- Tractor Beam Harpoon: Upon locking itself on the hull of a ship it will manipulate the gravitational forces to pull the ship. It serves as a beacon that gives the tractor beam from the attacking ship the ability to lock on to it simplifying the process of catching a ship by tractor beam making escaping chances minimal bar for the covert shroud maneuver.
- Hyperspace beacon: Acts as a normal beacon too. Can track up to four star systems away before the transmitter won't be able to catch it.
- Minimal Evasion: Auto-locking a ship due to the tractor beam beacon makes escaping chances minimal. Perfect for piracy.
- Tracker: It is also a hyperspace beacon capable of transmitting the location of the ship it has pierced four star systems away
- Field Disruptor: Capable of piercing shields.
- The bigger the fish, the more hooks you need: A draw back is that the bigger the ship is the more KIRKAs you need to actually have some sort of stable grasp over the vessel.
- Short range: Unlike standard tractor beam ranges, you will need to be far more closer to the vessel to affect it.
KIRKA is a tool that found itself in the arsenal of pirates across the galaxy rather than its initial target - asteroid miners. That, of course, did not stop Meridian from continuing its production. Money talks. As an alternative method of utilizing the tractor beam technology, pirates found excellent use of KIRKA in their vessel hunting endeavors.
Limiting a caught vessel's chances of escape to a minimum and simplifying extremely the tractor beam controller's job to a single button is mainly what these weapon's qualities are. While it is quite useful, KIRKA does not come without its drawbacks such as its much shorter ranger and its struggle against bigger ships.
