Training on Duxun

As the Soasi"s Heart dropped out of hyperspace Thror looked out at his home, he hadn't been home in a while. he looke to hi left as to see Kerrick and a young mando named Taru he had picked up to train with Kerrick. It would be good for him to start making contacts with other mandos especially one that are his age.

"Strap in boys we are beginning our descent."

Thror took the ship down into the atmosphere. The Heart touched down on the ground just out side the homestead. The boarding lowerd and the group walked to the house.Thror took of his helmet and brethed in the rich smells of the jungle. They arrived at the front door he punched in the access code and walking in. "Just a minute bows let me get the training equipment and then we can begin."

Thror when to the small room that hi father called the armory and took out some training pads and a couple of dull beskads made out of durasteel, while the wouldn't kill with the pads on they would still hurt. "Put these on and we will begin."

Taru had been given permission by his adopted mother, Yasha, to be allowed to go who knows where to train. The only problem was that Taru would have gone anyways, he was at that age and nearly at his Verd'goten. The only thing which he wasn't allowed to bring was any armor or weaponry as they would all be supplied by Thror.

Sitting beside Kerrick was ok, they talked a little about themselves, explaining who they were and how Taru was a Cadera even though he wasn't human. (Adoption) But when the doors opened and Taru got to see the house and hear the sounds of the jungle, he really smiled. This was going to be great! Taru loved warm climates, and did enjoy training, so there was absolutely nothing which could go wrong today. When Thror pulled out some training pads and the durasteel swords, Taru went without the training pad and took the sword, and then stood up, got into a fighting stance with his sword at a 45º angle not to close to his body, and said "Ni cuyir tsikador, rala mhi narir ibic. (I'm ready, let's do this.)"

Kerick was sitting beside Taru, Seeing someone other than human was very interesting. Taru explained that he was a Cadera. He was adopted just like me Kerrick thought. The doors opened and Kerric was in awe, The smell and sounds of the jungle were intriguing. "So this is where buir(father) grew up he" quietly said.

Thror had ben teaching him Mandoa, He said that every mando must now to speak it. Thror came out with pads and some durasteel swords. Thror had given him some instruction on how to use one. He also had told Kerrick about the felling of ani akaan ( total war) . Kerrick Put on the equipment and tried to get in the mindset that nothing would stop him for beating his opponent. He watched Taru get ready and hold his sword up and Kerric new the boy had more practice than he had, but that would not Concern him. He would try his hardest and hope fully that would be enough. He hear Taru say something in mandoa but Didnt unerstand it but for the boy's posture Kerric knew it was time to fight. Kerric held up his sword and said "lets do this."

Kerrick got into what he had hoped was a fighting stance and got ready.

Having gone without the training pad was both a good and bad idea. If he got hit it would hurt more, but at the same time he was more agile. When Kerrick said "lets do this", Taru let out a snarl and leaped at him with his training beskad arcing overhead. He swung the beskad with ease, for he was strong. (strong enough to grab a 100lb dumbbell on Dromund Kaas at the waterpark without stopping his run). Swinging it with all of his might, he had brought his other hand up to change his grip midswing from a one handed grip to two hands. His goal was to force Kerrick either to move out of the way or to try to block the blow.

His eyes burned with passion for the fight, yet his face let out no emotion other than anger, when in truth it was all a facade. Taru wasn't angry, kerrick wouldn't have been given a chance to get into a stance if he had been. No, he was serious about this fight, because as with all fight, the potential of death was always there. Traumatic blow to the head, the safety didn't work on the blaster, the stun feature backfired, the explosives were poorly set, whatever. There was always a chance, and Taru wanted to minimize tis chances for himself.

Kerrick looked at Taru's face an saw it was void of emotion. Except for his eyes which didn't hold malice or hatred just a passion for the fight. He had planned everyone of his move from start to finish and was going to try to finish. Kerrick saw Taru's swing and knew he couldn't block it. So he jumped to the side, Thror's words echoing in his head, " Since you don't know how to use this properly swing it like you are swinging a hammer that cuts."

Kerrick let out a loud yell, and swung his sword parallel to the ground aiming for Taru's midsection. He didn't want to hurt him to bad so he didn't swing with all his might, but still swung quite hard. Kerrick wasn't used to the weight of the sword he knew he would have to finish the sparring bout as soon as he could or he would wear out quickly. Be it him or Taru who won wouldn't matter, Kerrick would enjoy the fight either way.

Watching Kerrick jump away from his swing caused Taru to be delighted as he knew that he had forced a retreat of his opponent's offense, but he still needed to defend himself. With what looked like a full swing, Kerrick had swung his sword at Taru. Taru brought the sword up perpendicular to the floor with very little time remaining to steel himself for the blow, and he skidded slightly to the left as the jarring blow wobbled its way through the sword and "into" him. This was fun.

Taking two steps back, to prepare his next move, Taru lunged forwards, slightly swinging his sword as it stabbed forwards. This slight swing could be used to counterattack a block or sidestep as it would adjust the velocity of the blade into the correct direction if pushed correctly. This was done in complete silence from Taru, his eyes watching his opponents as his feet moved to keep him balanced. Before the fight, he had observed the general flatness of the training floor, and he was using it to his advantage by not needing to watch where he stepped...

(OOC: sorry for the late post, I went on LOA and forgot about replying to most of my threads. Hope we can continue this thread.)

The strike connected with his proponents sword. Taru blocked the strike with ease, Kertrick saw Taru's blade swing slightly and stab forward. He knew he couldn't stop the strike so he let the blade hit him and used the force of the strike to move him back. The blow caught him in the shoulder Kerrick eyed his opponent and saw amusement in his eyes. This made Kerrick mad, he felt like the young mando was making fun of him with him. Kerrick, not having been in many fights, quickly jumped towards Taru with an over head swing.

Kerrick knew his swing would either be blocked or dogged. If it was the latter he would be off balance and would probably lose the fight. He was getting tired already, the fight hadn't gone on that long maybe half a minute. He wasnt in really good shape. Kerrick resigned him self to fate and hoped his strike would connect.

(OOC: its all good bud was away myself)

It hit! Luckily the swords they used were blunt so it probably felt like a push, but either way, it worked.

While Taru was silently appraising what else he could have done, he noticed that Kerrick's feet weren't touching the floor. And kerrick wasn't a jetti, or some flying thing, so it meant only one thing. Taru had to get out of the way, jumping and rolling to his left. But he just wasn't fast enough. His partner's sword basically clanged into his forearm, not causing any bruises but enough to hurt. Taru grit his teeth and lunged back, swinging overhand, creating an arc, and attempting to crash it into the other's shoulder. He couldn't go for the head, because no matter what, this was training and he couldn't kill his partner. Maybe break a bone or two to show who's who, but to kill a friend—never!

Kerric saw the swing and knew he was about to get hit again. while he was mad he still didn't want to hurt Taru. He is like me Kerrick thought, adopted by mandos. He felt an impact and felt pain in his shoulder, his arm went limp. Kerrick fell to the ground. He got back up slowly. " A mando doesn't give up." he said.

As he started to approach Taru he heard Thror's voice "Ke'mot verd'ika!"

He stopped and turned towards Thror. Trying to hid the pain he was feeling. He looked over at Taru and couldn't figure out what he was thinking.

Taru stood in place upon hearing the command. He was not fully sure why they had stopped, but he knew that he would find out soon. Maybe they were moving to a different training exercise... "Lait gi'ah mhi ganar at gev jatne vod? (Why did we have to stop sir?)" Taru asked, not knowing what to do or say next. He stood, twirling the blade between his fingers and readjusting his grip. Taru did not enjoy the fact that they were being forced to stop, but he would not question the decision.
