Trade Federation Interest Check

Before I get really in depth with my character profile, I was wondering if there was any interest in having the Trade Federation around. Though I'm not entirely sure if it is on the site already or not, since the search brought up a couple of missing pages and small mention of it in other posts (like in planet and other faction write ups) that were often more of a mention of it rather than anything solid.

I think I'll be staying out of the Tion Cluster. Maybe this could be a bit of a rivalry between the two, nothing wrong with a bit of competition. I was thinking though of keeping more to the roots of the Trade Federation, just not entirely Nemoidian.

Hey there :) The Tion Hegemony is a minor faction made up of people who love playing the corporation game; literally all of the board's most powerful companies are part of it, and plenty of people write employees of those companies at every level. Naturally, there's a super-secret group of Darksiders behind it, but they're all Darksiders who believe in discretion and long-term plans, and you definitely don't have to be a Darksider or even a Force-user to get involved in Tion. You just have to enjoy the military-industrial complex, invention, and doing business with everyone. We're basically the Trade Federation, plus a spine. Here's a few links if you're interested.

The faction.

Rent facilities on our trade nexus.

The Marketplace, where we do some (but not nearly all) of our business.

A very slightly outdated list of all the corporations that are involved in the Tion Hegemony.

If you are a negotiator, you're very good at it. Maybe I could learn from you B)

Competition is the best way to get known. And I hate nemoidians for three things. Greed, lack of combat, and how they talk the talk but don't walk the walk.

I was thinking of something with less of a "Palpatine/Sith/Darksiders" pulling the strings behind the curtain kind of feel to it. More in line of what the original Trade Federation was, or just in general a multi-planet Trade Federation with each world serving as a member world.

So basically a trade federation without having a side?

The problem with a Corporate entity taking a side is that you limit yourself to usually only selling to that side, least you be branded as a traitor. So more or less, a Trade Federation without having a side. After all, a credit from the Empire is just as welcomed as a credit from the Republic.

If enough time is given, and enough growth recorded, you will always have the option to strong arm a faction into giving you free passes, if you are in a position where you can control their trade routes and supply lines by sheer exclusivity contracts.

And now you got me interested in the whole merchant archetype.

Well, I'm working on my character now. Though now I'm also debating on if I should attempt the faction or do a company write up. I'm just not sure which would be the better move in terms of a future for the character on the site.

Company = You are known for goods
Faction = You make enemies and allies

You can do a company and then later expand it into a faction, or join Merrils one if that strikes your fancy, once you have a proper presence on the market and some people lining your pockets.

I think I'll start off small and make it a company first then go into a faction later should it have enough pull to it. I took a look at Merrill's and I don't think it's really for me (mainly because of the puppeteer behind the shadows feel).

I recently started up a corporation on Sorrus, Laravan Corporation, which would probably benefit from joining this sort of group. The only issue is that I care less about the company than I do about my character's eventual goals, so while I'd love to be a part of it, it would only last as long as my interest in it was beneficial to the plans I have.
