Mark had been given a rare day off from the bar, and since he'd decided that Coruscant perhaps wasn't the type of place he could go wandering around and seeing the sights on his own, he'd spend it around his new vessel instead. It was a chance for him to get further acquainted, make some running repairs, try and work out what he'd like to do for the future in terms of upgrades, that type of thing. Besides, his time here had been far from what he'd expected. Run-down, full of undesirable characters, dangerous...it wasn't quite his scene. It might be time to move on, and before he did, he may as well get the freighter in as good a shape as it could be.
The ship was a Jast 1, the entry-level model made by the Jast Shipwright Co. It was small, nimble, SUPER fast, but it was built mostly from salvaged components. It was why it was affordable. It was why he could afford it. It was a modular design, so you could effectively take a part out and plug something newer and better in it's place, provided you had enough left in the power reserves to accept it. He could make this thing into pretty much whatever he wanted. Now he just had to decide what.
We join our superstar chef crawled under the bottom of the ship, knocking away at the hull to try and free a panel that it seemed had been welded shut. It didn't seem to want to budge, no matter how hard he hit it. Unfortunately, the panel next to it, which was closer to his midsection, was a little too eager to come away, sending a sheet of metal crashing down on top of him. The impact knocked the breath from his lungs, and he groaned in discomfort as he wrestled for breath. The panel wasn't heavy enough that he was trapped, but moving it...yeah that could wait a second...
