Private To Help Those Lost

Back when Vaylin was Sith and actively hunting Jedi down, she kept an up to date list on notable Force Users. As a Sith Valkyrie she was always on the lookout for potential converts, either to the Brotherhood as a whole, or to the Valkyries themselves. The majority of them were Jedi, but she also kept an eye on the students that went through the Sith Academies.

Alina Tremiru Alina Tremiru was one of those students.

However, her trajectory through the academy never quite matched up with Vaylin’s rise up the Valkyrie ranks. By the time she had become Matriarch, Alina was already on her final steps from the academy and well on her own path. Far be it for the Zabrak to suddenly pull the young woman from her goals. Much as she wanted to see how Alina would fare as a potential Valkyrie, she was intrigued to see where and what they did next.

And then the years passed by, enemies rose and fell, territory was gained and lost, until the Sith Empire eventually collapsed.

But Vaylin had never forgotten those she had kept a watch over. Which was what had brought her to Eshan of all planets. It wasn’t somewhere Vaylin thought she’d set foot on again, not after the disastrous relationship with Jorryn. But here she was, looking for a fellow former Sith.

The Zabrak tugged on her hood, making sure she was concealing her face. She was perhaps being overly cautious, but right now with her current state it was better than being careless. Vaylin had no idea what the Echani people thought of Sith, or what they’d think of finding a former one amongst them. One who had actively used one of Raaf’s sithspawn species...that were former Echani.

Vaylin shook the thoughts away, knowing she needed to focus. She was heading to a particular spot, a place her little birdies told her Alina tended to pass through whenever she wasn’t with the Echani Princess.

Not once, but twice. That was how many times someone had tried to come and claim her head. With the Empire now cinders, perhaps it wasn't all that surprising. Revenge wasn't complete, so the hunters that would of been occupied by Sith still being Sith would ignore her. No such barrier existed anymore. As much as Alina wanted to stay, perhaps she shouldn't. The next attack may very well catch Quinn in it. Or her sister. Neither were something she wanted to be the cause of.

These were the thoughts that passed through the mind of the former Sith as she walked through the streets of Eshan. Since the hunters after her could attack the palace, there was no reason for her to be limited there anymore. A heavy sigh escaped her as she found the bench she always sat on. Last time she was here she was attacked. And made a friend.

Silver linings, of course.

A half chuckle escaped at the memory of her encounter with the Mandalorian Jenn Kryze Jenn Kryze . Had she found more friends by now? Or was she still searching for the thing to fill the void? The Vampiress took a seat. She wore nothing that came close to Sith. A brightly colored tank top and some jeans. And of course the sunglasses that hid the unnatural glow of her eyes. Today was just another day to people watch.

Vaylin Vaylin

In the end the Zabrak opted to remain in the back somewhat, leaning against a wall that had a good line of sight to the main pathways through the area. It was a nice spot, almost peaceful even. She could see why the woman would come here, to get away from things and simply be alone.

The attack on Alina had caused a bit of a stir, tipping Vaylin off to the vampiress’ location. At first she had been tempted to try and access the royal palace, via official means or otherwise. But again, the Zabrak didn’t want to tempt fate and chance it that her past would get dragged to the surface.

No, instead she relied on a gamble. A belief that she knew people like Alina well enough, and guessed it wouldn’t be long before the former Sith would leave the palace to keep her loved ones from harm. A noble thought, but a naive one in Vaylin’s opinion.

It was a literal palace, someone would have a death wish to attack someone in the home of Echani royalty. But Vaylin couldn’t fault Alina for wanting to protect loved ones, she probably would’ve done the same.

The Zabrak kept her head down slightly, just enough to look like she was minding her own business, but also glancing around at passersby. She had almost missed Alina, having not accounted for the potentiality that she’d be wearing totally different clothing. Vaylin stared for a bit too long, and knew the moment the vampiress’ gaze passed over her, she’d been caught.

Stealth and subtlety was never her strong suit, as Allyson Locke Allyson Locke had often teased her back when they were enemies.

...And probably now too, if she could see the Zabrak’s poor attempt at being sneaky.

Keeping her hood adjusted, Vaylin threw subtlety away and walked straight to where Alina was seated. She gave no feeling of hostility in her approach, but then it probably didn’t matter to someone who was on edge anyway. But any attempt to outright sense Vaylin would find...nothing. The Force was still numb to the Zabrak.

Alina Tremiru?” She asked, violet eyes staring out from beneath the hood.

Perhaps the saving grace was that Alina could not sense or feel people through the Force. She could sense blood, but that feeling had started to fade since she left the Sith. Subconsciously suppressing her power in defiance to the Darkness she had only just started to feel. Whatever failure Vaylin Vaylin had at sneaking, she would end up actually sneaking up on the Vampiress.

She jumped a bit, glancing towards the Zabrak. It wasn't someone she recognized. Another threat to her life then? .. No. Maybe not. ".. Yes, that's me."

Vaylin was admittedly surprised that she had caught Alina seemingly off guard. She was sure the woman would have sensed her, but perhaps it was lingering paranoia from the last attack. Either way, Vaylin took a seat beside her to show she wasn’t here to attack.

Or well, she hoped it did.

I’m Vaylin, we ran in some similar circles not too long ago.” The Zabrak scratched her neck slightly, feeling somewhat awkward. Perhaps, it was the general mood in the air. Or maybe it was the fact she was trying to have a conversation with someone she didn’t know.

Hell, when was the last time she had a casual conversation in general?

As former Sith, I mean.

Well it wasn't meant with immediate attack, so that was a good sign. Alina didn't exactly relax, but neither did she get more defensive. Whomever Vaylin Vaylin was, she wasn't an enemy. Similar circles, though? Sith? Sangnir? .. Quinn? The Vampiress tilted her head as she thought through the various options on just what circles could of been crossed. Yet the answer was given on it's own. Her vision saddened, and yet she immediately felt a kinship to this unknown Zabrak.

Leaving the Sith was confronting so much fear and trauma, and choosing to move on. It was never an easy choice.

She turned in her seat, facing the other former Sith more fully as she dipped her head. "I might not know you, but I'm glad you were able to be free."
