True Mandalorians: Pre-Formation Recruitment

Ori'Alor Tal'Verda

Leader of the True Mando'Ade
Welcome to the Pre-Formation Recruitment for the True Mandalorian Sub-Faction of the Omega Protectorate, why I'm doing this, is that I want at least 3 people in the faction the day I form it, So I can do a wider recruitment campaign on the main site without worrying about getting the axe if interest is slow going at first.

What are the True Mandalorians?

In canon they were a group of Mandalorians that followed the Resol'Nare and the Super Commando Codex. In the Context of Chaos? It's a Semi-Government built around the Akaan'Ade ures Kyr(Army without End/Borders) Mercinary Company, founded by Ori'Alor and built on the same Principles. I'm currently in negotiation with Ayden to get us a Base(I'll be doing my next post there after this), to at least get us something resembling a Capital.

The Resol'Nare and Super Commando Codex are simple enough, and for those who know them, please bear with me for the benefit of those who don't:
The Resol'Nare:
  1. Wear armor
  2. Speak the language
  3. Defend yourself and your family
  4. Raise your children as Mandalorians
  5. Contribute to the clan's welfare
  6. When called to arms by Mand'alor, rally to his cause
Some notes on Interpretations:
1. You don't have to wear THE Armor, but you have to have the armor of a Warrior, like [member="Galaar Tal'Verda"] wears his Katarn, you can similarly choose what armor you wear(One thing I'm working with Baktoid on is a standard Armor for us)
2. This one is fairly self explanitory, but for the benefit of Non-Mandalorian Chaos Players, include Translations.
3. again, self explanitory, and one of those 'no duh' things for non-evil characters/players
4. This one won't come in Often, because of the nature of the bourd, but this one shouldn't be to difficult, if you need some advice, contact the guy I linked in number 1, he's big time into Mando stuff, so he'll be able to help you.
5. This one is a bit more complicated, because of the nature of the True Mandalorians, following Mand'Alor's call may not be as cut and dry as that...but I'll make a Judgement call here, unless it represents a conflict of interest(IE, a Mando War with our benefactors, the OP) I don't have a problem with you helping out the United Clans...but I advise caution, as we represent a 'Splinter' Faction of Mandos, and they might not take to kindly to that.

now for the Super Commando Codex:

here's the basic code:

[SIZE=x-large]The Code[/SIZE]
  • Strength is life, for the strong have the right to rule.
  • Honor is life, for with no honor one may as well be dead.
  • Loyalty is life, for without one’s clan one has no purpose.
  • Death is life, one should die as they have lived.

there are also basics on Manners and some such:

[SIZE=large]Everybody Fights[/SIZE]
Want to be a farmer? Farm. Want to be a singer? Sing. Want to be a trader? Trade.
But never forget you’re Mandalorian. First and always we are warriors above all else – regardless of how we choose to make money.

The Akaan'Ade, the Organization I'm building this around, does have Ranks, if for no other reason than to make things easier... but All Mandalorians are equal.

[SIZE=large]Manners[/SIZE]
  • Speak your mind
  • Look the person you’re talking to in the eye (or eye visor slit)
  • If you’re a guest in a Mandalorian home (where they raise their kids), take off your boots
  • Pay your debts
  • Fuss over your kids
  • Respect the elderly
  • Don’t get romantically involved with non-Mandalorians unless they want to join up
    sex is not romance

[SIZE=large]Mercenary Work[/SIZE]
We’re all warriors and there’s really only a couple of ways to make good money as a warrior… mercenary work. This includes all forms including contract security, bodyguard duties, or bounty hunting. Basically you get paid to fight… what’s not to love?
We really only have a handful of traditions regarding merc work.
  1. Once you accept the job, for anything that’s not expressly in the contract … YOU decide how it’s done, not your employer.
    • If your employer adds terms and conditions to the job, they must make it clear beforehand.
  2. Do the job you’re paid to do, no more, no less.
    • Bodycount is not necessarily a sign of a job well done. If you’re paid to kill one man, a perfect mission kills one man. However sometimes we have to clear the way to the target and clear our path offworld… such is life. Make sure they know it was a Mandalorian that killed them.
  3. If you abort the job for any reason, the employer gets back any money or equipment they put up front. A Mandalorian pays his debts.
    • Reasons to abort
      The opposition is actually good enough to kill you
    • The job involves something that might bring shame to your clan

As of now there are two groups in the Akaan'Ade, the Cabur'Akaada(The Protector Legion) and the Ori'Ramikad(The Supercommando Corps), other groups will be added as needed. The Cabur'Akaada is the basic fighting force of the Akaan'Ade, while the Ori'Ramikad is the Elite Group.

The Cabur'Akaada is all inclusive, all you have to do is Join up and promise to follow the tenants of the Resol'Nare and Super Commando Codex. Just because they are the basic fighting force, doesn't make them storm troopers, feel free to be a badass however you want to fight.

THe Ori'Ramikad is something special, meant to be a reward for skilled RPers and Combatants. think of it like FUer Knight and Master/Lord Possitions...If your bringing a 'seasoned' character in, and you want him/her in the group, PM me a link to where I can find some of the threads your character has been in, and if it looks good to me, you'll get the possition.

Why so long?

Because I'm fitting probobly 3 seperate threads worth of Material in here for this recruitment drive.

That said, we're all inclusive:

All Species, Droids AND Clones, and Forcers of almost every sect.

The only reason I say Almost, is that I'm going to have to say No to Sith, sorry, if i had my choice, you'd be wearing a T-Visor and wooping ass with the rest of us...but I don't want to cause problems in the group...
If there is enough consensus, and any Sith characters promises to not cause trouble, I wll look at lifting this restriction on a case-by-case basis.

That said, Darksiders as a whole are OK, just go with the Neutral Forcer Tags or 'Dark Jedi'... and be nice and welcoming to any lightsiders/neutrals that join us.

The 'True Mandalorians' are going to be mixed government, with the typical Mand'Alor possition sharing power with a Democratic Body made up of the people, which may evolve into or have a budding off 'Council of CLans' once we get bigger.

how the 'House of the People' will work is that concerned Mando'Ade will come into the place the House is being held(It'll have an IC Sub-Forum in the Faction Discussion) and air greavences or ideas to other Mandalorians or the Leader. Unless it is a time of Crisis or war, all voices in the House of the People will be heard. As we get more people, this will most likely be more formalized, possibly even into the 'Council of Clans' mentioned above.

This sub-Faction will be a Largely OOC-Free Faction, while I do know that we can't avoid it totally, try to limit it to lower the stress of your felllow players and myself.

Finally, while we wil have a Base that serves as a Mini-Capital, and you are encouraged to hang around sometimes and catch some missions, True Mandalorians are a Nomadic people, and you should feel free to stay that way if you wish.

Ok...now I think I'm done...

Having read ALL THAT, who still wants to join?
