'I'm here, Father. I know you may not approve of me stealing the Senate Building for my own gains, but I can't let House Vodus die. Thyrsus will become the paradise you envisioned, and our people shall never again be shackled. I promise.'
"Promissio," Atos whispered.

The day had come that Atos would give his acceptance speech. It had been a troublesome path... his expedition on Thyrsus for the death of his parents, the acceptance by the Sun Guard to his position as Son of Suns, gathering of supplies and parts for his new ship so that it showed not one ounce of favoritism yet it showed Thyrsian ingenuity, then the problem he faced on his ship where he lost crew on the journey to Coruscant. He was exceptionally thankful to Commodore Cynthia Alucard and Senator Gracin, without their help he wouldn't have been able to save so many lives. Yet now, he risked his own future, and his peoples with what some may call an inflammatory speech. Atos believed those claims would merely come from jealousy, that Thyrsus, a dustbowl planet no better than Tattooine, would ever rise to such prominence as Coruscant. He was here to change that.

He felt he had given enough time to the Senate Chamber to gather, hoping HoloNet news was prepared to make this public broadcast for the entire connected galaxy. He slowly stepped onto his repulsorpod with two Sun Guard escorts at his flanks. As his repulsorpod began to rise, stealing the attention from the room, he took a breath. He was sure to be winded after this speech. But a leader must not only be good in combat, yet he must also be good in charisma.

"Thank you all for welcoming me into your Senate, it is an honor to be part of the Galactic Government. I stand before you today with profound gratitude as I accept the esteemed position of Senator for the resilient planet of Thyrsus. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to the Galactic Alliance for entrusting me with the responsibility to represent the interests and aspirations of my fellow Thyrsians on this grand stage. As many may say; Doing the right thing - In the spirit of unity and cooperation, let us strive to foster understanding and collaboration among the diverse worlds that make up our alliance. Together, we can navigate the challenges that face us and build a brighter future for all. However, as I embark on this journey, I am compelled to share a vision that extends beyond the confines of traditional political discourse. For Thyrsus, my home, is not just a planet; it is a beacon of hope, a realm awaiting its true destiny. The Thyrsian people have been through many great struggles - and I know, I know, Thyrsus is not the only planet in this Galactic Alliance - or this Galaxy - that has been extorted, leveled, and enslaved. But please understand, while I am part of a Galactic Body now, my thoughts and memories are still of my Home. This is an achievement for the people of Thyrsus, and not one I take for granted." Atos took a breath, becoming a slight bit unsteady, but then he thought of his mother. His nerves calmed, he knew his path.

"And that is why I hope you will entertain me for but a moment. I must state for the record that I promise to adhere to the agreements made for Thyrsus' induction into the Alliance, and I welcome any challenge or question further. However, I must announce my own ambitions for Thyrsus, and my people." He took a breath, "there has been somewhat of an awakening on Thyrsus, and many of them claim that a Son of Suns has arrived, as prophesized hundreds of years before the battle of Yavin. They believe the Chosen One would navigate the "Golden Path" and lead the Thyrsians to paradise, transforming the desert world of Thyrsus into a lush and thriving planet. My esteemed colleagues, I must speak of a prophecy that echoes through the sands of Thyrsus, a prophecy that foretells the coming of a new era, guided by the Son of Suns. Today, that Son stands before you, a vessel for the aspirations of an entire people.

"The Golden Path, as it is known, beckons us to create the paradise that is destined for Thyrsus. The Golden Path, or The Way, giving extraordinary mental and physical capabilities. My mother had these abilities, but I was certainly different. Among my people, I felt like a freak for being even capable of the following The Path, while many others could not even taste it." He took a breath, he couldn't take much longer, he knew the Senate would inevitably try and shut him down, but there was more to be said. "I extend an impassioned call to my fellow Thyrsians, scattered across the galaxy in the wake of the Echani rule, those who left their home so long ago, to heed this call. Return to the embrace of Thyrsus, and together, we shall fulfill the prophecy. We will make a home you are proud of. You will have your home back."

"I follow the Golden Path which my mother laid out for me, but with her gone, I, even now, navigate it the rest of the way. The city of Thyrsia proves Thyrsus can be a paradise. The great freedom the Galactic Alliance has given to Thyrsus permits us to find our own path, out of the shackles of the Echani, and to cleanse the ilk of the Sith, from our history. The prophecy of the Son of Suns beckons us to follow the Golden Path, a trajectory that leads Thyrsus toward a destiny of unprecedented significance. It is not a path of isolation, but rather a journey towards a galactic stature rivalling the grandeur of Coruscant. I navigate the Golden Path, just as the Jedi follow the Force. I am seen as the Savior of Thyrsus, as the Galactic Alliance is for the Galaxy. I am the Son of Suns, and I will re-unite the Sun Guard, and raise Thyrsus to be a Galactic Power as strong as Coruscant! Thyrsus will never be trodden on ever again!"

Now, he would address the Senators directly. "I implore you, Senators, to understand the gravity of this moment. Thyrsus, once relegated to the shadows, shall ascend to become a galactic power in its own right. The time for Thyrsus to determine its own destiny has come. Let us not merely legislate but transcend the ordinary, forging a new destiny for my people. In the name of unity, let the Sun Guard rise once more, not as a mere mercenary force, but as guardians of Thyrsus's true potential."

This was it, the final plea to the Senate. By now he wouldn't be surprised if many were angered. He had coopted his Acceptance Speech into something they saw as selfish or dividing, it probably personally angered them. "In this pursuit, Thyrsus shall navigate its own course, free from the entanglements of external banners. We do not declare enmity with the Galactic Alliance, I promise to uphold the agreements set forth in the induction to the Galactic Alliance, as I stated before, but Thyrsus shall stand on its own, proudly hoisting its own banner in the cosmic winds. Let Thyrsus be equal, a celestial entity that rises to prominence not by subjugation, but through cooperation and strength of purpose. The Golden Path is my peoples' guiding light, and as the leader of this great power, the Son of Suns shall navigate my people through the uncharted cosmic realms."

"Thank you, Galactic Alliance, for this honor bestowed upon me for my planet and my people. Thyrsus will never again ever see the likes of the Almera Accord, so long as I draw breathe." And with that, he took a breath, giving to the floor to the Senate. Certainly, much longer than any Acceptance Speech before, no? He didn't know if they would come at him, call for his arrest, or banishment. Either way, his announcement was going to cause a rift on Thyrsus. The governing council surely would have heard about him before this event, but now they may already be deciding to take a side. The Senate may even see this as a destabilizing moment for Thyrsus, threaten that Atos' actions today may plummet Thyrsus into civil war. But Atos wouldn't let that happen, the people would not fight each other. They had been through too much, the last thing they would do is kill each other over a prophecy. But was the Jedi Way, the Jedi Order, so different? A belief in a greater path. Similarly, the Galactic Alliance; an entity to do the right thing.

Casteban Mecetti's eyelids drooped somewhat during this gathering of the general assembly.

In his youth, he could endure hours of speeches with full attentiveness, regardless of their content. But as he'd aged, his alertness had waned significantly, to the point where it was sometimes a challenge to stay awake. Most particularly when someone unimportant was speaking, saying something inconsequential.

Golden Path. Chosen Ones. What self-indulgent tripe.

But then some words penetrated the shell of drowsiness threatening to carry Casteban away.

"The time for Thyrsus to determine its own destiny has come... let the Sun Guard rise once more... proudly hoisting its own banner... "

Casteban blinked himself to greater wakefulness, his hand finding the microphone toggle in his pod.

"Obulette Speaks," he declared, "and we seek clarification. Is Thyrsus seceding from the Galactic Alliance, or merely extoling the power of its planetary defense forces and the bright future that lay before it?

I yield for a response."

Atos was surprised as one of the senators abruptly spoke up, surprising him. He thought he may have been one that was falling asleep, "the latter, Obulette. My apologies. As I stated, I will keep to the agreements made before I was given my authority. I state for the record, Thyrsus is not seceding from the Galactic Alliance. I yield to the Senate for further challenges or questions."

Within the confines of the Empire of the Lost a broadcast on the HoloNET caught the attention of the Sith. As strobing, neon flashing lights occasionally found themselves illuminating a darkened room- only to pass on and leave it back in shadow- of which Darth Ayra was sat in front of a holographic projector that was playing the live broadcast of the assembly. The politics of Thyrsus were of interest to Ayra because of her previous affiliation to the Sun Guards. For many years, during her seminal life before incarceration at the hands of the Alliance, Ayra had traversed the Galaxy often in the company of Echani Sun Guards who came to worship her like a deity.

Thus, the politics of Thyrsus were of interest to her due to these seminal ties. Sun Guards were elite warriors, and they had served her well right up until the sickness that had turned them against her. As Senator Vodus went back and forth with Senator Mecetti- another individual of interest to her- Darth Ayra pulled up the Almera Accords on a separate terminal to familiarize herself with the agreement while the broadcast continued to play the meeting to her and the wider Galaxy.

Vaudin Miir

Planetary President of Iktotch
The Iktotchi representative nearly fell off his seat when one of his aids, an ancient iktotchi woman that had spent decades hearding him from one boring board room to another all day, slapped the back of his head.

"Deflector shields!" He said to loudly before he looked around and schooled his features before the senator of....something orr other began his speach. He said a ton of words but Vaudin latched on to the gist fairly quickly. 'I am going to rule through religious ferver.'

He leaned back and rested his too large hands against his midsection and whispered to his annoyed aid.

"That's a bold move cotton, let's see how that plays out." He whispered.

His aid cocked her hand back again.

"Non-aggresion pact." He said as he lifted his hands over his head.

"Shut up, Mr. President." She replied.
