To Better Days, and Hope for a Better Year {deWinter}

Rumors were flying all around the galaxy. News about some sort of creature, born from Sith magic and Vong science. A few tales suggested that the beast was up for grabs. That it could be tamed, then used for all sorts of chaos. Other whispers suggested that it was to dangerous to be tamed. Really, they were all exaggerated severely. Ven'Rain was a Sithspawn. But she belonged to the Horde. To Savan. That didn't stop some from wanting to get the former mercenary on their side. Better to work with the giant than against her, right? Or maybe some of the more interested parties wanted to kill her before she got the chance to do any more harm. All understandable things. Anyone who was interested, and had a high enough social standing, would hear that Ven was being 'tested' on an unclaimed planet. In other words, she was going to be released into the wild for a bit so she could kill things without much consequences. Already some were waiting. This would be an entertaining sight- at least for those who enjoyed pain, misery, and that sort of stuff.

Seated upon the dais, queen Nessarose deWinter bounced with excitement. It had been a long time since she'd last seen a Sithspawn tested, memories of her own precious angels of darkness flooding her mind with sweetness. It had not even been a year ago when she'd created nearly a horde of two of them, winged beasts with no love for anything but power.

Yet that lust had been their downfall, and while each massacred her own kind, leaving only two in the end, they had flown up and up with their great wings, until they hit the atmosphere and burst into a beautiful ball of flame. It had been her first successful time creating Sithspawn, and while she was certain there would be more in the future, for now she preferred to sit back and study what others were doing.

The invite to the match had been promising. She could hardly wait.

Snapping her fingers, the teenager was gifted with a large tray of onion ring. Grinning, she put the first one on her point finger, and proceeded to stapel more and more, until the rings covered her finger entirely. Opening her mouth wide, the finger went inside, and came out a second later, clean of crumbs and oily remains. Those who had looked carefully at her would not have seen her chew more than once or twice before she swallowed, and in came the second ring collection.

Leaning back in her comfortable chair, she resumed to eat until the fight began.

Yelling was heard from the transport that held the beast. Most was to quiet for anyone to know what those inside were saying... but the words "GET HER OFF ME!" were heard quite clearly. A few moments later the shuttle's side doors shot open, and out emerged the Sithspawn. What appeared to be very fresh blood was spattered across her chest. Her lips were curled up in a rather evil-looking smirk. Behind her the vehicle took off, probably to go either bury a body or get someone some medical treatment. The latter wasn't very likely. Especially when you realize how much blood was actually on the woman. What exactly had happened inside that ship? Guess we'll never know. "We, the Vong, present our newest creation: Ven'Rain Sekairo, The Shattered Knight." Hearing her name, Ven turned, glaring daggers at the announcer. He visibly tensed before ordering the prisoners to be released. For today's little show various prisoners on Death Row were to be armed and sent to fight the beast. Most had been mercenaries before, so the chance of a short, one-sided fight were low. They would be provided with various melee weapons and light armor. Meanwhile, Ven would only be given a vibro-blade and her casual clothing. Apparently the Vong had high hopes for her.

As the men were dropped off into the mini-arena (which had been built rather quickly the day before) their opponent simply arched her brow. Were these the only ones fighting her? Hmph. In her mind she could take on twice as many without breaking a sweat. We'll see how right or wrong she is in a moment. Turning to those gathered, Ven smirked once more, eying the crowd with interest. Quickly she settled her sights on a certain girl... one currently devouring onion rings like there was no tomorrow. "You. Today I fight for you." Some in the audience gasped. Not every Spawn was capable of speech. Most of this one's intelligence came from the soul that had been forced into the body. "May the blood that pours today please you." While she spoke one of the prisoners had started to sneak up on her. But the snap of a twig alerted his presence... Swirling around Ven launched her unarmored fist at his head. Their was a loud, satisfying crack as he fell backwards. Perhaps he should have thought before trying to take on a giant on his own. Or maybe he had no chance of succeeding from the start.
