To sail in the wind

The brisk morning was a clear one. Mantic took in the fresh air and enjoyed the early hour. The temple still rested and much was still.
A few padawans in training passed to see to their choirs giving slight nods of recognition as they passed him. He returned their silent greetings in a similar fashion and called upon his own memories as a younger version of himself. A small child even, starting out at a distant jedi enclave, schooled without much background than the order itself.

He lowered his eyes somewhat at the thought, but quickly recalled that the reason why he had managed so far was indeed built upon the foundation of his early teachings.
Now he wanted to ensure that his own students were given an as steady upbringing as well.

And so he stood here in the training court yard waiting for one of them.

Fleur returned to the temple dressed in robes that were made of a rough and uncomfortable cloth that served only to distract her. She had heard that the uncomfortable material was a meant to help sharpen her focus or something but she was skeptical.

Despite having become a student under [member="Mantic Dorn"], she still felt a bit uneasy about entering the temple as she was not completely rid of her insecurities. Fleur knew she had to completely let go of her past to prevent her biggest fear from being realized but it wasn’t easy. She knew she could let it all go eventually but for now, she had to do it bit by bit.

After a few minutes of walking from the temple, Fleur arrived in the training courtyard where her master awaited her and greeted him with a silent nod of her head as she had almost no knowledge of the Jedi culture.

Mantic noticed that his newest padawan felt a bit uncomfortable. It was not strange per se and most new students fumbled in the dark for a while.
[member="Fleur de La Fontaine"] was older than he would prefer in a padawan but never the less, her mind had accepted the idea of becoming a jedi. That in itself was not to be taken for granted in these times and molded hope for the future in Mantics eyes.

"A jedi must always utilize control my padawan." he began in a lecturing tone. Then he turned to face the training area. It was littered with blocks, ropes strung from high altitudes, rocks and artificial obstacles.

"I want you to run this course as fast as you can. Do not run around the obstacles but pass over them in any way you see fit."

That was all the instructions he gave and was meant to startle, to cause hesitation. But he made no appearance of it. Rather he placed his hands in his sleeves and waited in calm silence.
