[member="Spencer Jacobs"] One of the most helpful things in this day and age for international travel is having the right outlet adapter. Dependent on the country you're going to, the plugs are going to be vastly different than ones you'd normally be used to. Thankfully a lot of places sell kits like these so you can keep your electronics running. See this chart for a reference guide. People also make these if you don't want to lug around an entire kit.

Have a great time!

[member="Evad"] OMG I DIDNT EVEN THINK OF THAT! But I'm sure where I'm going things are the same as the U.S. @Alric Khun I'll make sure to pack toothpaste XD or buy some when I'm out there. Back in 2009, to cross the border to Canada they changed policy and instead of just having to show your birth certificate, now you need a full on Visa/Passport situation.

Nah, my bladder is just tight, bruh.

But on a serious note, check your travel allowances for liquids and the like. You don't want stuff being taken off you for being over the allowed liquid limit, I've had friends lose very expensive make up for this reason.

Wear comfortable clothes, avoid belts, avoid shoes that need to be laced up to your knees in case you need to take them off for the security checks.

Face wipes.

International is different for liquids and for all types of gels too. You can only have small moisturisers for instance.

Make sure your passport is up to date and keep it with you.

Take copies of all your bank and credit cards along with your license before you leave in case they get lost.

Make sure you have Canadian money with you.

Arrive at the airport 3 hours before, especially in busy ones, to make sure you can get through check in and security. If you fly through LAX...better make it 3.5 or 4 hours on busy days.

As someone who's going overseas in a week, it's all stuff I have to do myself, so anyway I can help I will.

LOL, change the currency before you go and pay in cash. Your Visa will work, but they'll charge you a currency conversion fee percentage every time you use it.

Try and choose a good time when the currencies get you the best deal.

How long are you going for?

You definitely should call your bank and let them know you are going out of the country. I traveled through Canada a couple times, going back and forth to Alaska, and each time they locked up my account because they thought someone had stolen my credit card.

Unless you are just gonna run with cash, which might be the best way to go.
