Intent: To create a support station for the Isumaru and other trade ships while expanding Koensayr's non-combat catalog.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Koensayr
Model:
Trist-Class Repair & Refueling Station
Affiliation: open market
Modularity: Ships, Types of fuel
Production: On Demand
Material: Durasteel
Description: Due to the inherent costs associated with building and storing a station, each Trist is built to order which makes delivery take longer but ensures that Koensayr doesn't have millions tied up in surplus that they then have to maintain. Though once in place they're wonderfully easy to keep running and are practically idiot proof with the number of computer and mechanical safeties built into them to prevent tired workers and visiting spacers from accidentally hurting themselves or wasting materials.

Up to three capital ships can dock at each of the three arms and smaller ships can dock directly in one of the bays along the central section (best viewed in pic 3) where the lower portion of each arm connects to the station proper. Crews from the ships in exterior docking can traverse these to the passenger areas of the station and avail themselves of the amenities and luxuries to be found there like a general store or a hot shower with real water. There's also a restaurant and hotel for people waiting for repairs or for a ship to come in.

The upper disk of the station contains the massive double-walled tanks that hold the fuel and cargo bays waiting to resupply ships as well as several repair bays for the small ships and a machine shop for basic part repair or fabrication. Larger ships are mostly stuck with basic patching and part swapping to get them on their way to a proper yard capable of handling battle damage. The top arms branching out from this section contain the massive fuel lines out to ships and allow the repair crews to transport material to and from the ships without having to go through the public sections of the station.

Defensively the Trist does play host to a single squad of fighters and twenty quad lasers though the fighters mostly act as escorts for the larger ships to prevent collisions. Ten of the guns are evenly spaced around the edge of the large top disk while five are placed on its top and the other five on the bottom edge of the lower disk to provide the best fields of fire. Of course the station's best defense is its deflector shields but hose will only hold out for so long without friendly forces nearby to drive off any attackers.

I have to question some of these NCAs. This is billed as a repair and refueling station, but it looks like you're putting things on to make it more like a trade station or orbital housing station. If it's meant to be a refueling station, I'd like to see the NCAs better reflect this fact. Why would it need a hostel, or hot water showers?

Truck stops have hot water showers and restaurants and I figured some repairs might take more than a few days requiring the crew to be off their ship. I also briefly mentioned that people might be on a lay-over waiting for a ship. These are mostly minimal facilities. Also when I asked in chat several of those were specifically mentioned as things people would want on a station like this. The largeish cargo hold is mostly for stuff to resupply ships with consumables like food and parts.
