Waiting in the sky
How long had they known each other? Jared and Lia were doing their thing for a while now. At least since the Fel empire had fallen and they made their way to the Fringe. And even during that, and the foundation of the Empire of the Hand. Piloting was what they did. And they both did it well.
Sure, they were launched from larger ships with the goal to destroy the enemy. But here he was, with Lia, making a delivery. And of course, she knew best.
Jared was not an invalid. He was a Starchaser. One thing they knew how to do was fly. Sure not many Starchasers were the best mechanics, but put them behind the stick and they were fine. Screw up the navicomputer, and there were issues for the ones that didn't grab their namesake by the horns.
"We're not lost." He had called out from the navigators chair in the shuttle. "Just... off course." Was he humming a song to put the coordinates in? No. But he was trying to fiddle with the computer to get the location accurate. Call it a challenge.
He didn't need directions. Not from the local space station. Not at all
