Tingel Arm Independent Planetary Rulers

Baroness Magrath

Guest
While the largest player in the Tingel Arm is the Silver Sanctum Major Faction; there are still numerous independent worlds that are not within the Influence Cloud of that faction.

As of this moment; the Avidonian System is also one of those Independent worlds.

I was wondering though, if there are any other Independent Planetary Rulers in the Tingel Arm. Those characters that have set themselves up as the sole ruler, or as holding the highest office (President, Prime Minister, etc etc) on those worlds that are still Independent.

Those worlds being the following.

Tingel Arm:

  • Hora
  • Belkadan
  • Mavericka
  • Ord Janon
  • Sernpidal
  • Argo VII
  • Metatron
  • Eclipstica
  • Bosph
  • Ventooine
  • Neelgaimon
  • Trian
  • Mytus VII
  • X-377E
  • Parthovian CL
  • Avidon - Baroness Magrath
  • Lorrd
  • Cadomai
  • Kamar
  • Iferetes - [member="Arthur David Hardrada"]
  • Farana
  • Caeliar
  • Hast
  • Drongar
  • Terax II
  • Kelsier
  • Kyrikal
  • Hagron's World
  • Eisei
  • Ruuria
  • Oricon
  • Ession

The Interest is purely for the reasons of beginning a series of roleplays within the Tingel Arm, focusing on the Tingel Arm; its worlds, and the continued push of the Silver Sanctum into the territories of the Tingel Arm. As to gauge the interest of those that would like to push back a little.

Just some thoughts from someone with extensive roleplays in the Tingel Arm...

Many of the worlds you've listed were conquered by the Primeval in recent history and subjugated under the rule of a Warlord installed by the Primeval. In contrast, it's established that the SSC is a loose federation in which each planet rules itself according to its own laws. It's essentially the European Union of Chaos, with contributions to mutual and collective defense akin to NATO. Thus, any PC ruler would likely remain as such. Case in point, [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] is the PC ruler of one of the SSC planets.

Point being, I'd be somewhat skeptical that planets like Belkadan, Lorrd, Sernpidal, or Ord Janon in particular (we sacked the hell out of Ord Janon when I was in the Primeval) would be all that resistant to mutual defense treaties and economic aid from a major galactic power, acceptance of which sacrifices none of their own sovereignty. And given that a world like Ord Janon is likely to need extensive reconstruction and humanitarian assistance, particularly as the Primeval exported part of the surviving population as slave labor according the that dominion thread, the pros would seem to outweight the cons.

But, it would be interesting if you assembled something of an Axis faction as a foil to their NATO. But, the economy and politics behind the map game being so hand-wavey, that might be difficult to write other than opposing them as a "Jedi" faction (which, arguably, they haven't been since the merger with the LS).

Would you be interested in a possible series of rps provided additional members show an interest?

Taking into the account that, as you've mentioned, the worlds listed were placed under the control of a Primeval Warlord when that Faction was holding sway in the region in question. Coupled with the information on the SSC as being a loose federation akin to the EU and NATO; with an emphasis on permitting PCs to retain independent control over their worlds, I would argue the following as a basis for pushing forward with this idea.

While the Primeval had taken hold of these worlds, and caused untold damage that would require aid; what is the true likelyhood of a world accepting aid from another Major Faction? I believe, personally, that those worlds which are no longer under the direct control of the Primeval and are Independent once again, would be more hesitant to join another group (even if they retain their sovereignty) than they would be with remaining independent, or relying on their neighbors for aid. For what is to say that yes today they have their sovereignty and are being given aid; that tomorrow they're not going to be forced into a situation with the demand of 'hey we helped you'?

I understand also that you are giving your view and trying to provide insight (and that your reasoning and words were not meant to convey the following), however with that said (and perhaps this is an error on my part); I've had difficulty not reading this beyond 'these are the reasons you shouldn't try this'. Again, I am sure this was not your intent, and it solely rests upon my own reading of the material and I do appreciate you offering your insight about the Tingel Arm, the SSC and the events of that region as my focus had been upon other areas on the map or split with my own IRL problems.

Likewise, with your mention of an option of opposition being fighting the SSC as a 'Jedi Faction' not being viable; it is an idea that hadn't even been thought of.

The primary focus behind this idea is that these worlds would join together to create a Tingel Defense Force. Basically a force that could protect the Tingel Arm and its worlds without the reliance upon outside Factions. Sure the SSC is the major player, and the new Mandalorian Empire is also on the rise to the West; though the idea remains solid.

That idea being a grouping of worlds that would view their future as not permitting another faction like the Primeval from growing and taking hold of their worlds; while also looking at the SSC with suspicion. It would maintain the hinting that what the SSC is offering is too good of an offer for there not to be any kind of hidden text or fine print that would be pulled up at the last moment elsewhere.

Quite the opposite. Rather than say, you shouldn't do this, I actually said it would be quite interesting if you did. If you read anything other than that in my post, just know that such was not my intent.

Good luck with your story. If you need any help putting together histories or recent events for some of the former Primeval worlds, I'm happy to help.

I created Kelsier, Hagron's World, Kyrikal, and Caeliar. So far as I know, nobody's taken personal leadership of them in the way you're suggesting, though [member="Nohemi Allaneh"] and the other Fallanassi did relocate to one of Kyrikal's moons in secret. They might be interested.

I understand. As I figured, I may have read it wrong.

I understand your situation. Perhaps when all is said and done we can worry about threads then.

Thank you both for bringing that information to my attention. It will help while going forward.

Were there any other PCs that lay claim to the worlds listed in terms of being their rulers?

The problem I am having currently, is that the profile you mentioned in the PM leads to an inactive writer account; which to me appears suspicious. While I do welcome your input and insight on the worlds that you claimed to have created / reigned over, I personally do not feel it proper to continue forward.

Were there any additional PCs that are active in the Independent Tingel Arm worlds?
