Touching Life, Again. (Open Plantsurge Training)

Solan's hands drifted over the surface of the plant before him, touching the strands of its life and focusing on the life he felt in it. It was a emerald colored stem with a rather golden tinge to its petals, seven petals in total that overlapped eachother. He had spent most of the day tending to these plants while he waited for any whom wished to learn to come by. It was a slow process, both the waiting and the growing of these plants. They were not to be simply used and then never tended to again, these were suppose to last and so he had to be careful how fast he accelerated their growth.

He was in rather simple clothing today, a dark black cloak shrouding the trousers and shirt he had on underneath. His saber remained at his waist and his eyes were closed, hiding the crimson tint that came with his corruption. His veins showed a slight ebony color but nothing that was alarming in terms of how he looked when he actually fought. Yet even with the corruption he seemed peaceful, happy, like there was no reason for any of the corruption in the first place. As always strange as his dark chestnut colored hair sat on his head.

For a few moments he stopped and let his mind drift to how long he had been on the planet this time. He would need to head back to Kesh either tomorrow or the next day so that he could make sure everything was ok. He still had a planet to run and the fact the black rose had taken up residence made him worried if he was far from the planet for too long. "Hmm... maybe some pyro flowers too..." He looked at the plants now as his mind returned to what he was doing. He figured he would give someone a few more hours to show if anyone did. And if they didn't he would move on.

(Just go ahead and join in, and yes, i was lazy and just copied my old intro. Shush.)

"I must admit..."

Came the voice of a vaguely familiar blue-haired bounty hunter from the archway,

"...I find the King of Kesh lingering about the most beautiful of places. Hehe."

Garbed in black with her dark fuzzy trenchcoat all around, the lithe woman approached with a smile.

"Ah. But hello there Master Charr. How does the day find you, hm?"

She gave a low bow. One befitting royalty. Then rose back to her full hieght with a smirking smirk. For, the last time she and the King had spoken? It had been in a garden too. Filled with moonlight's dim wanderings.

Solan's eyes traveled from the flower to the source of the voice and for a moment he had to all but smile as he saw who it was. The woman's company was not unwelcome, infact if anything more than so. It was the fact of where they were that surprised him as he had never expected her to be one of the silvers. "Lady Roberts, a pleasure if ever there is one. And please, im sure i remember asking you to simply call me by my name the last time. None of that formal master or sir or any of that business."

He paused as he continued to smile and returned his focus onto that of the flower. "The day has been going perfectly, though i must say it is more than surprising to see you here. I had not realized that you were one of the Silvers that called this space their home."

Robert's approached the flower and spoke whilst observing,

"Voss shall be home for a time. A Rebellion plagues Denon you see. Dreadful business. Pennies on the dollar. Ugh. Disgusting really. I blame the Republic really..."

She looked puzzled as she noticed what he was doing.

"Solan Charr? Just what on earth are you up to in here anyway?"

Roberts had never before encountered magic of this nature before. Her time on Mother Tython was far to brief to learn anything but war.

As she said his full name, well to a point atleast, his voice broke the brief silence once more. "Just Solan, please. And i must say you became far more relaxed in your speech than many do after my request they not speak like i am of a higher status outside of Kesh." He drew his attention back to the seeds as his hand dug out a slightly smaller hole and gently pressed a few seeds into it. "What i am doing though, is simply letting the beauty of this place be further shown through the growth of a few small plants."

He withdrew the hand now, letting it push the earth around the hole back into it and smiling as he let water fall on the spot. It was slow in his movements as if each was calculated and as he placed a hand over what used to be a hole with seeds in it, his entire body froze. Drawing out slowly and out of sight at the moment was the first roots of the seed, reaching for the water as he supplied it with energy through the force. "Have you ever given life to a plant or person miss Roberts?"

Roberts was amazed at the King's skill. To heal with the Force was one thing. To grow with it was... Amazing. She'd thought that only the ancient Vong Shapers had this gift. Not mere mortals, like [member="Solan Charr"] .

She drew closer and peered in,

"Yes. I must apologize for my simple speech. But we Force Users are so used to being treated like royalty? Hehe. ...It's hard sometimes to forget that I myself lack the necessaries titles."

She seemed puzzled though,

"I have indeed used the Force to heal another's wound. Yet, I find the task overly complex. Like performing the surgery in your mind with slippery tools. I fear... I fear I no talent for such methods, I'm afraid."

Karen was a Battle Mage at heart. She conjurered up shields, absorbed lightning, and summoned explosive kinetics. Hardly the surgeon touch.

He smiled as he looked back down at the ground from her. Her words were exactly how he had felt about healing with the force long ago when the force still allowed him too. Now though, this was the farthest he could do with the corruption he had caused already to his form. "No need to apologize, there has been a system in place for millenia that have made it simply common place for a master of the force to be referred to as such. But if it helps, there is no need to see me as a master of the force, i am merely a user of it." He turned his gaze on her as his hand continued to supply the plant with energy.

"Repairing a wound is what ive come to understand as a first step yet still a far different practice than giving life. I have theorized a while back that the application of Plantsurge could be applied to a person in the same way the dark wielders of the force's gifts can steal life from someone. Imagine it as speeding the growth of one's cells rather than destroying them." He drew his hand up slightly as a small green speck started to rise from the dirt.

Karen listened and watched as [member="Solan Charr"] practiced his art. Still amazed that such a practice existed in our day and age. Though, it did seem that every day new holocrons were being uncovered. Some from as far back as a thousand years ago. Long before the Plague had ravages the worlds.

Still. Karen knew she had no talent with plants nor animals. Nor the time to study it.

"Well. Then perhaps I shall you leave you to it Solan. ...Hehe. I merely sensed your presence nearby and came to see the new you. Always good to catch up."

First impressions being what they are. Karen had meet Solan back when he was a much darker presence. Not evil or malevolent. But as sharp and black as a scythe. So it was always interesting to see what the King was up too these days. Hmm. ...Plants... Interesting.

She leaned back as if to take her leave.

[member="Karen Roberts"]

"Fully up to you, i would be more than happy to entertain your presence more if you so wished." He glanced at her for a moment and let his gaze remained for a few seconds before turning his gaze back on the plant. "I must say though, your arrival once more is very curious. Even if you simply sensed my presence and was curious about me. Though, if you are truly curious about this art i am sure i could attempt to explain it to yourself."

She smiled,

"Oh don't mind me. Just wanted to say hi."

Karen gathered up her things and gave him a nod,

"Now if you'll excuse me. ...Good luck with your training Solan. May the Force be with you."

And so the warrior woman took her leave.

[member="Karen Roberts"]

Solan watched the woman leave with a raised brow, surprised a bit at just how quickly the woman had left as she had arrived. It was strange to him but these people around here were all different from him and he knew that plenty well enough. Hell if he wasn't sitting with his knees pressed into the dirt he would probably try and learn more about the people he helped on occasion but first he would tend to the one thing he found peace in.

It was strange, he thought as his eyes drifted back to the flowers and other plants before him. For all that he was, a murderer, demon, and above all corrupted deeply by the darkside, even he could use the force to grow things like this before him and maybe that was why it brought him peace. It meant that he could still give life to those who need it and it meant he could possibly do it for a human being one of these days but it would take him a long time.

"Well, back to what i was doing." He smiled as his eyes cast down on the next plot of soil infront of him. Without a second more of hesitation he began his work once more, waiting for whomever else decided to learn something new or simply come to lend an ear to the crazy darksider who spent his time in a garden rather than a classroom or a lab doing what was expected of people like him.

It was a beautiful day outside. I came out here to relax, and maybe cool off some Dark Side energies. Sometimes, I just needed a walk. The life in the garden was so vibrant, I could feel it. It was something different than what I was used too. All the anger, it just... dissipated in the midst of all the life. Maybe there was another way... But there couldn't be. No.

I breathed in deeply, relaxing. All the smells, they were overwhelming. My hunter's nose could pick up even the most delicate scent of flower on the other side of the garden, if the wind was blowing in the right direction. It was a whole other sensation, an entertainment for a different sensory organ. I breathed deeply in again.

As I rounded a curve, I noticed a figure, [member="Solan Charr"] , kneeling off of the sidewalk, appearing to be digging a hole. I could only assume he had some form of plant life on the other side of him, because it was hard to imagine someone here wanting to deface a garden. I approached him quietly, thinking about introducing myself. The beings around here were rather kind, after all.

"A-hem. Uh..." I started out nervously. "Ex-excuse me, sir. I just wanted to inquire as to your identity and make your acquaintance"

[member="Thresh Sken"]

Solan's eyes halted as he sensed Sken's eyes falling on him. He waited for a few seconds to see what it was that the man wanted to say, and sure enough, he was not disappointed when he heard the voice of the man. Well what he assumed was a man considering he had a horrible time telling a difference between some species so he hoped that he was correct.

His words made him smile, it was the words which were hesitant yet still trying to hold respect that gave him the smile on his face. What ever create this one was, he was certain that it was probably a younger one considering the smallness of his (or her) voice. So to help out the creature that was behind him, his mind began to siphon off that nervousness while speaking to the creature.

"Hmm? Welcome. Please, take a seat if you wish to know. I am Solan."

I relaxed as soon as I heard the kind voice speak to me, non-threatening and inviting me to sit down. So I did, my short, shadowy figure taking a respectful posture as I sat.

"Greetings, Solan. How are you this... bright day?" I struggled to relate to the cheeriness that I felt in the garden based on my mood, but I managed it.

I observed the plants that [member="Solan Charr"] was preparing the ground to receive, a type of which I had never seen before. Then again, there were plenty of plants I had never seen before in this garden. But these... were unique, somehow different in a way. A golden golden lightly painted the leaves of these plants, which reflected the sunlight brilliantly.

I took the time now to observe my new acquaintance, whom I had only seen from the back before. A dark cloak seemingly symbolized a member of the Dark Side, like I, but he was at total peace like no Dark Sider I had ever seen. That would mean he was a Jedi, or at least a practitioner of the Light Side of the Force. There were no other visible markings to distinguish his alignment with the different sides of the Force, so I refrained from making a decision until I found out otherwise.

[member="Thresh Sken"]

Solan watched as the creature studied him, amused by the curiosity behind those eyes which looked over him. It was this that made him hold his smile with his eyes drawing back to the golden colored petals that he urged to spread out from the growing plant. It was simpler to inspire growth rather than forcing it without properties that made the growth natural, thus why he appreciated the feeling this garden gave off.

He could tell though that the creature was probably confused by him, most were. It would be clear that he was placed in the darkside, not a completely as he had been in the past, but he was still clearly on that end fo the spectrum and it took a great deal of effort to grow these plants without corrupting them. But he knew that the creature would want to know which he was and it caused his eyes to shift back to the creature and that kind smile to return.

"I am fine, and I apologize for not asking your name earlier but if you don't mind, would you tell me it?" His hands continued to work, as if a machine and pulling a seed from one of the pouches at his hip. It was with the same practiced fluidity and care that he continued his work while speaking to the creature. "You are one of the Silver's darker students, correct? It is good to see not only the Jedi elements are interested in the beauty of this garden."

I watched in awe as Solan grew a plant before my eyes. The same golden-touched ones I had seen beside him. From a sprout to one leaf, to multiple. It was like watching the entire plant's life unfold before my eyes. My mouth started to gape, I had never seen a Force Power like that before. But then Solan's voice brought my attention back to him.

If I could blush, I would have at that moment. In my hesitancy to meet [member="Solan Charr"] I had completely forgotten my own introduction.

"Thresh Sken. But please, call me just Thresh. I am indeed a practitioner of the Dark Side. I find relief in the garden from my anger. I wish there was some way I could achieve the power that the Dark Side offers me without all the anger and hate. The negative feelings." I was afraid I had opened up too much of my problems to my new acquaintance already. I did not want to burden him with my ponder-some, wishful thinking.

"What is your occupation here at the Silver Sanctum Coalition?" I had assumed a teacher, be it Dark or Light I knew not which. But if he had time enough to be out here for extended periods of time... Maybe a guardian of some sort? It would explain the strength of the Force I could feel flowing through him. It must be strong with him, the fact that I could feel the Force in him even with my limited senses.

[member="Thresh Sken"]

"Actually, im not a part of the Coalition at all. I just like to hang out here every so often, eat their food, and bum a bed off them in return for growing their garden every now and then. I don't think they mind so much... i mean, none of the masters have said something yet so i figured they didn't care if i simply drifted in and out whenever i was around this sector."

He smiled as he sat there and watched the man for a few seconds, curious about his wanting to use the darkside, but wishing that he didn't need the negative emotions.

"I have a question for you. How do you know what joy and what happiness are?" He ran his hand to his chin and leaned onto it as he turned his head towards the creature. Sapphire eyes staring into the dark furred being with a curiosity to them. The question was one that probably seemed confusing or easy depending on who you asked, but it remained important none the less.

I had to smile at [member="Solan Charr"] . It was pretty cool he could come here whenever he wanted and have access everywhere, just for growing a garden for them. And he could do it very quickly, it looked like.

My ears perked up at the mention of a question. Joy and happiness? That was a difficult question. Very difficult. I sat and thought about it for a while. I thought I knew where he was coming from. The Dark Side isn't the only way for some. If I had some positive, that could be the source of my Force Abilities. But he could be going after another point.

"Well... I think so. Yes. I have a family. I enjoy the company of friends. They bring me happiness" I finally said.

[member="Thresh Sken"]

"Those bring you happiness as you said, but how do you know that it is happiness. How do you know what happiness and joy feels like?"

What he asked was a simple question with a difficult answer, that in truth could have several different meanings to it and none of them could be true or all of them could be. It was a pain for anyone no doubt to think about the question and even Solan had taken a while to understand the same question he had been asked by the one who told him the difference and why the negative emotions that were needed for the darkside were so important.

He was curious if this being understood why those negative emotions were important, and that embracing their existence did not make someone crazy. Sure no one felt good when they were angry or sad, hurt or in pain. Solan would wish that on no one and even those of the psychotic variety didn't deserve such, but at the same time they needed them.

He was curious if Thresh would understand the question.

I sat for an even longer time pondering the question as [member="Solan Charr"] sat beside me. Cross-legged and deep in thought, I patiently reasoned in my head. How do I know what they feel like? I've felt them before... Just like I've felt anger. I wonder... was that what he meant? I know what the good feelings feel like only because I have experienced the bad ones? That I can't have one without the other? I spent even more time trying to phrase my answer.

"I know what they feel like... because I've felt what the opposite emotions feel like..." I said very slowly. "Is that what you mean?" I lifted my head and looked curiously at Solan, wanting to hear what he had to say. This was one of the more difficult, thoughtful questions I had been asked to answer. If I could answer it. But I enjoyed a challenge like the one he has given me, because the knowledge to be had from it was no doubt useful. I just had to figure it out first.
