It was a busy morning.

There were several instruction classes going on, on top of several of the “regular” classes. There was also a request by a neighboring planet (we won’t say who) sent out a request for not only aid, but a staging area for several of the relief ships coming in. The Temple accepted this under conditions, which took the attention of many of the pilots and Starport crew. Yeah, it was a busy morning, almost busy enough for Vanagor to forget the Jedi coming in to see the facilities…

… almost…

Between his normal morning meetings, Vanagor was teaching various classes that his otherwise available instructors were involved in. None of this bothered the big man at all, it just came with the territory.

Alright everyone, we’re going to have this class out here in the landing bay.

There was confusion, even concern from some of those involved. “Won’t we be in the way of the events going on?” The Big man took the question in stride as it was a natural one, he wouldn’t want to be in the way or a burden either, especially on a day like today.

Perhaps a bit, but this will also be a good test of your concentration, a strong aspect to that which is a Jedi is being able to focus even in the most difficult situations. You need to have a calm, focused mind in chaos. I’m not saying that our life is “Chaos”...

Those gathered either smirked, chuckled or outright laughed. ... but it is better to “have it and not need it… than need it and not have it… He could sense his guest nearby. Let’s take a break…. I’ll contact you when it is time to meet again.

Valery approached the landing bay with a soft smile playing on her lips, watching Caltin Vanagor lead his class through their exercises. Even in the midst of all the hustle and activity, he had managed to maintain the essence of Jedi training — focus amid chaos. She could feel the energy of the busy morning and admired how seamlessly he adapted to the surroundings.

As she got closer, Valery inclined her head respectfully, her fiery gaze finding his. "Master Vanagor," she greeted warmly, her voice calm. "Quite the setting for a class. You've managed to turn a busy day into an opportunity for growth. I like that." She paused, glancing briefly at the students before her attention returned to him.

A gentle smile resting on her lips.

"I hope I'm not interrupting? I was looking forward to seeing your methods in action." Her tone was friendly, as always, but held a deeper curiosity about how the big man handled training under such demanding circumstances.

She was excited and ready for the day ahead.

There she is.

Right on schedule.

She was definitely interested from the looks of how she was responding to everything, and he could appreciate it. She, like he, was one who appreciated the “old ways” in showing respect to one’s station publicly, and he offered a short, but respectful bow. He was actually glad to “get the word out” and while this place was meant to be somewhat of a secret, it was still important for those in the know, to know about it. He hoped that people would understand the value of this place and respect it. He was determined to make sure that its existence was not forgotten and that future generations would be able to enjoy it as well.

Master Noble, welcome! Glad you’re here. Then he spoke to her through the Force.

~”Thank you for the “old ways” of public addressing in regards to one station, but you of all people here have earned the right to call me “Caltin.”~

Caltin knew that this probably went without saying, but it was always good to make sure. After all, he met her quite a while ago. It was during the Bryn’adul war with the Silver Jedi and Ala Quin Ala Quin had been hospitalized at the Jakku Enclave. He remembered her strength and courage, and how she had stood up to the enemy. She was also the first Jedi he had ever met outside of the Silvers, and he had been impressed by her commitment to justice and her faith in the ancient ways of the Force. She was a leader, and he had nothing but respect for her.

Gesturing for her to walk with him throughout the landing bay/Starport he listened to her for a moment. Not at all, this was meant to be this busy all the time. We do “hide in plain sight” but that is the beauty of it. “More than meets the eye” you might say.

She liked what he was doing from what she had seen so far, good thing he had another class to get to soon.Thank you for the kind words. While we do not turn away anyone who wishes to learn, the purpose for this place is more “advanced” in that we are training the more experienced Padawans, as well as new Knights in the path they wish to follow. We teach Seers, Shadows, Aces, Investigators, Weapons Masters…

Slowly they made their way quietly into the gathering area. In fact, if you wish to watch, or even participate… There is a Weapons Master Class about to start. It was up to her, but the class was gathering not that far away. Various brand new Knights from throughout the galaxy were coming in, a mixture of eagerness and nerves.

Valery returned Caltin's respectful bow, her warm smile remaining as she heard his message through the Force. His acknowledgment of the old ways made her chuckle inwardly, but she appreciated the offer for familiarity.

"Caltin it is, then," she replied, the connection carrying her amusement.

Walking beside him, Valery listened intently, nodding at his words about the purpose of the facility. "I've always believed that advanced training is crucial, especially for those on the cusp of knighthood or already taking on more specialized roles. It's good to see this kind of focused instruction."

When he mentioned the Weapons Master class, her interest was piqued further, and her eyes gleamed with enthusiasm. "I'd love to watch," she said, though a mischievous grin followed as she added, "Perhaps I'll participate another time." She did enjoy participating in the practical classes.

Something that would never change.

Something he said amused her. Inwardly he wondered what, but ultimately it was just good to walk and talk with no real place to have to get to right away. Sure, there was a class that had to be taught in a few minutes, but he could get away with being late. Besides, someone would probably come take over if he wasn’t there. That was the hope anyway.

They were not far from the sparring arena. This is where one class was already going on, it was the one he was originally going to teach, it looked like Master Arlum had set up several NAHK training droids to teach some unarmed skills. That was a good thing as he nodded to him. They made way over to the Exoctic Weapons class who were working with Lightsaber Pikes, Flails,
Quarterstaffs, San-Ni staffs, and Long-Handle LIghtsabers, training models of course as this was the very first of the series. Connel was in the class, so he was glad to not be teaching it. He knew that Connel would succeed and there would be no question of fairness, but Caltin did not want the younger Vanagor to feel like he did not earn this.

Which is what he sometimes felt like… nepotism is a rough thing, even when it doesn’t occur.

Thank you for the kind words about the facility. This is an idea that I have had in my head ever since I was originally Knighted during the Clone Wars. I remember I originally wanted to follow the path of an “Investigator” but barely a month in I realized that I was not a good fit. I got lucky and found my path, I just want others to have the resource, you know? There were a few who “noticed” that the two of them were there watching, so he just held out a reassuring hand.

Don’t worry… we’re not here to judge you… He chuckled. I’ll do that when you break for a meal. The humor attempt brought a laugh from a few and lightened the mood of the room, which is what he wanted. The class started and went on as normal from that point with Jedi following the instructor’s lead.

I would have brought this up for an idea to be implemented in the Temple on Coruscant, but with all of the history there, I wasn’t sure that it would be a good idea. He wondered aloud. It’s amazing to think about, but this venture… it seems to have revitalized me again.
