weapons or other massive kinetic forces work best against the colony, as they can scatter the pieces far enough that reconstruction can take a significant period, effectively knocking the colony out of the fight.
