- Electrobinoculars along with night vision and thermal capable gun sights
- Miscellaneous
- Weapon rack for 3 Tranquilizer Las-Hands
- Small electric heater for food or beverages
STRENGTHS
- True tank: The defences of the tank are formidable against lasers, kinetic weapons, and explosives alike. The use of composite armour makes it especially resistant to HEAT and kinetic penetrator weapons.
- Torch: The Torch carries a large and powerful complement of weapons, giving it enough firepower to bring down very heavily armoured opponents
- Droid brain backup: If the Torch is badly damaged and the crew must escape, or if a crew member is killed in action, the emergency droid brain can take over from the people inside. This can temporarily keep the tank in action, or cover the crew as they escape.
- Ion/EMP resistance: The copper electronic shielding allows this vehicle to take hits from EMP and ion weapons without much damage.
WEAKNESSES
- Droid brain: The emergency droid brain isn’t very smart, and is only a stopgap measure. If the droid brain is tampered with, it will undoubtedly cause major problems for the crew and those around it.
- Vulnerable missiles: The missiles are exposed, and can be damaged or destroyed with a sufficiently powerful weapon.
- Rather conspicuous: It’s large and loud, no sneaking up on the enemy.
- Not a transport: The tank cannot carry passengers and only enough room for crew equipment.
- Exposed tracks: A sufficiently powerful weapon can easily destroy the tracks of this tank
DESCRIPTION
Differing from the norm of Arms Dynamics vehicles, the Torch Heavy Tank uses the large caliber Torchstar cannon developed alongside the tank. The tank has a large crew, including five humans and a terramech droid all needed to keep it operational. The tank’s armament consists of the main cannon for dispatching other tanks, gunships and enemy fortifications, the twin coaxial rapid-fire laser cannons for fending off fighter-bombers and enemy infantry, and a remote controlled repeating blaster for the commander and assistant gunner as a last line of defence. The tank also comes armed with eight large concussion missiles, able to be configured for multiple roles including as an anti air weapon.
The defences of the Torch are heavily layered. The first line of defence is the shielding, designed to take the brunt of infantry small arms fire and keep the armour as undamaged as possible for when bigger threats try to take it on. The second line of defence is the composite armour that protects the entire hull of the tank, providing an exceptional degree of protection from almost every type of weapon. The final line of defence is the copper electronic shielding, directing ion blasts and EMPs away from the vulnerable components.
