- "Arcade Perfect" TIE Baron, with Classic Controls, enabling Elite Pilots to learn how to work it immediately
- Immense Speed and Agility
- Powerful Weapons enable versatile responses
- Red Baron: TIE Barons are so supremely well designed in terms of handling and speed that a sufficiently trained singular pilot can equally prove themselves the same level of threat as an entire squadron, with lesser designs hard pressed to match its firepower, graceful handling, and sheer ease of use. A pilot who is already a master can potentially fly circles around even other Master Pilots, despite having been invented Millenia earlier
- Classic: It's controls are still top of the Line, and designed with the Pilot's need to know where everything is and does as efficiently as possible
- Difficulty of Acquisition: These are NOT easy to come by, often found in heavily guarded ancient facilities, or are outrageously expensive even for reproductions
- Outdated: Their Electronics, while not easily jammed, are still old, and more vulnerable to Ion attack as a result
- Repair Issues: Repair parts don't come cheap or are located easily in the field. A stranded pilot may have to make sacrifices in performance to get it running in an emergency, and the age of unsecured examples can often be an issue, leading to faster wear and tear and more frequent recalibration and maintainance. Don't take it out unless you REALLY need someone dead. Even Fresh Reproduction examples have this problem
- Low Defenses: It's a cannon, to be sure, but can take maybe two hits before its out of the picture.
- Imbalance: It's speed is not as high as it's Manueverability, and can be out run by craft with less weight, in fact, this over reliance on agility may prove a hindrance if they lack the proper speed, even as high as the natural speed of the craft is
TIE Baron Interceptors were elite First Order Starfighters developed for only Veteran Pilots that had survived multiple missions using craft of lesser design. A rare sight, any who earned the right to pilot these craft were people to be feared, as they were often skilled enough to engage entire squadrons by themselves. Unsecured Examples are most often found in old, but still heavily secure facilities just waiting to be looted by enterprising PC's. Or they could fork over the creds for a brand spanking new reproduction but the price is high enough that Buyer's Remorse is almost a certainty.
Despite its obvious potential this is ironically the only Imperial Starfighter The Amalgam sneers at, considering it an insulting substitute compared to the original Royal Guard TIE's they were meant to emulate, and absolutely refuses to use one on this basis alone.
