ADVANCED SYSTEMS
ST2X Targeting Computer: While slightly aged in todays standards, it is still a prime example of targeting computer technology, allowing the user to keep target locked on and show trajectory of bombs or missiles when fired. (x)
STRENGTHS
- FIRE EVERYTHING!: It has a lot of firepower and is versatile in its duty against most freighters and even higher end captial ships. It is not to be underestimated.
- Exposed Bomb Bay: Underneath, there is no mechanism to close bomb bay doors. This can be exploited by shooting underneath and igniting its payload.
One of the few starfighter designs he given a blessing towards to just have a hyperdrive. It was expensive to maintain them but given the status of others needing the carrier space, this one made the most sense. The TIE/AR was a given destination meaning Arsonist. The only goal for the TIE/AR was to destroy all structures, capital ships, and everything else in between to get to its desired target. After the mission was completed, it was to go back through hyperspace to get back home. This unique specimen of a bomber could be almost classified as a gunboat if it was not so small.
One of the common features was the ST2X Targeting Computer which was added back in to just simply target other enemies. One of the other key notes is that the bomb bay was designed to where it can be deployed immediately instead of waiting several seconds for the bomb bay doors to open. The only issue was that with it being exposed, a good shot with a laser cannon will completely ignite the entire payload of the TIE/AR. Due to this purpose and common complaint, the ejection system was added back in with the expensive of engine speed and maneuverability. One of the few noted things when fielded was that even against a regular starfighter, an experienced pilot can disable then destroy the target within just a few seconds.
A bottle of champaign was actually opened this time as it was congratulated for being close to a superiority fighter but in essence, was a heavy bomber variant. With slow sips of the bubbly on their lips, they talked on what projects can be done beyond this. One group speculated just simply ripping out the bomb bay to create a much quicker variant of starfighter. Another group said they could merely limit the production run and could handle possibly greater amounts. Even another group said they could limit squadron sizes due to potential cost. All of that sat on Haon Hafeys mind, still sipping his champaign and watching the mock battle outside on the TIE/AR, watching as it merely razed a mock village to the ground.
