Tournament of Swords (Zoey Marix Vs. Valara Tiall)

Taking a grip of the helmet I had, I place it over my head and pulled on the straps to keep the helm attached to my head. With the Zealot War Armor that I wore. I smiled as the Echani styled personal shield housed in my left arm activated to show off a red translucent shield. I deactivated it as I drew my beskad and walked out of the shadows that hid me on one side of the arena. Smiling under my helm, I swung my beskad around as the crowd around us in the almost dirt covered arena cheered. I spun around and raised both of my arms up as I spun in a circle.

I was the Blade of Kalee. I stopped myself, and knelt down onto one knee as my opponent would be coming out herself. While I waited I prayed out loud to my God and protector. "In the name of my God and savior, May my sword stay true, my shield be strong and my will be unbreakable. I pray for your guidance and fortitude to keep me in this fight, and to claim the title of Swordmaster. Amen."

Valara examined the rack of swords to borrow, and picked up an average length and average weight blade, testing it. It would do well enough. She strode out into the arena, waiting patiently. Might as well get this over with and move on. She had no armor. No special gear. She was a Naval officer, not a duelist. The only thing she had going for her was coming from a planet with higher gravity. She had seen [member="Zoey Marix"] pulling on the crowd, and wasn't overly impressed. Their approval of her was irrelevant.

"Shall we begin then?"

Even as I still kneel down, I picked up my sword and let the tip slide into the dirt as she spoke, asking if we should get started. Smiling, I stood up, and started walking towards her. I flicked the sword towards her, swinging towards her left with the beskad, it was a hefty sword. Allowing me to bash through blocks with the right amount of strength. I would leave my shield off as I had no need for it as of this moment, nor do I want to reveal what I have to her. ANd my armor by itself could probably take the hits from a standard sword.

Valara brought her sword up to block he blow coming in from her left, but then stepped backwards to let it pass in front of her, continue to lift her sword until it was above her head. Then she stepped forward and brought it in a downwards stroke towards her oppoenent's head. She was ready to pull her blow if necessary to prevent any injury, so she wasn't using the full advantage the lower gravity gave her.

(sorry the tag is not working. it's because you have a space after your sir name.)

With the attack that I gave to her, she blocked with with some ease, but as I was wearing armor, I brought my left hand up and allowed the blade to slam into the gauntlet on my left arm. Instead of attacking with the sword, I brought up my right leg and sent her a spartan kick to her stomach. Seeing as how I was not rocked back by the blow she sent me, It was probable that she was just testing me. And so my kick might not actually hit. Either way, it would show her that I was not going to be easily played with.

Valara grunted as the blade hit her opponent on the arm. That was one point to her then. None for her opponent. Five more to go. Then the kick came her way and she dove backwards out of reach, nearly tripping over her feet, but she caught herself before she fell. That was unexpected. This was a test of bladework, not an actual brawl. Unless it was simply pure instinct, which was possible. She resumed her defensive posutre and waited.

The attack I sent to her would be forcing her to be on her toes on what I was to do next. Smiling as I rushed forwards as she was stumbling back, she regained herself as I brought down my sword with a wide overhead slash meant to batter her down. Coming from the blade inside and outside I kept the wide arcing slashes coming then as I came around using both hands to cleave with one more slash downwards before stabbing forwards in an attempt to keep her back just enough so she could not get within the reach of my blade.
