ToC:Faroq VS Vaelorian

The sounds of buzzing words and sparking conversation could be heard in a low rumble in the gladiatorial arena known as The Cauldron. Thousands of people lined balconies, stadium seating, and individual boxes granted to VIP's. The audience lined a large ring in the center of the stadium sheer walls surrounding it and confining anyone who would be trapped inside. Six gates lined the inner walls of the Cauldron, each a heavy durasteel that dropped down from above, each carved with intricate pictures of Gladiators and Beasts alike. The arena itself was nothing but sand, rock, and and small clumps of recently coagulated blood. It was a harsh unforgiving arena, the perfect place for the first round of a tournament.

This time the crowd was abuzz with speculation, rumors, and talk of mystery. Both competitors of round nine had never been seen before, both had never been heard of and both seemed to be powerful warriors. One a Khaleesh named Farow Kela'ahin, the other a Maelibus named Vaelorian. Both species were not oft seen in the galaxy and as they took to the field the crowd cheered for the uniqueness of the fight that was about to happen.

Ilyena stood with defined interest on her balcony, watching the two warriors assemble.

“Begin!” The announcer yelled.

Vaelokin walked to his designated position within the arena. His hands were clasped in front of each other within his black robes, while two lightsabers were hidden within the robes. Neither he made, borrowed more like, though he still used them more than any other weapon. He didn't know his opponent, but he wouldn't give his opponent the chance to know him. He would have to use his species's muscles and speed to overcome this Kaleesh. Though he never heard of the species and didn't know what their specialities truly lied. At least he knew where his own did.

His lightsabers wre concealed from view due to his black robes seeming a tad over large for him and were hanging a few inches past his fingertips when they hung at his side, though they didn't when he took his position. And then the announcer said begin, and he started to charge forwards towards the Kaleesh, his right hand clenching on the black hilt of the lightsaber, and brushing over the ignition, it would only be a matter of time until the Kaleesh felt his lightsaber upon his flesh.

Faroq stood with his rifle in his hands as Ilyena began the match. His cloak billowed behind him, the hilt of a two-handed curved vibroblade jutting over his shoulder, daggers sheathed on both arms. His war mask was shined and polished especially for this match, a personal contest of combat. Seeing the large opponent charge forward with surprising quickness, Faroq was only able to fire off 2 shots from his long rifle, and that was with his force enhanced reflexes. As the large robed figure was nearly upon him, the War Shaman rolled to the side, dropping the rifle and pulling out the vibroblade in one smooth motion, slicing with the momentum of the roll at the target's knees. He could tell that this opponent was strong, and fast, so his only choice was to do the unexpected.

Vaelokin kept running straight towards the Kaleesh, and when the rifle snapped upwards, he lowered his body to the side, and performed a sideways flip to avoid the first shot, but the second shot left a hint of a burning sensation upon his back, but when he landed straight on course it didn't seem to affect him and he kept coming. You see, his armour protected him from such things. Not metal armour, or any materials like that, but armour like the type you were born in. Sometimes it was good to be Maelibus.

His right hand snapped up and ignited the beam outwards towards the ground, the crimson beam came out just in time to hit the vibroblade that @[member="Faroq Kela'ahim"] pulled out. And when they grated upon each other, he flipped upwards so that his crimson bea would leave the vibroblade behind, and he angled his body so that while he was in mid-flip he was turning to face the Kaleesh, and he swung to the back of it's head, and then eventually landed behind it in a practiced roll. He would have to deal with that long range rifle. It would do well to deal with the Kaleesh quickly.

Watching the Maelibus flip over him, Faroq desperately threw his upper body downward, placing a hand on the ground to support the weight. He was not fast enough to avoid the saber, however, as a glancing blow sizzled across his chestplate, leaving an inch wide furrow through the metal. Watching his opponent land and roll away, Faroq knew that he had to keep his distance. He wasn't sure that even his force enhanced reflexes could keep up with the primal nature of Vaelokin. Reaching an arm out towards the Maelibus, he reached deep within the force, and launched a wave of it at him, hoping to blast him further away before Vaelokin could recover from the roll. After that, he scrambled to his rifle, lined up the shot, and began firing.

By the time Vaelokin had landed upon the ground, he was already moving forwards, only to be halted by the force wave. It didn't stop him enough however, his legs were always pumping, moving and wouldn't let him halt. To cease movement would cease life, and Vaelokin didn't mean to die yet. And so he continued forwards after he regained his balance, and he sent a push through the Force to the rifle that had been dropped previously.

Whether the force push actually affected the rifle or not, Vaelkin didn't know, or care, he continued forwards and with the Force, nudged the rifle to the side so that his enemy's shots missed him by only centimetres and then he flipped over the alien, low enough to swing at him with his crimson beam, but just high enough to avoid getting shot.

Faroq watched the dust swirl from the Maelibus's force push, heading towards his rifle. He wrapped his fingers around it, tightening his grip as he felt it sway sideways, his shots firing wide. Suddenly, Vaelokin was on him once again, leaping over him at an angle that Faroq wouldn't be able to bring the rifle around. Crouching quickly to get out of range of the lightsaber, 2 daggers shot out towards the flying opponent as Faroq threw them from their forearm hilts. Dropping the rifle once more, he picked up the vibroblade, and swung at the Maelibus diagonally, from left hip to right shoulder.

@[member="Vaelokin"]

The first dagger was dealt with quickly and cleanly. A crimson beam tore through the hilt of the dagger, and spun it off course. The second smashed into his right shoulder, though his armour like skin protected him from serious harm, and it just left an indent of where it had hit him. Though Vaelokin didn't know that. He could only wonder if it would impede him a bit in the near future of this duel.

And then he landed with @[member="Faroq Kela'ahim"] in front of him and by the time the rifle had left his hands, Vaelokin was already turning it around with the Force so that it could be facing his opponent, though before it had even came around to face his opponent and have it in it's sights, it was already firing thanks to a little bit of a squeeze from the Force around the trigger.

Then, his lightsaber that was already in front of him spun around and smashed with the Force that was gifted to a Maelibus, into the hilt of the vibroblade, and he leaned away from the swing, if it worked, he would have severed a few fingers from the hand of the Kaleesh, and hopefully cut through the hilt itself.

Watching the rifle spin, Faroq used the momentum of his swing to twist out of the way, the blast singing a hole in his cape. As the lightsaber began to cut through the hilt of his vibroblade, the Shaman let go of the blade, reaching out with the force to his opponent's lightsaber, attempting to press the ignition. He failed, however, his eyes crinkled with a grimace.

@[member="Vaelokin"]

In actual fact the lightsaber's ignition wasn't pressed because Vaelokin's oversized hand covered it, although gently, and since most force users needed to have line of sight upon something to best utilize telekinesis, besides he wouldn't know which side of the lightsaber the ignition was on, and his lightsaber was already swinging to the kaleesh's neck.

"You can't win."

@[member="Faroq Kela'ahim"]

Watching the lightsaber rush towards his head, Faroq tried to bend backwards to get out of the way once more, but was not quick enough. The beam of the saber cut a black swath through his mask, from his left ear to the bottom of the jaw. Searing pain filled his senses, as the corner of the mask fell off, revealing faded orange skin on a reptilian face, the jowls and corner of the mouth slashed with an angry burn across their features, marking the borders of the now separated mask. Acting on instinct, the War Shaman kicked at the knee of @[member="Vaelokin"], dropping to the ground and rolling towards his fallen blade, the handle now shortened to one hand length. kipping to his feet, he circled warily.

"You will find that victory is a cruel temptress, beast."

Vaelokin watched as the mask was cut by the lightsaber. His triumph was evident in the Force, but when the kick came, he didn't see it coming, but he paid it no heed. His armoured flesh took the hit in stride, though the damage it should have done him wasn't as it should be as he was already stepping away from the beast again, though it did trip him up slightly, it was good the Kaleesh had gone after his weapon instead of striking him directly.

Vaelokin made no responses, instead he waved his hand out at @[member="Faroq Kela'ahim"] and the Force was released in a minor wave, just enough to unbalance him, and then Vaelokin was upon the alien once more. His lightsaber swung up to his neck, while Vaelokin's second hand found his second black lightsaber hilt and was already igniting it to guard his undefended body. The Kaleesh War Shaman would find it wouldn't be easy beating a Maelibus.

Using the momentum of the force blast to dance away from the blade of the lightsaber, Faroq kept himself outside of the range of the glowing weapon. Reaching to the force, he began to swirl sand around him causing a mini twister to center on him. Pushing it away, he targeted it on the Maelibus, tightening the swirl so the blinding flurry closed in on @[member="Vaelokin"]. Taking advantage of the distraction, Faroq went for his rifle once more, and let off three shots as he backpedaled, rifle in one hand and blade in the other.

Vaelokin only moved closer while the supposed 'mini' twister formed and was sent to him. He could only wonder as to what it would accomplish. They were beside each other, and all it really accomplished was make his robes flap in the wind.

The Maelibus wasted no time in simply staying with the Kaleesh, swinging both lightsabers at his back, as if he were a slave. Though they didn't touch him. And then when the Kaleesh brought the rifle around, Vaelokin's right lightsaber was moving to to block the shots and deflect them to the best of his ability to the Kaleesh, and he was throwing his left blade, with the Force guiding it as a saberthrow to the smaller beings legs.

@[member="Faroq Kela'ahim"]

Seeing the light saber thrown by @[member="Vaelokin"] flying towards him, Faroq dropped the rifle and vibroblade and jumped over the spinning saber, reaching out with force enhanced reflexes to pluck the weapon out or the air and into his grip. Landing, he turn and brandished his newly claimed weapon, holding a defensive posture.

The Maelibus continued running after his lightsaber had been launched at @[member="Faroq Kela'ahim"], he wasted no time in moving when the Kaleesh had leaped over his lightsaber, an by the time the Kaleesh had already turned around, Vaelokin was in front of him and swung at it's neck, though it was a feint, it was always a feint with him, and when the large being made as if to make another step to continue his spin, he halted it and instead with his powerful muscles, and joints within his wrist and arm, swung his remaining crimson beam at the Kaleesh's wrist that held his lightsaber.

Simultaneously, the Maelibus had been holding the secondary lightsaber in his right hand, and when eh had thrown his primary beam at the Kaleesh, he was left without a weapon within his main hand, and so to the best of his ability, he tried to wrap the Force around the Kaleesh to hold it there so that he may relieve the Kaleesh of his lightsaber, and it's wrist.
