Trial Run

Location: Kwenn Space Station
Objective: Purchase military-grade arms from the Bareesh Kajidic

Jax approached the Kwenn Refueling Station. It should be a fairly low risk meeting place, but this was a big deal for The Muertos. If he secured these guns they could dominate the Coruscant Underworld. He looked over at [member="Chedi Iqari"]. He hoped he knew what the smuggler was doing. He didn't seem very sure of himself. Jax promised to pay him for backup on this run. He needed the backup, but this was more of a test. If he performed well Jax planned on inviting him to the crew. They arrived in the docks of the station and the ships docked.

"You ready for this, hombre?"

"Totally...Never been more ready" Chedi said with as nonchalant an air was he could muster. Meanwhile he was thinking to himself "Holy sithspit!"

He was secretly cursing Mr Xeveshe who somehow got him in contact with Los Muertos while Chidi was unloading cargo on their last run. Mr. Xeveshe was currently back on their ship "Trailblazer" doing...whatever it is Falleen do.

Enter stage right, a balding Aqualish, wearing a sleeveless blast vest and some nice cargo pants. He sat on top of a stack of crates, presumably containing the weapons, and snorted a line of some exotic powder off the back of his large, three-fingered hand. Some assorted thugs stood behind him menacingly. Mostly Vodrans.

He stood when he saw the smugglers arrive on the docks.

"Pateesas," boomed the Aqualish, waving around a Deathhammer pistol far too casually for anyone's comfort. His tusks shuffled and four black eyes looked at the smugglers. "You have the mouleerah, the money, eh? Let's get this deal done."

Kwenn Station was controlled by the Cabal now, but even so doing an arms deal in broad daylight out on the docks where anybody could see them made Yuhj Narbo uncomfortable. Habits and all.

According to the Kajidic sources these young gangsters were from the Coruscant Underworld, which was currently controlled by the [member="Coratanni Cartel"].

Objective: Stop being unarmed (read: get a gun), oh, and keep Chedi out of (too much) trouble.

The job posting had come in several hours before. A simple gun run. The milk run of smuggling. The kind of job that will almost always go sideways and end up with said guns getting fired. Probably not this time, right? Xevshe thought to himself. The kid had said he was a smuggler, and they both were critically short of credits. Xevshe figured the worst that could happen is they end up dead. It could be worse. Somehow? At least it sounded good when he told Chedi the plan.

In actuality, Xevshe needed a weapon. He had been cruising around in dangerous space for quite some time, unarmed. This simply would not do. No member of falleen high society would be caught dead without some kind of sidearm. Well, more accurately, they probably would be caught dead, but that's what the sidearm was for. Xevshe finished looking over the ship and moved to meet up with Chedi and the contact person.

Jax attached his lightsaber to his belt, and began gearing up. He checked his slugthrower rifle making sure it was working. Jax activated his energy shield for a second, then powered it down. He put his vibroknife in his ankle sheath and grabbed the credits.

"Lets roll."

He exited the ship waiting for [member="Chedi Iqari"] to follow. He scanned the docks for the seller looking for anything out of the ordinary.

He spotted the seller he looked like a veteran to deals like this, but still remained vigilant. Good Jax thought to himself glad he was no amateur. He walked to the older Aqualish.

"We have your money. Let's see the guns." He brandished a leather bag heavy with credits in his mechanical hand.

Chedi watched in horror as Jax checked an assorted array of weapons. Mr. Xevshe had said that this was a milk run...if this was a milk run he wasn't sure what equipment he would need for a dangerous job.

Not to be outdone, however, Chedi took out his blaster and inspected it. Yep. Still there. He just hoped it worked. He hadn't used it since he had shot that Bothan traitor who had betrayed his friend, Bane, the original captain of the Trailblazer.

He put on his meanest scowl as they waited to hear from the seller.

A Mirialan, a human, and a Falleen. What an interesting trio.

Narbo chuckled from the belly, nodding to one of his goons. "Open the case, eh?"

The Vodran flipped open one of the crates' lids, revealing neatly packed firearms.

"Just as you ordered, no? Now let's see the cash, pateesa."

Xevshe exited the ship with the others. Taking a look in the crate from afar, it seemed like everything was legitimate. He privately wondered if everything was as it seemed. There was something about the pomp and circumstance of a deal like this that seemed so...quaint. A bunch of violent people trying to act violent so that no one had to get violent. And of course, there would always be one guy that didn't get the memo. Laughing to himself, the falleen relaxed a bit and looked around the room, wondering who it would be this time.

"Here's you credits, all there you can count them yourself if you want." Jax tossed the bag. "[member="Chedi Iqari"], [member="Thuumal Xevshe"] start loading the crates. I'll join you in a second." Jax turned to Narbo. "Tell your boss the Muertos send their respects, and that I have a business proposal for him. I'll send it to him and we can talk when he gets a chance. I'm sure he's a busy man."

[member="Bareesh Kajidic"]

Loading stuff. Now THAT he felt confident in doing.

He started to pick up the crates to deliver them to the ship. As he was lifting the crate he noted that it seemed a little...lighter than he would have expected.

He looks around to see if Mr. Xevshe is noticing the same thing. However, Xevshe is still standing around. He clearly has no plans to help load the ship. "Typical..." thought Chedi.

Chedi continues to load the ship but it's nagging at him that the crates just don't feel...right. He tries to catch Jax's eyes but he is clearly engaged in more important business. Chedi tries to motion to Mr. Xevshe.

Jax walked back towards the ship with his usual swagger. He noticed [member="Chedi Iqari"]'s concerned face, as he was never very subtle. "Everything okay Chedi?" He glanced back at the rest of the crates with his good eye.

Chedi moved over towards Jax so he could whisper to him. "Uh...the crates don't seem right. They are lighter than I expected."

"Who Gorba? Big boss Hutt is always busy, eh. But you send him the proposal and maybe you see old Uncle Narbo again."

The Aqualish chuckled, tossed the bag of credits to a Vodran - who began counting, then nodded once. Narbo grunted and made a circle gesture with his hand. The Kajidic crew started to walk off.

Every crate contained the promised weapons as far as the Kajidic members knew. If any had been skimmed off, then it wasn't with Narbo's knowledge.

"Let's get to the ship before we check anything hermano. Our business relationship with the Kajidic is important." Jax prepared to spin his rifle off of his back if necessary. His boots clanging on metal walkway into the bridge. As they entered the ship Jax threw the lid open.

Xevshe said nothing as he help load the cargo onto the ship. Everything seemed in order and the contact didn't seem concerned. Chedi looked odd, but Xevshe didn't know him well enough to know if he should be concerned as well. He entered the ship and peered into the crate. A bunch of guns, as was expected. He looked at Jax.

"These for you, or are they going somewhere else?"

"I will be taking these back to Coruscant. So lets load up the rest of the crates and leave this station. I'll pay you now and as an added bonus you can each take a blaster. They're RT-97C heavy blaster rifles. Should come in handy in the future, pretty heavy firepower. If either of you want in The Muertos just contact me and we'll see where things go. I'll drop you off wherever your ship is." Jax got his trademark smirk and walked to the cockpit.
