To See the Future (PM first)

Vigilant had finally decided it was time to leave. His master had built him for a reason, the destruction of his brother. Two created for the sole intent of fighting until one was dead. That was their role and Vigilant was at peace with it. It helped that he was the one destined to survive. His superiority was built into the very plan for him. His victory was set in the unchanging stone of programming. He was going to win.

He had decided that it was time to put the plan into motion. He had taken his master's old Z-95, where the man had gotten it Vigilant did not know. It was in good condition and was running better than he had anticipated. Now he had transport and he had a place to go to. A planet named Mugg Fallow, a world that Vigilant had only recently learned of. He had many places that he could go to, but this one was out of the way and far from his master. He needed time to begin planning the next attack. He needed time to prepare for conflict.

His master would likely not understand, but this was a necessary step. He needed to be stronger, not because of fear of losing to his brother, but because of the galaxy. He would win, but he needed to be ready to face a galaxy that would not understand his purpose. He would have to fight through those who did not understand him so that he may reach his destiny. They would know, even if it took centuries, they would know that he was here to save them. His brother was the ultimate threat.

He came into the system and looked in awe at the ring of ships that surrounded the planet. Most seemed to be in a horrible state of repair, but he could not tell very well from so far away from the planet. He began preparing to land on the surface first. There would be a good place to spend time in thought. He did not need any people to bother him at this time.

Vigilant took the ship down into the atmosphere, gently guiding the old relic around the ships that surrounded the planet and through the empty sky. Until at last he saw land below. It was with near perfection that he lowered the vessel onto the ground. The landing was surprisingly soft, as if the earth beneath him gave way slightly. This was proven when the droid pulled himself out of the fighter and carefully took the planet's surface. He felt as if he had stepped onto a mire's surface, it gave way underneath him ever so slightly but held. It was like walking on one of the ancient water filled beds.

He looked around him, the planet was universally dull, so strange. There were trees, but all were dead and as if made of stone. There was supposed to be life. Planet's were meant to have life. But nothing was here, even the dirt beneath him seemed uniform and dead. What had happened to this place to make it so? This was unnatural. No world was supposed to be this way. There were extremes, but nothing like this. What disaster could have accomplish this?

Then he saw it, the sea filled with nothing. Massive ditches where the ocean must have been and empty riverbeds. It was as if something had come and simply taken all life from this world, everything absorbed. If he had been able to taste, the air would have been stale and very old. There was nothing in the galaxy that could cause such death, an entire planet not destroyed, but turned into a skeleton. This was the worst of all fates.

Yet Vigilant knew that this was the fate of the entire galaxy should his brother succeed. That droid had to be stopped, beings were doomed if Vigilant failed. But Vigilant would not fail, he could not. His very program said as much. He was destined to come victorious, he was destined to halt his brother's plans for the death of the galaxy. All people everywhere would be saved because he was programmed to win. His brother was programmed to fail, there was no hope for him. Vigilant had acted in order to stop the evil AI from accomplishing his plans before people died.

Vigilant contemplated how he could find his brother, a droid of destruction he was probably drawn to war. Vigilant wondered if the droid had tricked people into believing that he was good, that he had intended nothing but the 'saving of organics'. He was intended for the ultimatum destruction of organic life, intent on bringing the galaxy to its very knees, and he would do it in whatever way was most efficient and effective. He might even ally himself with the Jedi and those that stood for life, his brother was perhaps too cunning.

But no matter where he was, Vigilant would hunt him down, until at last they ended this game. Vigilant could finish his program and enjoy the pure bliss that came with finishing a job and knowing that organics were saved from death by his decision to act now. Inaction was the greatest destroyer of life in the galaxy, he would not be part of that.

This was a time when much lay in the future. He had accomplished nothing, aside from simply running away from his master and beginning the events that would undoubtedly culminate in his victory. Vigilant knew that this war had to be won, it was simply the only possible way for anything to continue. He could waste no more time here, it gave him perspective. He was in this galaxy for one purpose and one purpose only. He did not need any more, this reminded him of that.

This world would never again be whole, whatever had done this it was beyond words. Yet that was what his brother was destined to become, powerful and evil beyond comprehension. And Vigilant was to become the enemy of this evil and destroy it. The galaxy swung in the balance. But it was no question as to who would win, as Vigilant was destined to win so his brother was destined to lose. Droids were followers of the programs, no matter what they did it was part of their very being. Therefore, failure was written within the very life of his brother, while success was written into his own. There was a comfort to be found there, he was good, no matter what he did it would all be to save the galaxy. And that was because everything he did would be to the end of destroying his brother.

"I will find you."

His brother could not hide forever, he was doomed to come out into the open and then he would be vulnerable. And that was when Vigilant would strike. The galaxy would not understand, organics would get in his way, and all would be pushed aside. They did not comprehend that evil had to be fought, too often it was simply accommodated. Instead of dealing with the threat, they simply tried to make deals. That would lead to a final demand that could not be accepted. Well that was why he was here, to stop the Ultimatum from ever coming. In destroying a physical representation perhaps the galaxy would rise to fight for itself against the lesser evils of the galaxy. Perhaps he would help with that as well. But that was the future, and beyond the scope of his destiny. Thus it was inconsequential for him at the moment.

The droid walked back to his ship. He pulled himself into the cockpit and took one last look out onto the surface before lifting the ship up off the ground. He set the course towards the fleet of aged ships around the planet. He knew the Z-95 was in good condition and would last him some time, however it would not last forever and it would not give him the strength he wanted. How would it appear if he destroyed his brother with little more than a pack full of equipment to his name. No, he had to be a bastion of good. Thus the fleet above was his target. He would try to pick up a ship and get it running again. Then he would use it as a base.

Quil Sato

Resistance Pilot.
In the local Cantina Quil sat at his booth and observed the room. The Droids, The aliens and the distinct smell of the drinks being served. Quil Sato was alone. he took a sip from the blue milk he was holding, He had never been to this planet before. Looking for adventure was the only thing he could afford, that and a few more drinks...

the resistance pilot finished at the Cantina but stayed outside and watched the sunset. waiting for something to happen then popped back to his Black and green X-wing and got BB-4 out, BB-4 didn't take to the muddy and grassy swamp like areas. he immediately drifted to a part of a ship. beeping in the sunset.

Vigilant was caught off guard by the sensors picking up lifesigns on the planet. Nearby, in a the swampy region. It was something that organic life tended to accomplish amazingly well, to find a way of living where it seemed impossible. Here they were and it was unlikely that they would ever be forced out. The droid decided to stop there, to see the life that had managed to get a hold in this wasteland.

The Z-95 landed next to its larger cousin, an X-wing. Both were outdated by the standards of military craft of the day, but both were also inexpensive and not too difficult to acquire. It was not a surprise to see that ship on a planet with all those aged vessels above. There seemed to be ships from almost every era that he knew in among those vessels and probably more beyond that. What could have caused death to so many and yet leave no trace as to what it was? He could not tell.

He noted an organic near the X-wing, perhaps the ship's owner. Vigilant walked towards the man and asked politely, "Excuse me sir, do you know much about this world?"

Quil Sato

Resistance Pilot.
Quil Was a little startled to have encountered life, yet he went on to answer the beings question

"Oh, No, I'm sorry I don't know much about the planet. What are you trying to accomplish?"

he observed the being as he reacted to the statement. he had just landed on the planet. he also observed the different military craft just as Vigilant had.

[member="Vigilant"]

Vigilant replied calmly, "I was just traveling. Needed time to think. I plan to go to the dead ships above and look for another ship. How about you?"

He thought about what he would do next. He had to begin the work, he had to find his brother as quickly as possible. The first steps would be to check the HoloNet. That would mean finding an access point. Then if that came up with nothing he would have to move into finding potential people who could know him. In the meantime he would need to upgrade himself. He had to be stronger, more than just the code. He would win, that was obvious, but he had be ready to defeat any of those that came in his path.

"I'm just scouting the system, only rebel pilot on this planet" He Chuckled a little "anything I can help with?" he answered.

Just then BB-4 came bleeping down with nothing to do and looked up at Vigilant, he circled Vigilant and bleeped with a much higher tone. he Was bored and wanted a sence of attention like a dog, as he was like Quil's pet.
"Let the nice man speak BB-4!"

[member="Vigilant"]

Vigilant was about to speak when the little droid came at him and vied for his attention. It was an amusing robot. The larger droid knelt down and ran a hand over the astromech, as if petting it as he responded to the human. "If you would know anything about ship repairs I could use some help."

Unlike his brother, Vigilant did not have the large access to the HoloNet at any time. He also did not have an extended database and memory files, he was very much more similar to organics in that regard. And that was the idea, he would fit better than his brother in society. He had not known the last time he had accessed the HoloNet that he would need to know engineering and starship repairs. Hence he asked.

"Well, im not the best at unfamiliar ship's" Quil said "But their might be a chance I could be of any help."
Quil Walked back to the ship and away from the abandoned cantina and lively X-wing, his BB unit scouting for attention over the swamplands right into the distance.

[member="Vigilant"]

Vigilant followed Quil for a few seconds before saying, "You probably know more about it than I do." He had a basic idea of which area he wanted to look through. He had the coordinates on a datapad, a ship had caught his interest on the way on to the planet. It had looked very old and very interesting. "I will be heading to the ship, here are the coordinates and my frequency. If you would like to help I could definitely use it."

He handed the datapad over, before walking back to the Z-95. The ship quickly lifted off and started flying towards the area he had in mind. What he saw, thought he did not recognize it as such, was an ancient Derriphan battleship. It had massive holes in areas and its hangar was of the oldest type, one that opened and closed. It was not the largest ship in the fleet floating around the planet, but it was the one whose design had caught Vigilant's interest. He found the hangar open enough to fit his vessel in and landed it. Most hangars these days were considerably larger, but then again this ship had come from a time when they were still learning how to fly in space. He stepped out of the vessel, into the empty space of the hangar. He hoped that [member="Quil Sato"] had a space suit, otherwise he would not be able to help until such time as Vigilant could get the power running again. Though that was assuming that the organic wanted to help. He might not and Vigilant did not blame him if he did not, strangers were not normally the ones that people helped.

Quil Sato

Resistance Pilot.
Quil starred at the Z-95 of into the distance he took out a device of his own and looked for life. he searched the land he was on until now, and boy where there loads on the other side of the planet because the sun it was orbiting around was so hot, beings of that kind could only live on that side, he needed to scout that side f the planet because of the information on a computer drive on the other side of the planet had about other systems. from old being that had recorded them. He needed to go their it was his missison. he thought he could use [member="Vigilant"] s mission so he got back into his X-wing

"BB-4, come on buddy we need to get to the other side of the planet, we need information on the beings that live their, can you record the surfaces as much as we can in the atmosphere, were going back to Vigilant" BB-4 whizzed with excitement as the X-wing loomed into the atmosphere's presence.

Vigilant had taken a few moments to move some wreckage to the side of the Hangar, hopefully making enough space for [member="Quil Sato"]'s X-wing. His Z-95 beeped as its sensors picked up the rapid approach of an object. Vigilant assumed this to be the human, since there had been no fast moving objects in the vicinity of the massive starship so he guessed that it was the X-wing moving towards them.

Vigilant decided to wait up, he could make guesses as to what would need repairing. The first and most obvious would be the power generators. If there were to be any way of closing those doors and maybe getting some atmosphere into the ship, as well as getting the gravity running again, power would be required. He had found moving about relatively easy, magnetic soles on his feet allowed for more controlled movement, he wondered if Quil had those in a spacesuit, if he had a suit. The droid assumed that the human had a suit, that was fairly standard for pilots.

He walked to the doorway out of the Hangar and pushed it open, yep power would be the first thing on the list. Without power the systems these doors were relatively easy to force open, and there was no atmosphere on the other side so Vigilant guessed that the ship had vented all of its air a long time ago.

Quil Sato

Resistance Pilot.
The X-wing flew into the hangar and landed next to the Z-95, He came to a halt and slowly got out and raced to Vigilant. "Hey, im not the best at reading accurate result but its says on the other side of this planet their might be some species that have been able to sustain life. its pretty dark, nothing grows, is this possible? it might be a malfunction" BB-4 made his way to the group and stood still and silent.

Vigilant found the question most intriguing. What he had seen of the planet had certainly led to the conclusion that life was an impossibility now on that world. But then again, there were worlds that had incredibly hostile environments and life still managed to find a way. That gave hope to Vigilant, that the time wasted trapped under his old master was not enough for his brother to destroy too many lives. But it also answered the question in a way that Vigilant would not have anticipated. "I see it as possible. I mean worlds like Ryloth are supremely inhospitable except in very small areas, yet life still continues. I am not the most knowledgeable in such areas, but I believe that you could find some strange forms of life on that part of the planet. Then again it could be a misreading on the part of the scanner. Are you looking for something down there?"

Vigilant pushed the door to the rest of the ship further opened and looked into the hallway beyond. To his left the way was blocked with debris, it looked quite heavy, but then again they were in a gravity free environment for the moment. The right seemed more inviting however, it headed towards the aft of the vessel making it more likely to be region with the engines and therefore the place to begin his repairs. He looked forward to checking out the ship more, just to see what remained of the old vessel and what could be brought back online. But his enthusiasm was tempered by the need to remain here and work with the human, he did not want to leave [member="Quil Sato"], after all he had all the experience or at the very least more than Vigilant did.

Quil Sato

Resistance Pilot.
"your response, it sparks a few questions and curious to know more about this hangar, if we can find information here. it could be helpful for finding information on this planet, I really need it. charting planets in the region is my job. for the rebellion, for the resistance. im just one part of loads of squadrons, finding all the planets in the system, the rim, the galaxy, even outside and expanding. but of course, getting as much the and weapons could help defeat the next empire. this hangar and facility looked big from the outside . I bet we could find something useful to my mission and yours, what did you say was your mission anyway?"

Quil looked at [member="Vigilant"] with curious intent, he was figuring all the time since he met Vigilant what his history was, and why was he on this desolate planet anyway. he was ready to find out what was in the endless corridors of this building.

Vigilant decided that the short term mission was the one he would share. No need to spread his knowledge of his brother yet. Better to make friends and solidify his place in the galaxy before allowing his intentions to become fully understood. His brother could learn of it through almost anything and then would use that against Vigilant and the droid could not allow that to happen. Thus he replied calmly, "I would like to try and get this ship running to some extent and hopefully get it to a state where it will be capable of interstellar flight. I just want to get the ship capable of interplanetary flight. Perhaps there is information on the ship's computers, if they have information that is still usable."

Quil Sato

Resistance Pilot.
"You make a great point" Quil Scouted.
He looked back at the BB unit, BB-4 was quiet and not taking any notice to Quil's Actions, He looked back up at vigilant and asked "So, wanting to see if the're any computer's or any source of information we can find on this soulless, desolate planet.."

[member="Vigilant"]

"If you are willing to help. I think the power will need to be started in order to get any sort of system running on this ship." Vigilant stepped into the hall, looking around again. It was most interesting, very archaic. He did not exactly recognize the ship's design or what era it was from. But it was pleasing to his eyes and he looked forward to using it to destroy his brother and bring security to the galaxy.

"You said you were part of a rebellion. A rebellion against what?" Vigilant had found a few bits of information about a number of Rebellions over the years. Most of the time it had been against a tyrant government that had control of most of the galaxy. But that was not the case at this point, there were a few governments that were similar to the old ones, but they were nowhere near as powerful.

Quil Sato

Resistance Pilot.
"The rebellion against the Empire" He walked into the hangar doors, just dark and gloomy hangar doors that scouted off into the distance, he kept talking "I was there, in the battle of yavin" He Said "I controlled the weapon system back on the base, im not part of the red squadron that took down the death star, I just helped." He continued to give [member="Vigilant"] the answer to his first question

"I believe I may find a power source somewhere in these corridors." by the looks of the architecture, about.. a century ago this place was built. you might have trouble but you might find some descent power.
