TKO Search and Rescue

Dedication - Perseverance - Service - “Working Together, So Others May Live”
The Kathol Outback Search and Rescue
So OOC what is this thing?
  • In TKO we have a very open structure, and we are open to all. Because of this some people get lost and are not sure what to do. I created this as a "job" one could to while find their way in the outback. Something with a bit more company structure but still open to all.
  • From an RP perspective think MASH and the A-Team had a baby. What popped out is TKO S&R. We are basically a group of do gooders that get ourselves in tough situations, with few resources and need to use our brains and guys to solve complex situations.
  • How we operate, basically we are a story generator and driver, between Faction events if things get slow we can use this as a background to create new cool stories.
So OOC what isn't this thing?
  • This is not a klick or holier than thou club. We are all TKO, all one family, this is not a sub faction, not a good ol boys club that only a select few can join.
  • This does not super seed any official faction events and never will.
  • If TKO S&R starts causing drama, it's gonna shut down because that is not its' purpose.
So why should I join?
  • Honestly you really don't have to. I wanted to create this as a vehicle to help new or lost writers have a fun background to launch from. If you aren't interested in it then that's cool, you do you as they say and we all have fun.
  • The main reason to join this is a few fold. One, if the story fits your character and direction you want your writing to go welcome. If your are lost and want to write a bit to find yourself in a structured setting, welcome. If you just like what the people are doing and want to join in, then you're in.
Perks for membership.
  • (ICl'y) Steady pay, make your own hours, and a RP way to get a faction ship if you want (more on that later)
  • OOC - Fun stories, good people, defined structure, exc (all that good stuff)
Once again this is a totally voluntary thing, don't feel you need to join. But in the same respect, if you like the above and want to join I can tell you you're a TKO S&R volunteer already ;)

I can help provide communications and add the Alderaan Queen's crew to the mix. It's no ambulance, but we are carrying some advanced Sasori medical technology.

Plus, your base concept kind of sums up the type of stories I do with Sor-Jan normally.

Depends, I'm sure Merrill thinks you're fine so that would be an alright pass for Judah. I have a few ideas rolling around in my head on ways I could support your organization. You could always tell me your ideas as well or we can set up a thread in the IC area and hash it out.

[member="Judah Dashiell"], you and [member="Matthew Robinson"] already are sorta working on this idea already, [member="Sor-Jan Xantha"] has already offered to help with communication. Combine that with [member="Glavo Pahro"] talk of the highway and my established medical background and we basically are already ICl'y working this in http://starwarsrp.ne...kathol-outback/

Figure we can let this idea just flesh itself out there if no one has any objections.

There's an herb for that.

I like this idea. I was already having Matt do some of this in his self-training thread. I'm not sure if it needs to be formalized but I also don't see the harm in organizing it, either.

Judah has no time to be fathering you Outer Rim whipper-snappers! If you prefer I can have a thread set up Friday night, my schedule is a little tight til then unless you want to continue in the meeting space.

When you're ready, I have the idea for a 'highway'... Themed around emergent use, etc... Should be pretty neat.

Basic premise is enhancing and shoring up S-Thread boosters, and making them sort of multi-use buoys with a long recharge time. Only 1 destination each (so you guys would have to chose) but I am thinking of sending them tot the Ukalibis (spelling?) since that is the medical big point. Or wherever you guys choose. A temporarily slightly calmer route to and from a an outlier beacon to the master, which takes a good pilot to trigger and use.

Matt, the formality is more for either people new to TKO or those not comfortable with our full open sandbox style. Some writers are more comfortable with a structure to spring from. I basically just wanted to create this so anyone who wanted to use it could while getting to know the faction and spreading out from there.

Also gives us another story generator and I was thinking and excuse to have a standing "fleet". It is a lot easier to explain away a warship if it is painted white with a red cross on it.

"No seriously it is a hospitable ship, Turbo lasers? No those are giant bacta cannons I swear." ;)

We could probably merge your idea for a highway with my idea for a communications network (if we could get Sor-Jan and Glavo to work together). A commsat satellite could also serve as GPS for the highway, by broadcasting precise timing and location data for the buoy.
