Touched by Fire (Completed)

Rianna stood upon her home world once again so many memories rushing back to greet her, and a few she wished she could forget. She walked quietly towards the palace she could have taken a transport, but she preferred to walk. She went medical supplies ahead, at her heels Edee moved with her.

Citizens of Alderaan gave her a wide birth looking at the manka cat, the fear on their faces so out of place. If they only new how gentle Edee was, staring up at the sky and trying to question their mother were the twins Dral and Maeve. "Buir its so green here is it always" "Mom did you see how scared they are?"

Rianna nodded, "Yes my little ones" though they were close to 10 now and already training with their father [member="Ordo"] with the fleet over head Rianna had brought along one of the medical frigates, and the Dancing Thranta their personal ship. Vibrations and visions from the force told her she needed to be here.

Family needed her.

She paused and closed her eyes Faith was in trouble Rianna picked up the pace, "We will have plenty of time to look and talk we must go and see Aunt Arianna."

Faith was injured she could tell that she needed to get to her and the supplies she sent ahead.

When the ship landed in the Palace hangar Draco had already lifted Faith back into his arms, very gingerly holding her legs so as not to disturb or bump or agitate her broken leg, and continued speaking to her. One of the few things he new about head trauma was that the victims shouldn't sleep until a doctor let them rest. What if she had bleeding in her brain? The seer had mentioned she would be injured and wasn't sure about whether she would survive. The seer had been right about a lot of things.

Draco pushed his worrying thoughts from his mind and rushed her from the ship and onto the palace grounds as soon as the ramp lowered enough for him to take her off, leaving the other pair behind to deal with whatever, it wasn't important what they were doing anymore. He was to busy carrying Faith towards help, anyone that could help her. "Faith, baby, I need to know where I'm taking you? Please, stay awake. Who am I looking for?" The cold in her fingers and face hadn't gone away and her breathing was ragged. In truth he was exhausted. Hours searching for her through a blizzard, constant draw on the Force, and then once he found her he pushed a great deal of his energy and essence into her, and again once he was no longer carrying her down that mountain. His muscles and bones ached badly, and he felt the urge to yawn and fall over into a soft warm bed.

Alas, he could not until she was safe, and someone told her she was fine and free to leave whenever she wanted to. Then he could carry her back to her bed in the palace and they could both pass out and rest together. Until then though, he doubted there would be any rest for him, he didn't think it was possible to shut his eyes while Faith was so injured.

Rianna's interns were meeting [member="Draco Vereen"] , "Commander Vereen, please place her here." They offered a stretcher to ease transitioning her to a room.

"We are taking her to her rooms where Master Rianna is waiting to look at her" The interns however began their own assessment of Faith as they were walking along.

They had some of the basic information of what had been done, they were slowly removing her clothing and replacing it with a sheet. There were things they could address now. The scanning of her bones, the caked blood on her head, concern over her fingers and toes slippers and gloves filled with bacta were placed on Faith.

The greatest concern was that she was not conscious.

"You did well in finding her" A soft voice spoke as the group entered into the Princess's rooms. Faiths bed had been completely turned down. Rianna nodded, and the team prepared to move her to the bed.

"Commander Vereen I presume" Rianna stepped closer to look at him, "Are you alright?" Rianna looked to Faith, "Claudia will you look at Commander Vereen please." The large black case that Rianna had them bring now sat on the table next to Faith's bed.

Dral and Maeve knew when it was time to leave, and they wanted to explore the palace. Edee however growled and then lay on the floor near the doors either to keep people out, or prevent them from coming in.

Rianna opened the case to reveal the Healing Crystal of Fire it radiated healing energies and was the one reason her riduur [member="Ordo"] still lived. It would help heal Faith too. She looked to where Draco was could she get him to talk more, "Can you tell me how you found her, and by that I mean what was her condition."

Rianna nodded to the interns they knew their teacher and master well enough to know what she wanted.

Draco kept a hold of Faith at all times as they rushed through the palace, even as they slipped gloves with soothing bacta lotion over her hands, he held onto her someway somehow. He couldn't let her go, he just couldn't let her slip from his grasp. Last time he had let her go, she had ended up like this, in a stretcher, hurting and sick.

The calm, cool voice entered the room and Draco looked up, tears welling up in his grey eyes, "Yes, I'm Vereen. Call me Draco." The nurse came over to him and with a shrug, he pulled away from her sharply, glaring at the woman he tried to pull him away. "No, I'm fine. Nothing happened to me that I can't manage on my own. She's the one that needs your help." He glanced back at Faith's feverish, injured form, still unconscious, still beautiful and perfect. She was so surreal in this state, and he needed her to be real, to be whole and back in his arms.

"She was at the bottom of a crevasse, he leg was broken, she was going in and out of consciousness when I found her. She was in wet clothes, so I cut them off and put her in my armor glove so she wouldn't be in the cold. She was bleeding a little from her head, and her pupils were restricted into pin points." Gingerly, he wiped Faith's brow, his breathing ragged and his voice rather panicky, relaying his worry and distress at her condition. "She wasn't really responsive. Only enough to tell me to come to you instead of a hospital," She had barely registered him when they had been on the mountain.

Draco glanced at the stone Rianna produced, noting its presence in the Force. Interesting, but Draco's focus was currently devoted towards Faith. She was all he could think about right now.

[member="Rianna Ar'klim-Organa"]

Rianna nodded, "Draco" When the intern approached and he shook her off Rianna arched a brow, using her skills to radiated calm and knowing that he was upset seeing the shine in his eyes, she whispered again for one always gets further with a whisper than a shout, "Draco, let Bess look you over you will be of no use to Faith if you are hurt. And it will only take a few moments. You can see Faith from here, you can see we are helping her, so..." Rianna reached over touched his shoulder, "allow my people to do their work."

She withdrew her hand and listened to Draco explain how he found Faith, normally she would speak telepathically to her staff it at times was useful and quicker. "You did very well considering all things."

Eli stopped, "Master the head injury is the worst, and..." he motioned for Rianna to come to him quite an odd request considering Rianna nodded to Bess and Draco to look at a scan. She looked at Faith and then back to Draco she had a feeling that Draco did not know Faith's total condition and she at this moment would not be the one to tell him.

"Take the necessary precautions"

Internal injuries such as this were always the trickiest there was so much she could do as a Jedi, but as a trained Doctor it opened her eyes to other avenues.

Rianna turned back to Draco, "I am Rianna, I am Faith's Aunt her mother is my sister. It is also so obvious that a blind man could see you are in love with her. Now you can stay where you are for the contact will be reassuring to her." Rianna kept a steady gaze upon him. As she spoke the others were already forming around Faith their heads bowed, eyes closed as they began to meditate upon the Force.

"These are all Mandalorian Jedi Healers. They are going to use their connection to the force, and the use of the healing crystal to begin to heal Faith's body, to reinforce, feed her connection to it. They scan of her head injury indicates a pressure build up, we will try to relieve through the force, but if we cannot, then a surgery will be needed."

What could she say to him that would give him ease, nothing truly but the truth. What he may not realize was that Bess would be transferring some of her force energies to Draco during this process.

Rianna put her hand on the area where the swelling was, the skin had split to her skull it was amazing that she was still alive at all. The brain had swelled she hoped that in restoring Faith's balance within the force that the swelling would begin to lessen and allow Faith to wake up.

Even if she was on bed rest the next week if she would wake up they could treat her more efficiently by asking her questions.

"Do you have any questions before I join them?"

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco shook off the second intern as well, shaking his head as she tried to look him over. "I'm not hurt. Just a little cold and tired. All I need is a nice blanket and a bed once I know Faith is going to be okay." He felt Rianna's hand on his shoulder and he tried to smile weakly at her, "Really, I'm fine. Just tired from pouring as much of my power as I could into her. I'll be fine with a change of clothes and a good nights rest." He kept his hand holding Faith's hand, trying his best to stand up and out of the way while remaining in constant contact.

His eyes darted from Faith to Rianna and then to her assistants, they were doing their best to help Faith, but they were also trying to keep secrets, something from him. Her injuries must be just as bad as he had assumed they were, which meant he needed to be here, for better or for worse, she needed him by her side. He glanced back and forth at the group and their royal patient, part of him wanted to ask questions and demand answers, roar at them for trying to keep him out of the loop and burn them in his fires jealously, but he knew better. They were who Faith trusted most to help her, and that part pained him, that he was helpless to help her and she knew that, that he couldn't be trusted to save her this time, but his pride hardly mattered with her life on the line. With the stakes so high, he would take all the help he could get.

"I'm sorry. It wasn't something she wanted everyone to know, but when she got hurt, I," His heart was beating and thundering. They had told a few people, and by now with the few they had told it had become a bit more known that they were an item. Still most people probably heard of the pair and assumed it was far less than what it was. "And none of that mattered as much as getting her back alive. She's mentioned an aunt to me before, but not a Rianna." Tia was the aunt she had always mentioned, never Rianna. It wasn't that he didn't believe the woman trying to heal Faith was her kin, only that he hadn't been told of her during his time with Faith. "I'm sorry, that doesn't matter right now. Just, just do everything you can for her."

His mind flicked to a trio of Holocrons in his position. They were far away, but in one of them held ancient and powerful knowledge that could be useful in this particular situation. Several of the Dark Lord's tomes from which the vast majority of his knowledge had come from had information about healing others from the brink of death. Draco shook the thoughts from his mind. That isn't what Faith would want, she would not want him to go running back to his Sith life, even to save her.

"Do you have any questions before I join them?"

His heart cried out and his mind swam with a million questions as he stood slight behind Faith holding her hand. What are her chances, what can I do, how can I help, is there anything else that can be done? More questions flooded after these, but his mouth only croaked out one word as Rianna looked to him. "No."

[member="Rianna Ar'klim-Organa"] [member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Rianna looked at Bess, Bess nodded back. Bess would do as Rianna directed and even as she stood there Rianna herself felt all of Draco's emotions.

Rianna as a healer also an empathy, emotions around her were like images. Flashes in her mind, she watched Draco for a moment finally he came to his decision and said no. He could have asked there was only one thing right now that she would not tell him.

"Very well."

Rianna put her hand on Faith's forehead whispered low, "Faith it's Tia it's going to be ok.Shhhhh' rest your mind munchkin" Rianna closed her eyes. The force flowed around them Rianna knew where each person in the room was, could see their presence in the force, the group of healers focused all of their energy, except for Bess all focused on Faith, Rianna focused the healing energy on the injury.

Healing within the force, looking for the point where the force would seem choked off blocked an injury. She had to calm Faith who kept reaching out.

Tia!!! I'm afraid.

Shhhh it's ok let me work.

But Tia...the baby...

Shhhh rest dearest

But Draco, he doesn't

Shhh I know

Rianna worked to get Faith to calm she wished that Faith would tell her where it hurt but she wouldn't scold her now. She waited she found the darkness which meant to her an injury.

Rest...

Bess in the meantime focused to give strength to Draco to ease the hurt of his muscles, to give relief to his body. And then she turned to aide with Faith.

Rianna knew she could not always completely heal Faith, her bones were set to mending, but not healed completely. Her ribs broken, and fractured weaved together and would begin healing, closing of the wounds no more bleeding, but her mind. Rianna would give all she had for Faith.

Edee crawled across the floor on her belly to get to Rianna sensing her Master growing weaker.
Rianna did not do anything with the bones of Faith's skull she only worked to reduce the swelling, soothing, cooling.

Four hours had passed and Rianna was herself weakened as she withdrew her hand from Faith's forehead, then she looked to Draco, she half smiled though now dark circles appeared under her eyes.

"She will rest for a bit I will leave the crystal, a nurse, and a medical droid. I need to meditate. Then I will return. Draco..she will be fine. While her injuries are not completely healed that being pushed to heal quicker. The medical droid will apply some bacta patches, her mind though. You should stay, I'll have Ana bring you some food"

Rianna looked down at Edee who growled, "Come on Edee, let's find the kids"

Rianna headed for the door slowly perhaps showing her age healing drained the force and the body of those trained. The interns would all retreat to mediate as well.

"Draco," She looked back, "if I'm needed send Ana"

Rianna wasn't ready for anything else.

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco stood and watched, waiting, feeling the Force flowing around him, the strands of the web pulling taunt and swirling about the group of empaths seeing to his beloved. He heard Rianna refer to herself as Tia and he nodded knowingly. So this was the aunt Faith had spoken about to him on occasion. She was a powerful Force User by all accounts from what he could feel, and from what Faith had told him she was a healer and a doctor, devoted to helping others. Compared to a number of Jedi he knew, she was probably closer to the Jedi way than they were.

Draco could do nothing but watch and listen, standing beside Faith, never letting go of her hand, his thumb constantly rubbing the back of her palm gently, just letting her know he was still here. That he hadn't let go, that he hadn't left her. Minutes stretched to hours, and that was a testament to how injured she had been, how extensive they had been to her body. Every broken bone, the intense cold that had set into her body, weakening her. He had to keep a hold of her for himself as well, realizing how close he had been to losing her, he wasn't willing to leave her side. Not yet. Not so soon after almost losing her.

After four hours, longer than he could have imagined, far longer than he could have ever managed himself. Draco was impressed with Rianna's commitment and her ability, and like all Organa women, Rianna was easy on the eyes. A good thing. Not that it mattered much to him what Faith looked like, but it was apparent he would need to hit the gym more often and eat healthy, probably cut back on the alcohol if he was going to age half as well as Faith would. He found himself thinking about the future and smiled, realizing he still had a great deal of hope and still had a future with Faith to plan.

Rianna pulled her hand away and Draco looked up at her, watching her, listening. He was still quite worried about Faith, but Rianna spoke rather confidently and reassuringly. "Okay, could someone bring me a towel and some fresh clothes. Maybe a comfortable chair to put by the bed?" He asked, looking around, realizing he was still in the same clothes he had worn while spending hours up on the mountain seeking Faith, and after he had found her, he had worn them thigh deep in snow drifts. He wanted to get comfortable and lay down to rest beside Faith, maybe grab something to eat. In the mean time.

"Yes ma'am. I'll be here if you need me for anything." Though he couldn't think of anything that would call him out of the room. Perhaps an attack that required him to defend her, but that was unlikely. A recliner was brought first and set next to the bed for him, something he could lay in and still be close to Faith. For clothes he was brought a very simple shorts and t shirt and towel, and a small tray of food that appeared to be mostly greens and some form of grilled poultry. He was hungry but didn't have much of an appetite at the moment, nonetheless wolfed it down. If for no other reason than to ease the growling in his stomach so he could rest.

He picked up a blanket off the bed where the droid had laid it, the medical droid standing, watching Faith's vital signs at the other side of the bed. It was a comfortable blanket, smooth and soft. Certainly made for a royal family member. He smiled as he looked down at Faith, resting what appeared to be comfortably in the Force. As he took up the blanket that had been left Draco noticed a datapad, left by the healers and covered up while they had been cleaning up after themselves.

It was smooth and a specialized medical datapad, having a list of all her conditions and ailments on it. As Draco lay down he scrolled through it, covering himself up with the blanket and laying back. He had no intentions on sleeping, but just sitting, relaxing while he waited for her to come to. He wanted to be awake when she woke so that he could speak to her as soon as she was able to speak. He got comfortable, looking through the datapad, holding her hand, gently massaging the muscles through the little bacta lotion glove she was wearing, holding her affectionately while he skimmed through her medical folder. Most of the words didn't mean anything to him, and he just didn't know the medical terms, but there was one he recognized instantly.

::Patient is in the early stages of Pregnancy::

That he knew. His heart sang with joy and happiness at the news, each thundering beat echoing through his body as it began to race. She was carrying his child.

[member="Rianna Ar'klim-Organa"] [member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Faith could hear noises around her, unfamiliar noises, her mind not quite registering where she was slowly she opened her eyes and started looking around.

Her mouth felt it had old socks in it. First she saw the medical droid silently watching. Then she looked further to her right and saw the black box that her Tia carried, a grateful smile caressed pale pink lips Tia was here she had really talked to her. That whole thing felt like a dream.

She looked down her arms was in a soft cast, and so was her leg, her fingers and toes were floating inside the bacta gloves and socks, then she looked to her left. Her head still hurt but the pressure was not so much, but the throbbing thump thump just beyond her ear was a reminder of her injury.

There he was she didn’t say anything she just watched even in his sleep he looked tired, worn out as well he should be.

He had come for her, and even though she knew others had been there it warmed her heart that HE had come for her. She’d learn the names of the others later she’d ask him.

She smiled, his dark hair framed his face, and his beard slightly thicker from not shaving he looked so handsome and sexy. He was always to her. It would be hard to explain to some when they asked, why do you love him, look at him.

Yes look at him. Have you ever seen anyone so devoted? Anyone who would walk through fire? Someone who loved so much they worked to change their life just for them?

[member="Draco Vereen"] was many things to the galaxy around them. Business man. Mercenary. Mandalorian. Alor. Lover. Father. Beyond all of that though he was a man who had his own dreams of the life he wanted, and he wanted it with her.

She hated to wake him he looked so peaceful, “Draco” she whispered, “Hey sleepy head” would her words reach him. “Draco” She waited.

Draco's dreams were filled with happy thoughts, a house by a lake, Faith ever present, always with him. He had always pictured himself happy with a couple of children, and knowing that dream was becoming a reality with the woman he loved so dearly gave him happy dreams, even through his exhaustion and tire. She was going to be okay, Rianna had said so, but she still needed him by her side. He wanted to be the first thing she saw when she woke up, to be the one to tell her the good news in all these bad circumstances. Everything on the datapad had said her pregnancy hadn't been effected. After all a mother's body is made to protect her babies, and she was stronger than most, so it made since to him that their child was fine with her. Their child would always be safe with her, she was going to be an excellent parent, he knew. He just hoped he wasn't a failure at it, as he hadn't been the best parent for Abigail, often absent from her life.

He heard her voice, muffled a bit, and a little raspy, and Draco's stormy grey eyes opened as he stirred and looked around, meeting Faith's golden amber pools. He felt calm and comfortable, relaxed seeing the slight smile on her face and that she was awake. He smiled and leaned up to her, "Cyar'ika, I'm sorry I dozed off." His voice was gentle and kind, filled with his affection for her, and a little apologetic. He hadn't meant to fall asleep while he was supposed to be looking after her, he had just been unable to keep his eyes open any longer. "I meant to be awake when you opened your eyes." Draco's hand reached up and softly caressed her cheek, wiping an eyelash from it gingerly. "Do you need anything, Ner runi? Something to eat, something to drink? Something for the pain?" He asked inching over to sit close to his beloved princess.

His hand drifted until it rested on her stomach, softly feeling it while he stared into her eyes with a smile, waiting for her response. He was bursting to tell her the good news, certain she would be glad to hear it and ecstatic that everything was going to be fine, nothing to worry about. "Ner runi, I have good news." His smile remained and his other hand reached up for her own hand.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

She felt groggy, “Oh don’t be silly Draco, you need sleep” She wanted to reach out and touch him but the bacta gloves kept her from doing so.

“I’m sorry I made you worry, it’s written all over your face.” Faith leaned into his hand with her cheek as he caressed her gently.

She shook her head, “No, I have you here. I don’t need anything else right now.” When he said he had news she smiled. He was touching her stomach if only he knew what she knew if he knew that where his hand rested that the proof of their love was slowly taking form.

“Oh you do huh, sitting on strill quills to tell me?” What could he have to tell her, but she had something to tell him but then Tia had only said she knew not that everything is ok, was everything ok?

She needed to talk to Tia before she said something out of turn, told him something that was no longer true. But he had news so, this was good.
“What’s your news cyar’ika, after this day, good news is welcome’ She was a little dry and she wasn’t sure of much right now.

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco smiled wide, "Oh, cyar'ika, you know how I am. I wanted to be sure you were okay." He could see her want to touch him and so her leaned forward and kissed her forehead softly, reassuring himself and her as best he could. "Yes, yes you did, but you're okay, and that's what matters." She wasn't all the way to okay, but she was strong, and Rianna and he were both here and available for her, and he would pay the best doctors he could if he had to, though Rianna was probably the best available for Faith. "Tia said she'd be back, and that you were going to be fine, and that calmed my heart some."

"Yes, cyar'ika. I'm just excited is all." He was happy to have her here, in her own room, safe and in her palace on Alderaan, the Clans sitting in orbit with their Flagship protecting her home. This wasn't how he wanted this to go, but he was glad she was alive, and that she still loved him despite the fact he had been unable to protect her from this.

Draco's eyes shifted, looking at the chair searching for something, and then after a moment sifting through the blanket he found the datapad and held it up for her to see. "Cyar'ika, it's wonderful news. You're pregnant." He was grinning, his hand still softly resting on her stomach while his eyes searched her for a reaction. The only way he could have been happier was if the circumstances hadn't been surrounded by such worry and distress. If they could have found out together, sitting comfortable somewhere with the sun shining, and the temperature warm and comfortable. Even as it was, he was happy, overjoyed with the knowledge she was carrying his child, that for the first time he would be a father, and it was with his one and only. His Faith.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

"You're already calling her Tia, does that mean you like her?" Who couldn't like her Tia. Tia was gentle, firm, strong, and was able to put people in their place without it causing a disaster. Unlike when she did it and everything just went kablooey. "Did you see Edee? Isn't she wonderful? Did you pet her?" She squeezed her eyes together her head hurt.

"You're excited, well tell me why you're excited" Then he said it. OH Feth were her only thoughts. A Chill ran down her spine goosebumps peaked on her arms. How the Feth did he find out, Tia wouldn't have told him. She smiled. But it was too late, wasn't it. He knew. She was glad he was happy, she could see it in his face, feel it in the tender touch of his hand on her stomach.

"They told you? I can't believe they told you. Who told you? I just found out myself." Disappointment showed on her face, she frowned. She had plans for telling him and this wasn't it. This was not what she wanted.

After this whole day and someone stole her joy by telling Draco her news! WHY!

"You're not mad that I'm pregnant? I know we talked about having kids but it was suppose to be after everything was settled"

[member="Draco Vereen"]

Draco saw her look of fear and disappointment and frown, and was confused by her reaction. He had been so sure she would be overjoyed by the news. It was earlier than he had expected, but it was still good news. They were starting a family together, what could be bad about that. "No, they didn't tell me. They left the datapad and I saw it." Confusion lined his features as he looked down at her. "How could I be mad your pregnant? I know its a bit sooner than we had planned, than we expected, but its our child." His tone was a bit sharper than he had wished it was as the gears were turning. This isn't how he pictured this conversation going.

Draco's brow was furrowed and he was standing up, still holding her, still touching her belly gently and affectionately, but his tone was a bit different, more agitated. "I thought you'd be happy to find out you were pregnant, we've both talked about wanting children. Who cares if its a little bit earlier than we wanted? Not everything good in life goes according to plan, sometimes life throws something unexpected your way. That's how we found each other in the first place." His voice had gotten a little louder as he spoke to her, sharper and more agitated than he had intended it to be.

Then everything stopped, his heart, his blood running cold and her words clicked around in his head, their meaning a bit clearer. In his joy, and subsequent agitation at her reaction, he had almost missed one key phrase. Draco cocked his head to the side and looked at her sideways through narrow eyes, his voice dropping low, to a hushed, interrogative tone. "What do you mean you just found out? Did you know before now?" His chin raised a little when he spoke, eyes staring into hers looking for answers. He trusted and loved her far too much to use the Force to check to see if she was telling the truth or to probe her for answers, but that didn't mean he wouldn't use his own intelligence to decipher her words. "When did you find out?"

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

Oh this was all wrong, this wasn't how this was supposed to go!

She looked up at him saw that defiance, that beginning of anger with her, she clenched her teeth oh he wanted to do it this way did he, well fine she could do it this way too. She took a deep breath, waited for the calm to settle she didn't want the words to come out sharp, biting.

"About a week ago, I wasn't feeling good thought it was the bug so I went to a Doctor on Aldera and he told me." She shook her head, "This wasn't how this was suppose to go, not one bit. I wanted to tell you in a setting that wasn't this. I had a plan. FETH!!!" Oh how she wished she could use her hands right now.

"And don't you get on some high dewback with me [member="Draco Vereen"]." Her voice actually went up and then she began coughing. 'Ow" she said through clenched teeth, she coughed again. She looked around she wanted some water.

"GODDESS is nothing going right" She tried to sit up, but everything hurt.

"A WEEK AGO?" His voice was a full on shout, but he quickly pulled his tone back down to a hushed whisper, "You knew you were pregnant with our child for a week and didn't call me, or ask me to meet you or anything?" He noted the tone in her voice and the clench of her teeth, her resolve to fight him on this. Draco started to calm himself down, trying not to escalate the situation further. He loved her and really just wanted to cuddle her and be glad she was okay. "I'm just saying, I love you and you should have told me right away is all. What did you think could happen other than me being overjoyed."

And then he remembered why they were in her room, her wrapped in bandages in the first place. "Wait, wait, wait. You're telling me you knew you were carrying our child, and you still got on a fething Thranta? What the pitch black bottom of the nine hells were you thinking? You could have been killed, something worse than this could have happened to you. And you are getting on to me about being upset?"

She snarled at him, and coughed, instantly his expression changed to one of worry and concern, moving to sit down on the side bed. "Lay back down Cyar'ika," His voice concerned again, "Droid, water, now." He snapped. Draco was still quite angry, but she had been lucky enough to cough, and as angry as he was, his first concern was her health, which wasn't excellent at the moment.

[member="Faith Balor-Organa"]

"Yes I knew a week ago, yes with OUR child." Faith was getting more frustrated she couldn't move the stupid gloves were in the way. She began growling low, and looked defiantly up at him, "I wanted it to be special when I told you not...this" She grimaced now, "i wanted to go to the Lake house..but nooooo the fething thranta had to die and spoil everything." She coughed again. "I have duties and I got tied up in them..timing just.."

She wiggled around, while still coughing. "I will not be treated like a porcelain doll, there's nothing wrong with riding for the next few months, if the fething thranta had not started shuddering, and then died I wouldn't be in this mess" She was angry now how dare he raise his voice to her over this and when she wanted to make it nice for him.

She snatched the water from the droid, "Worse, worse then this, the only thing worse than this would be to be dead." She was still defiant still trying to sit up and talk with him, well yell at him.

She took a few deep breaths as she tried to drink the water but the cup kept slipping, "Farkle. I cant even hold the stupid glass" She was ready to throw it across the room, she hefted it into her palm.

She laid back she had no choice it was that or cough to death. She looked at him thinking, this is stupid.

He listened to her, and he felt a twinge of sorrow and guilt. He would have loved to be told on the lake house with her, in some sweet way. He knew he wouldn't have been angry to find out that way. But he would still have been a little upset with her for the thranta. "I have a right to fret over you and worry about you when something bad happens to you, and even when nothing happens. You are my princess and I treasure you more than anything else, of course I will be trying to treat you like a porcelain doll. That's just going to happen, and you are just going to have to get used to it." Draco's voice was still upset, but he realized he was less angry because she hadn't told him, more angry she was hurt. Her low growling and snarling, and her cough was bothering him.

"ANA!" His shout called in the woman who was outside, "Go get Rianna. Now." His tone was urgent, and Faith's cough was more important than him being angry with her. He waited until the woman was gone from the room before he sat beside her, trying to help her with the glass. "Baby, I love you, and I don't want anything bad to happen to you. Even this, I should have prevented, I should have known, I should have gotten to you sooner, and I should have been more help to you once I found you." He slid down the bed to sit near her head and wrapped touched her cheek. "I'm sorry I overreacted about you not telling me, I'm just stressed, and tired, and worried about you."

His voice was more even, "I love you, and I worry about you. I know you aren't some doll for me to keep on a shelf, and I know you won't let me. I'm not strong enough to lose you, and so I will do everything in my power to protect you, just as I will our child." He brushed the hair off his lover's face, "I know you are going to keep being strong and independent, burning with that fire that makes you try to yell and fight with me, even while every bone in your body hurts. But sometimes, you will have to let me shield you from danger." Draco was still angry, but he wasn't angry with her, at least not angry enough to fight with her while she was hurting.

"I'm not saying you don't have a right to worry." Ugh she closed her eyes she knew he was protective and she knew why. Get use to it, sometimes it felt like she was being smothered.

Her ribs hurt from the coughing.

She leaned forward to sip from the glass, "You can't prevent everything" She put her hand on the glass again to drink.

"Stuff is going to happen you are not the be all end all omnipotent I can everywhere prevent everything God." She was having a little trouble taking a breath, she winced at the pain.

"Stop, just stop Draco. You can't blame yourself for the thranta dying, life happens, things die, when it's our time it's our time." He was sorry, she half smiled. They were still on a learning curve when it came to figuring each other out. And life just got more complicated.

"I'm sorry I yelled back. But Draco think about this, do you really think I'm the type of person who keeps that kind of a secret from you, and that I did it intentionally like...I was...trying to hurt you?"

Every draw of a breath was followed by the small squeak of wheezing. Faith reached over and took his hand, she smiled maybe they were moving too fast. Was this such an issue for her, it wasn't a bad thing that he worried what was uncomfortable was him thinking he should be able to prevent it.

She was calming and her breathing beginning to even out the coughing seemed to have subsided.

"Lay by me" The bed was certainly big enough, "It comforts me to have you close" She smiled, it did.

And she was probably just dealing with her own fears right now, she really didn't see herself with anyone else.

Rianna stood in the doorway, just listening and watching. She would like to remind them that Faith had broken ribs, and had been exposed to the cold but for now whatever problems Faith had been having seemed to have subsided.

Draco smiled wearily at Faith, his eyes betraying how tired and how worried he had been about her, and now with the possibility of a baby on the way he felt like he was going to miss the important moments again, but with someone he loved, with a child or children they shared. "I know I'm not omnipotent, but I need to know you are safe. Whenever I'm separated from you I worry. I'm not saying you can't be free and independent, it's just that I worry."

He sighed deeply as she spoke again rubbing his eyes and reaching for her hand, hearing the subtle wheeze. She was hurting and he had felt this to be the opportune time to have this argument. "No I don't think that. I'm just tired and worried and upset, and I took it out on you. I'm sorry love." His smile returned as he held on to her, feeling the tenderness of her touch.

"I will worry over you and fuss over you, because I know I can't live without you. Now that I have tasted your love, a life without it is not living. But I also know you are strong and tough and independent," Draco paused for a moment looking into her eyes, "and filled with a fire I can only be in awe of. I will work on not fussing over your safety so much, but I still don't want you flying alone ner runi. For my sake if not your own." He knew it was a lot to ask of her, that he was asking her to give up some of her freedom and independence for his sake.

He grinned at her request and crawled into bed beside her, rubbing her belly, "Okay cyar'ika, let's focus on the good. That we are going to be parents and have a little ad'ika." His smile was genuine and full of love.

He looked up at the doorway seeing Rianna with a soft smile, "She's coughing and having trouble breathing." His voice was calm and level, bit he glanced down at Faith, a little ashamed of himself. "I'm sorry cyar'ika, I shouldn't have yelled at you while you were like this."
