Training in the Darkside: Force Shock

On the Azalus, her and Krest's flagship, Ksara had gotten from her bunk. She was bored. What was a good way to pass the time? Learn something. She skulked over to see what [member="Darth Ferus"] was up to. Her eyes darted left and right around the corridors of the flagship as she made her way. "Master, I desire to learn something new. Will you teach me the ways of Force Lightning?"

Her voice was hushed, seeing as how much of a brat she's been to him ever since they met. He would have every right to deny her the progress to move up to the status of Sith Knight. With as lenient as he is though, she was a little less cautious asking, feeling like he would approve of her becoming stronger.

There was always two things the Zabrak did when bored on his ship. The first, building. Specifically, weapons. He absolutely loved to tinker with weapons, especially now that he owned a company for it. As the owner, he had to come up with new items and blueprints as often as he could. But, he wasn't doing this. Instead, he was doing his second favorite pastime.

Cooking. With his passtime as a nomad, he picked up some rather unique recipes from the worlds he traveled to. Fittingly enough, he chose to take these recipes and make them his own. Currently, he was working on a rather unique pastry. Layers of butter needed to be folded into the dough, giving it a rise it wouldn't get otherwise. A out midway through this, he would hear his apprentice, and her request. Blinking slowly, he would look over his shoulder and shout out a single word.

"Nope." This was for two reasons. One, she couldn't use it yet. Shock, yeah. Lightning, no. Second, she would have to be zapped for it. Something he didn't want to do.

Unless she pressured him of course.

"Come. On." She got a little snippy. "Isn't it your job as my master to teach me powers and help me hone them? I am ready for this challenge. Can't you see I am bored out of my mind. I can only check the ship functionality so many times before I want to blow it into space dust." It was obvious how badly she wanted to learn. If she didn't get helped. She would do one of the things he hated, touching his weapons, or she would dump flour on him to annoy him.

It was bad enough that she had been checking ship functionality twice a day, if not three times a day, and dismantling and recreating her hilts non-stop to build her focus of her core abilities, but for her to be stuck doing only that for all the time they haven't done anything but float in space? Her eyes twitched slightly, her vision was a lot worse that what it was when she met him, and she may have to learn as a Miraluka would.

"Lightning is beyond your current grasp, and shock will involve you.. Well. Being shocked. If you want to learn it, I have to zap you with lightning for a bit." His voice was surprisingly calm as he explained the simple process. Now with the folding of his dough done, he moved to place it within the small fridge. Shortly after, he would turn his gaze back to her form.

"So, do you want to be shocked?"

"I will do what it takes master. One cannot expect to learn anything without expecting it to be completely painless. I am ready." She said in response as she made her way to the training room. She would finally learn what it's like to be a lightning rod, though she had a strong idea that it wasn't going to be pretty either. She would have to stop herself from using what knowledge of Force Absorb she had retained over the years of being defunct.

A sigh would escape his lips as he watched K'sara for another moment or two. She was determined at least, and there was no way for Ferus to deny that. "Fiinnnee.." It wouldn't take him long to follow the girl, and with both hands behind his head he'd look about his training room. "Last chance not to get zapped. It's really not a fun thing to have to deal with you know." Lightning would already begin to form around the fingers of the master, and a frown would be seen on his face. He wasn't going to enjoy this.

"I'm not against you hurting me for this. I can see your displeasure with the thought of putting me through that much pain. I'm here to say, it's okay." She said with a nod of her head. Her hood was pulled back to reveal her short, red hair and her light indigo lekku. "I'm ready." She said.

With that she took stance and readied herself as best as she could. She closed her eyes, not that them being open were much use anyway. She had really bad eyesight, so all of her guidance had been through the Force and feeling her surrounding's air flow.

Another sigh would escape his lips as he brought up his hands, and without anymore hesitation he would unleash a torrent of electricity. It wouldn't be a small shock, no that wouldn't be enough, but a stream of the lightning. It was not enough to kill, far from that, but the pain would be more intense than anything she could of experienced before, short of being zapped of course. Shortly after, he would cut off the stream by closing his fists, a frown carved into his face. Ferus did not like this.

Upon first contact, her teeth pressed firmly together with her bottom lip in between. Her body started to convulse from the electrical current that was coursing through her. "Gaaaaaaah!!!" She screamed bloody murder from the pain. When the lightning ceased, she was barely able to stand, her flesh smoked a bit, and her body twitched slightly. She could sense Krest's displeasure. Unfortunately, she wanted this, and it would be well rewarding torture. "I'm... Okay... You'll be... Proud of me... When I learn this."

With a grimace on his face he would nod. After being electrocuted, it became almost easy to learn how to use the skill itself. And truthfully, he didn't know any other way to teach it. Pulling free his Sith 'Gauntlet', he would speak again as he attached the alchemized bracer around his hand. "Lightning is one of the darkest skills you can use. There are abilities that drain life from others, some that can crush peoples bodies, but lightning started from the dark, and it is your negative emotions that fuel it. I want you to channel your hatred into your fingertips and let it flow out to shock me. Don't worry, this gauntlet will attract the lightning and keep me safe, but don't push yourself. A single jolt will be enough." Holding the gauntleted hand out, he would open it palm to her. The dark side emanating from the glove would be immense, almost chocking to those not of the dark.

"Also, keep in mind this will only pause a foe, not freeze them in place or kill them. It will buy you a second, maybe two, to do something else."

She nodded and started to focus on the death of Master Shakarna. Static started to dance over her fingertips as the memory played over and over and over in her head until her head snapped at the figure of Master Krest and her hands shot forward, sending a fairly large, uncontrolled blast of electricity at him. She would then remember his words and stop, though the blast took up a good portion of her force powers. She would only be able to channel it for a short amount of time at that interval. "I got it, master. I just need to focus on my aim, or maybe just use a less painful memory..."

The lightning itself would crack around the red mans form for a moment. Then, it would seem to surge right into the gauntlet on his hand. A sigh would escape his lips as he looked over the metal hand peice. "There is a way to make your lightning more effective, but how to do it through the force I will not show you yet. But with an item, well. That I can show you." Turning his hand outwards, he would literally slap a training dummy. Upon contact, the lightning stored within his gauntlet would tear outwards and into the dummy, stronger than the blast she had just made. "Sith Swords can store and empower lightning. But you have to hit the person. Understand?"

She shuddered slightly as lightning tore through. "That's incredible." She would say in awe, not remembering anything about Sith weaponry. "You see new things everyday." She smiles and sits herself in a meditative state, holding her special built lightsaber. Inside of it, there was a meditation crystal. It helped her relax and focus on a task at hand, especially in Force related tasks. "Would you be able to make something of the sort for me?"

"I've made many people these sort of blades K'sara, but I shall make something new for you. But first, you have to do something. Another of my apprentices by the name of Vi'kas. You and him will fight, and the winner will be my only apprentice. I would not fail if I were you. " His tone was rather grim, and the grimace on his face would only add to that effect. But there was something more he was hiding. Something he would not tell her until he felt like it.

"If you can give me any hint on his angle, it would be appreciated." She stated, sounding as if she were sure the other had asked of her angle as well. She didn't want to be too out of the loop on this. All she knew, was it was bigger than what he was trying to make it sound. "You make it sound like death is the outcome." Her eyes seemed to shift a bit as she let out a deep sigh. "I know, that's not the point. Don't worry, have I ever been known as a failure. Aside from your cybernetics, I'm practically a female you with an added bonus, piloting skills. I won't fail you."

"Female or male doesn't matter to me. And no, no hints. You get his name, if you choose to research him on your own time, feel free. Otherwise, you will see when you face him." Turning his back on the girl, he would move to leave the room. "Keep practicing what I showed you, you're gonna need it." Having purposely avoided the topic of death, he hoped to put her on edge. It was only when people were afraid that he could see their true potential after all. When their life was on the line, they would pull out all the stops. Now, leaving her be, he would go back to his dough. He had some triangles to cut.

After several hours of meditating, she was replenished and gave it a few more tries, each time she would get closer to hitting her target with less effort. It was a fight she was preparing for, so she decided to try and incorporate what Krest had shown her with the gauntlet. Static danced over her fingertips, this time seeming like a solid current between them. She ran at a dummy, and struck her hand at its chest, allowing a minor discharge that would rip into the dummy's structure. "Give me a few more of these to play with and I should be able to work with it if I have to. Nothing wrong with turning a ranged power into a melee power, after all. It shows versitility."
