Trade Federation Question

I was thinking of posting a write up for a company and naming it the Praesitlyn Trade Federation.

I was going to model it after the Trade Federation that was Imperialized in 19 BBY and later dismantled along with the Imperial Senate in 0 BBY. My question is, would I have to submit it as being a Canon Faction due to the logo image and name, or would it get a pass from being marked canon because the Trade Federation was no longer a company as of 0 BBY?

Are you trying to create a faction or a company?

Both serve different things and have different requirements.

The name doesn't matter, as all companies start at max tier 2, which means localized to a small area like a planet or two. It doesn't mean they own the planets, just that they are headquartered there.

After looking at the original interest check and reading some of those replies, I felt it best if I started off small by making a company first. I just didn't know if I would have to label it as canon due to the name or not.

Trade federation suggests more than one planet under said company. It would be best if you simply replace federation with company, as a company cannot own a planet. Only major factions can. Some through rp, however, may end up influencing a planet's daily goings-- like Danger on Tatooine with Arceneau trade. She began as a small company and is now one of three Tier 6's on the board.

Now, you can use the canon name, but it doesn't mean that the resources of the canon faction belong to you now. You'll have to start at the bottom and work your way up.
