Private Tracking Kids in the Cold

The board computer of The Reprimand released a soft warning sound as its long journey through hyperspace finally came to an end. The familiar blue light of hyperspace faded, revealing the giant white orb that was Scipio. Reaching for the control panel on his right, the Mandalorian clad in white armor flicked the three switches which disabled the autopilot. "We're arrived." He called out to the other Mandalorian who accompanied him on this job. "Now I get why they described this job as a cold case..." The Mandalorian mumbled, as the spacecraft approached the planet.

Based on the description given, this was going to be an easy job. Get to the abducted brat, kidnap him back and return him to his parents. Except... something wasn't right. If the job was this easy, why such a high reward? And more importantly, why had no other bounty hunter tried to get the kid yet? The tracking fob displayed a clear signal, and there were no really dangerous gangs or factions involved. At least not that he was aware of.

Skeptical and thorough as he was, the white Mandalorian had enlisted the help of one of his 'acquaintances', if that's what he could call her. Rhion didn't really know anything about her, except her name: Musana. Sure had a nice ring to it.

Normally, he wouldn't have asked a colleague for assistance. But even with the reward split in two, he would obtain enough credits to easily cover for his expenses. Although he had to admit, he didn't like her presence aboard his ship. He preferred his solitude, and having a woman in his personal space made him a little... tense. Nervous, even. Testimony to his nervosity, was the fact that he hadn't taken of his helmet in her presence yet. Not even once, although he was pretty sure that she had seen his face before.

Checking the scanners once more, Rhion could safely conclude that no hostile crafts were near. Despite the planet having been a stronghold of the Banking Clan for such a long time, its defenses were quite laughable. They hadn't received a single request for identification, but perhaps that was part of the anonymity provided by the banking clan. He didn't complain though. Not having to deal with authorities for once was refreshing, especially in Imperial space.

Gently, The Reprimand touched down on the compressed snow and ice of Scipio. Planets like these had treacherous soil. It was hard to judge, even with the ship's scanners, if the layers of snow and ice would hold something as heavy as a spacecraft. When everything seemed stable, the white Mandalorian could finally released a breath of relief.

"Are you ready? Whoever these kidnappers are, they sure are amateurs. Their base is only a few miles away, and their scanners haven't noticed us yet."

On a boring hypersapce drive it was natural for the mind to wander and look for interesting problems to entertain itself with. For Revora today was no exception. In this case she was asking herself a question: If they were being paid to rescue someone's kid from a ransom attempt... wasn't that technically also a ransom? The kid still missing and the payment promised was done under the good faith that the Family was going to get their little feth back. This in a way was just a ransom with extra steps and some bureaucratic nonsense thanks to this being a guild job.

The thought experiment was proving to be just what she needed as she found that her present company a lone Mandalorian named Rhion was proving to be rather quiet, or maybe tense was a better word. She first met him in what was appropriately for Mandalorians a bar fight, though thankfully they weren't the ones throwing punches at eachother, unless that correlian whiskey left a few blanks in her memory. Still given an opportunity to work with Mandalorian was something she had to jump on.

She was used to traveling around with strangers for jobs and having to even hitch rides on ships other then her own too but it was the first time in a long time that she done so with another Mandalorian. Truth be told it wasn't easy and a part of her was missing working with smugglers. Those guys were a simple bunch, keep them fed and well lubricated with alcohol and they were happy. Rhion was proving to be a more complex, though that seemed to be a given for most Mandalorians. Hopefully a few blaster fights would relax the guy up. She didn't bite after all, despite what the teeth may imply.

With the planet Scipio coming into view as the pair began to enter Atmo Revy's mind began to shift as she now got serious. The petite would nod in response to Rhion's statement before getting up from her copilot's seat and instead took another seat in the cockpit with a brightly lit table as she brought out a small weapon's case. Bringing it on to the table she opened it up and began to go through the motions of taking the loose amalgamation of blaster parts and assembling them into a weapon. Something she done so many times that she found it took little thought or concentration, quickly proven when she caught onto Rhion's mumbling.

"Nothing like a bit of frostbite to build character." She replied as she extended the telescoping barrel and set to assemble the receiver. As Rhion was doing his checks she was making sure her rifle was in peak condition for their job, doing a quick visual inspection, some light cleaning and a few sprinklings of oil here and there. By the time they were getting ready to land Revora would find herself staring at a fully assembled and zeroed A180 sniper.

She awaited for the ship to touch down on soil and after a few unsettling noises from the ground beneath, it still held hopefully it'd stay that way. She slung the rifle around her back and collected her pistol and grenades. She would stand up and wait by the divide between the cockpit and the rest of the ship. Hearing Rhion exhale from the pucker factor 5 landing, and then ask her if she was ready she would quickly reply.

"I'm ready to go, though I wouldn't be so quick to call these guys amateurs. They could have their scanners set to low power to avoid attracting the Sith, Scipio is a pretty bold place set up shop."
